An Attacking Springbok Backline

 I do understand your point of view - but have some reservations as well.   Nobody knows whether Du Preez is still up to standard.   He had about 12 rugby matches since March 2014 and has played no rugby for four months.   In pre-season training he got injured again.   So by the time he may be ready to take the field  five months of no rugby would have happened.   I doubt very much whether he would be match-fit by the time the WC comes around.
He definitely was not match-fit in the June tests last year and that was the likely cause of his injury.   I believe Du Preez could be an option if he gets fully fit - and I mean match-fit as well.  If not - he will be a liability.   He is already 33 years of age and I think that he is in the same boat as De Villiers was on Saturday - seemingly gym fit enough (with a serious pace deficiency) - but definitely not match-fit.   
I would rather not move Willie le Roux around - he is a specialist full back and much more effective than he was on the wing.   I would keep Pollard at flyhalf - but not with a slow service scrummie that sells him out - like Pienaar did on Saturday.  
Until Du Preez proves he is match-fit and can produce the goods - he is a no-no.  The same applies to De Villiers - who will opt out if he thinks it would be to the team benefit.
So my backline would be the following:-
9   Faf or Reinach10  Pollard11  Habana12  De Allende13  Kriel14  Senatla15  Le Roux
I would definitely have Lambie on the bench, with a back-up center as well.  I am afraid that remains a problem.   I have serious doubts whether the present candidates in the squad will make it:-
*   De Villiers did not convince me of anything when he came from the bench a nd in his own words is far from match-ready*   Fourie is not even a remote consideration - he was sent packing already and I do not think he will be called back.*   Mapoe is more of a wing than a center - he is physically a problem at 13 - could be a back-up wing - not a back-up center.*   Francois Steyn has had a horrible performance record since his return from France in 2012.
That leaves us with Serfontein.  I think he is a good player - not as bad as some members make  him out to be on this site - but is he good enough to play on test level?  I have my doubts.   I think ultimately Meyer's hand may be forced into calling up Vorster as a back-up center - he definitely performed better than Serfontein in Super 15 this year and is a more physical guy than Serfontein.

I have my doubts about Serfontein at 12 and De Allende at 13 - would rather want to see it the other way around,   I agree with you about moving Kriel to the wing.   When I mentioned that in another thread - Mozart went ballistic and accused me of total ignorance.
I do not think I agree with your bench though.   I cannot see how Hougaard is to be selected ahead of Reinach and Jantjies ahead of Lambie.    I do not know why Hougaard is not in the Springbok squad - but he may have fell between the cup and the lip since he has not played at scrummie for the Bulls in Super 15, but played at wing.   One cannot select him as a scrummie - since he virtually had no game time this year in Super 15 in that position.   Insofar as Jantjies is concerned I have my doubts about that one as well - in recent games he folded under pressure, especially insofar as his kicking at goal is concerned.   Taking that into account I cannot see how he could be considered ahead of Lambie.

Ag kak can only be applicable to the members of this site who think Frans Steyn should be at 12 and Fourie at 13, who thinks JP is pace enough to play on the wing and who think robotic Morne Steyn is a top flyhalf.
