The All Blacks became the first team to retain the Webb Ellis Cup when they beat the Wallabies 34-17 in the World Cup Final at Twickenham.

"It's all yours, New Zealand." Danie Craven said that at Eden Park in Auckland in 1956 when the All Blacks beat the Springboks in a series. If it was true then it was far truer now when New Zealand have conquered the world.

This World Cup Final was a match of superlatives. The best team in the world beat the second best team in the world in the best Rugby World Cup final ever as the climax to the best Rugby World Cup ever. And in the process of the All Blacks of New Zealand became the first team to win the World Cup three times, the first team to win successive World Cups and the first New Zealand team to win a World Cup Final away from home. And they deserved every bit of their success.

They had great wins in the seven matches of their World Cup, most notably the way they swept France aside in a 62-13 quarterfinal victory, a record defeat for France. They were better value than their two-point win over South Africa suggests and now there is this big victory in the final.

They may just really be what people are saying - the best rugby team of all time, surely the very best since the World Cup started in 1987.

They scored first and last against a skilled and brave Australian team who with 16 minutes to go had improved from 21-3 behind to 21-17. They fought valiantly but the All Blacks had better guns and more ammunition. They were tackled better and were better in the post-tackle scrap, they were better in the line-outs and even in the scrums, they had more possession and territory and they scored three tries to two.

One of those tries was scored right at the end with a break-out, for the Australians did not give up the fight - as they never would.

 The aussies were only able to get close in the scoreboard when they were 1 man up (thanx to a very stupid and needless penalty of Ben Smith that could have cost the game and the WC). But the AB shown they've got that special touch that distinguish the greats to get over the pressure and assure the win.
Dan Carter was instrumental in this and showed all the class he has,...... simply the best flyhalf of the modern times and very probably ever. He set tha bar so high that it will be very dificult to reach in the future. All class, pure class.
Nonu was also outstanding. What a player he is!!!
Often criticized, but the best 12 in the world by far and also the best of the pro-era.

 The All Blacks are true world champions.
Not only are they a great team but they possess something called class and are humble players led by a great manager and great captain.

 Ouch that double header via LA is not pretty at the best of times. But I'm sure the prize will ease your pain!

Now that's what I call a brilliant display of rugby.

What sets the All Blacks apart from the rest of the planet ... especially South Africa, is that they play with intelligence.

They clearly sussed out the Wallabies' strength and weaknesses and put a game plan together to go to war with.

One that would negate the Ozzies possible dominant scrum (they didn't have to worry about that) as well how to deal with the two opensiders at the break down.

Brilliant.

Not only do they have a better selection policy in place but there's actual thought behind everything they do.

How refreshing from what we have to endure.

They use their head before each match and don't merely look toward the heavens for divine intervention.

My heartfelt congratulations to the New Zealanders and their brilliant team and coaching staff.

You guys are streets ahead of the rest of us. There is no denying that.

Even Beandip must surely acknowledge your brilliance and bow before you humbly, begging for mercy ... with words such as "I am sorry ... I was wrong all along ... I acknowledge I an a twat and know nothing of the sport ... PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!"

I've had my doubts about the rightful champions of 2011, and have sad as much, but after this display I no longer have an issue with it.

The dumb oaks here cant have it both ways. Meyer have rightly been castigated by all but a few nutters regarding his dumb rugby. It has been acknowledged that the strategy employed by the Boks makes them far less effective than if they played a balanced less predictable game.
Now this pap wee ab side who only won due to the reversal of a penalty (which should never have happened) are hailed as the greatest ever. having totally also burgalled the previous RWC as the vast majority acknowledge.One myth piles upon one myth.
As for OZ being the second best side. Bwahhahahahaha hilarious. The Bok's clearly would have had the pap OZ pack for breakfast.
Given the circumstances all congratulations are a tad hollow. OZ also should not have made the final. Being beaten by the Scots would have also burst their bubble. Down under rogues triumph would be the best heading!! Bwahhahahahahahahaha

Just enjoy the thought of how much this All Black victory must rankle Baboon-ou and how much egg he has all over his face.

I wonder why the graceless sore loser reckons the Bok pack would have had the All Black pack for breakfast? They certainly didn't have them for breakfast in the semifinal . . . not even when the All Blacks were down a man!

 Beeno is really a tennis fan so he probably didn't even watch the RWC final.
