....is a little intelligence. Not a lot....just a little. And a little bit of of imagination. Not much just a little.
Take this stat that Lomp is a good runner, which I blew out the water with his effective negative two metres a carry in the knockouts. What really happened?
Well we lost to Japan and so the Boks were going to show opponents no mercy. The ABs didn't need to be that ruthless and they weren't, until they played France ....who they did want to slam.
We on the other hand were out to expunge the Japanese blot and thus to destroy Scotland, Samoa and the US. And our primary weapon was a big, slow oke...Lomp, who also gets excited when he can beat up on smaller okes. A real man like Bakkies wouldn't have bothered....but Lomp hogs everything when he can be the main man.
So he beat up on small Johnny Gray and the others and ended up with great pool stats. Then he faced some real opponents and literally went backwards. Add to that his tackling miss on Kaino and the picture is complete.
A little intelligence and a little imagination is all I ask....so puleeze before you posts these dumb stats try a little intelligence and a little imagination will ya?

You plead for members to show just a little bit of intelligence - but then you showed zero rugby intelligence yourself.  The whole aim of your posting was again a totally senseless attack on De Jager - and that exposes the real stupidity you showed all the time.

The useless and absolute idiot Mozart had too much egg on his ugly mug - so he wants to get out of it by attacking De Jager.   When that was blown out of the water he went crazy in another personal attack on me.  Stop being a rugby illiterate and egotistic BSter - you bloody old fool - and accept what most people said about De Jager..

Um Moz you will find that all locks average about 2m a run for they operate in traffic - hello...most locks have a carry count of a big fat zero like Whitelock in the semi.
Gaining 2m a carry is huge....its usually with 2 players on his back.
Lood was huge this WC...by far the best lock at the WC...only Eben came close - FACT

Sadly in the knockouts he was at 0.8 metres a carry.

Sadly for you the fur top rated Springbok forwards rated by the media and virtually all commentators are Vermeulen, Etzebeth, De Jager and Malherbe - the latter two of which are always being denigrated by you.  Fact is De Jager was the only forward rated in the latest overall ratings as 9/10/
All of the rugby writers who wrote about the potential team for the potential 2019 WC had only De Jager, Etzebeth and Malherbe in their teams as certainties and only one did not have De Allende (another pet hate of yours) as 12.  The one who did not has him as 13.   And the "tractoring"  De Allende has been drafted into the 7's team to aultimately go to the Olympic games.   So wrong again as per normal.
Why don't you forget about your campaign against De Jager, Malherbe and De Allende and accept that they will be in the Springbok team for years to come.  It is no longer necessary for you to attack them - De Villiers, Fat Fransie, Matfield and Jannie du Plessis will not be back for the Springboks so your campaign against the three players mentioned is even from your perspective done and dusted.

Hmm not all...this from the Pundits on his NZ flop, which followed all his ball losses against Wales.
"Lood De Jager – 5/10

Missed two tackles but also made 16 but it’s the lineout where he was dominated."

 Mozaart
You go for everything pertaining to De Jager you can scrape up.  You attack him for two possession losses against Wales - but not a word about Burger's 4 possession losses, 3 against Wales and the most critical one against the AB's.
You mentioned the line-outs - but the fact is that NZ took four line-outs from Springbok throw-ins by -
*  Retallick   =  1 (Taken from Etzebeth)*  Whitelock =  1 (Taken from Matfield) *  Kaino       =  1 (Taken from Burger/Louw)*  Read        =  1 (Taken from Vermeulen)
The one name missing from the above list is De Jager - so it is easy to write crap and get caught out writing that - not so?
Incidentally - the AB's took two line-outs on Springbok throw-in by their loosies.  I repeatedly wrote that our line-out options are too restricted - having only two jumpers.  We should have a third one to be competitive against a team like the AB's.

So Moz you would have to say if Baby Lood De Hughey just caught the ball and fell down on his wee face he would average 3 times as much per carry !As I said before Retallick looks like the love child of Hermann Munster and former NZ PM Helen Clarke !

So you guys are still going on about the useless Lood.

Listen ... he was weighed and found light ... especially when we needed him.

He allowed Kaino to score an easy try in the corner through poor defensive ... in fact he was brushed aside like one would a bothersome fly ... which leads me to question his upper body strength.

He's a weakling.

He uses his size and weight against the smaller guys and that's usually only when they run straight at him ... but anything to the side ...  where he's forced to reach or stretch is easily shrugged off ... which means he has weak arms and weak hands.

In the end, it cost the Goats the match and a shot at contesting the final.

He was responsible for calling the lineout against the All Blacks. They read him like a book and stole 4 or 5 line out balls on our put in.

So in other words ... he didn't do the job he was entrusted with.

He can't even defend his line properly against the Pumas.

Lazy ... slow thinker ... slow reactions ... slow brain ... !!!

Nah ... to my mind being a crashballer and only a crashballer doesn't qualify him for selection.

We have better options.

We need one who secures our line out ball ... it's an important set piece that cannot be thrown away so easily. It puts us on the back foot and nullifies any attacking options.

Unacceptable.

We need a solid defender who can be relied upon in times of pressure ... not a weakling who's only defensive success is from right in front of him. Anything out wide or to the side is beyond him.

In conclusion ... he's physically weak ... a defensive liability ... doesn't know how to secure our line-out set piece ... is lazy ... has a slow brain with slow reactions ... and the cherry on the cake ... he has a weak jaw and an awful overbite.

For crying out loud ... HE IS NOT BOK MATERIAL.

Not a media hype Denny - Media hype is for the players who deliver nothing and get praised afterwards for some obscure reasons.   Am afraid De Jager did deliver the goods most of the times.    .

Moz 0.8m a carry is good for a lock given he is getting over the advantage line......you seem to be confusing a lock with a centre or wing.....Lood had more positive carries than any other lock in the WC - the whole WC.
Why not go do yourself a favour and go compare his carries with all the other locks in the competition......that way you can then come tell us that Lood failed in the department......problem is, Lood is once again going to show you up......for he tops the list.......much like he does with the tackling.
Denny why not do yourself a favour and go read the article that JW posted regarding stats and Lood for your comment above makes you sound extremely ignorant

Well said Carbuncle I can tell all those snot klappe I have been giving you are having a positive effect. Lomp is the new Stephanie, who was the new Goosen, who was the new Jantjies, who was the new JJ, who was the new Jantjies, who was the new Taute....all the way back through the mists of time to that player of the legendary hype Puke Watson. Every one hyped, every one beloved by Sapp.

Lomp was nothing in the knockouts...a dominated, tackle missing, ball losing ....brain dead chump.

Problem is that De Jager is far better than Matfield was over the past year.  All one can hope for is that you would be honest enough to admit that.

If that were true why would it be a problem. Sadly it only looks that way against Scotland or the USA....put Lomp against real opposition and he gets a Kaino club sandwich.

If BS was a disease - you would never have survived.   De Jager did very well against Australia and the AB's in the RC this year.
If ever there was a flop over the past 14 months against the AB's and the Australiand it was in fact Matfield - but that would go straight over your head, because you refuse to see the real flops in your favoured players.
