@mikey,
i ddnt know that, but im going with richard kingi from the rebels, IMO hes the most underrated austalian in the comp.
while hes not the rebels No1 halfback, they do play him a lot at fullback, so this will give him plenty of attacking opportunities, especially against the force who IM are the 2nd worst team of the comp.
nick white will be a popular choice, only cos of his wallaby selections last year, but IMO hes kak on all levels.
there is one good choice who i will be picking if kinig isnt playing, alby mathewson from the force. he was the blues former halfback last year and prob the most attacking oreitated halfback in the OZ comp now IMO, except when kingi is at halfback.
FYI, halfback is the worst position to try and pick good players to score lost of points for u, only one player clearly stood out from the pack in this regard and that was f hougaard who will be my half back in rnd 3, if the caterkilis experiemnt fails.
Mike, you only pick the result, either a win for a team or a draw. The margin is optional, but if you get the points difference within 5 points, you get a bonus. There is also a bonus point for the closest prediction of points difference within the pool. If more than one player are on the same prediction, they share the points. There is also BP's when you get all the results right for a round etc. That is why your points may differ between different pool. There are weekly prizes for best performances etc, but its almost the same odds as winning the lotto, so good luck. A pity the guys are not keen to join, as it takes little time to play, and if you have a good personal pool, its a lot of fun. My other pools are too big and its not as much fun if u don't know all the players.
Sasu, I second what you said about Kingi. He had a few injuries last season and we haven't seen the best of him, but he's very versatile and he's good value, especially with the injury to Cooper Vuna.
Draad I would think of joining your team but I do not watch all the games. Usually only when Sa side are playing. Hence I only get a feel for who is who re overseas sides a little latter than one should to make effect assessments.
I do recall once entering two such comps (on the Supersport website forum I think it was) and coming second on each and being the overall winner. Ou rooitwit was beside himself as was dorkie dumbo who - to avoid falling even further behind mirrored my picks. I started off badly having not watched the overseas sides much but then surged ahead.
It was a legendary performance and I am sure those who witnessed it will all remember it well! So I will rest on my laurels so to speak.
does anyone know whats happened to demetri catrakilis??? i had him on my bench in prep for round 2, but now hes unavilable and i have this look on my face, o_O
Beenz, that's the whole point. No-one knows whats gonna happen. One must use the knowledge available to guess what will happen. Quite simple really. Join up, we are only 6 ATM, so if you can't win us, you might not know your rugby as well as you think you do. Saffex, that goes for you as well! Lets see if you guys at least know the basics.
