...Cheika has named his side for the first of two Barbarians matches this week, a Tuesday night clash with Gloucester (Wednesday morning Australian time) at Kingsholm.


Captained by Springbok veteran Victor Matfield, the team consists of seven capped Wallabies, with Joe Tomane, Toby Smith, James Hanson and Stephen Hoiles all in the starting XV for the opening game.


The Barbarians play Gloucester on Wednesday morning Australian time and Argentina on Sunday morning...

Funny stuff from Humungous....of course he needed Vic....to hold Lomp's hand. Cheika is no fool, he saw the feeble missed tackle on Kaino, the spilled balls deep in the Welsh 22. If Lomp was forced on him he needed Vic as an antidote.

The outside backs and halfbacks in particular are well suited to Barbarians style rugby . . . both the starting combos and the bench. 
Should be a good game. Hope it's being televised here !

Matfield missed exactly one tackle in the whole WC while making 37...... 37 out of 38 tackles for a success rate of 97%. The lying keeps getting you into trouble.

 Most of Matfield tackles are the weak quality tackles.  The tackles do not force the tackled players backwards - they go forward in the tackles and that present the opponents easy balls to carry on with their attacking play.   There was no cse where a Matfield tackle had a different affect.
Why quote the tackles made by the useless Matfield compared with the tackles made by De Jager - both in quantity and quality?   Matfield was good in the past - at present he is a joke.

 That is crap of the first order Williamd was by that time tracoring in your words and was surrounded by players.  Matfeld made his standard weak tackle and Williams was still going forward.  Even if that was one of his better tackles, in essence Matfield MAKES LOW QUALITY tackles.

Well one thing is  for sure. He didn't miss a player for a try....as Lomp did on Kaino. And he didn't stand there while a player flopped over for a try right in front of him ...as Lomp  did with the Bargie.

 Th same twaddle all the time.  He did more than that - he cost us to lose the semi and he was piss poor the rest of the tournament.  Not a locks backside since he returned to play rugby in 2014.  A major part of the reason why the Springboks lost 50% of the games while he was at lock,

 Wrong the Springboks won 62.5% of their tests when Matfield started in 2014/15......60% of their tests when Lomp started. Stop lying you old sow.

 That is not lying - it si a fact.  Matfield started in 12 matches and the Springboks lost 6 of those.  That is a fact.  You can go through the list if you care to.  The problem was that Matfield destroyed the Springboks Tight 5 and they lost the tests because of that.  
He was a liability of which there were more whose selections were strenuously  supported by you.   
Even in some tests the Springboks won, Matfield was a serious liability - eg the AB and English tests tests last year.   he was so poor that the Springboks could have lost those two tests as well.   And then there was th RWC semi disaster - where he was BS in capital letters.

So Matfield started 16 times and won 10. Lomp started 10 times and won 6. Matfield's win ratio as a starter was 62.5%....Lomp's 60%.

I think you should apologize to Victor. Heaven only knows how many posts contain the lie that his win ratio was 50%.

Wrong Lood was the best lock on the field against Wales you liar and he outplayed Whitelock against NZ unless of course Whitelock gaining all of ZERO metres with ball in hand was some kind of brilliant display
