B eauden Barrett's kindness overwhelming

Beauden Barrett made sure a cancer stricken New Zealander was at Twickenham for the Rugby World Cup final.

Beauden Barrett has been hailed for his generosity in helping a cancer stricken New Zealander attend the Rugby World Cup final.

New Zealander Katrina Haberfield was able to get to Twickenham on Sunday thanks to Barrett's act of kindness.

Barrett arranged for Katrina and her English husband Steve to attend the final after a visit to their hair salon a few weeks earlier.

He noticed they had an All Blacks jersey on the wall and asked about it. He was then told of the couple's rugby passion and Katrina's battle with chemotherapy and breast cancer.

In one of those "small world" moments, they figured out that Barrett actually knows Katrina's sister, Renee Fowler, a professional golfer in Miramar.

When Katrina refused to charge him for the haircut, Barrett offered to get her All Blacks jersey signed by the whole team. A week before the final match, the jersey arrived back at the salon, along with Barrett's autographed tournament cap and tickets for the final game.

Even with surgery booked for Thursday before the final, Katrina was determined not to miss the game.

Thankfully she got the best possible result, with Barrett scoring the match winning try.

He gave them a signed t-shirt and some free tickets. - Let's not overrate this.i would hardly say this turns him into a saint. Decent gesture, nothing less and nothing more.Just being objective here folks.
If a Springbok had given their hairdresser a signed t-shirt- would anything have been made of this? If the ABS had got knocked out before the final- would ths signed t-shirt have been made of this.
Also Barrett got a free haircut. The nice gesture originated from the couple.

How did the story get to the media?

...Sharkbok, that's like comparing oranges with apples...or a Ferrari with a skateboard...don't think a signed Bok jersey has the same aura of greatness around it somehow...

@brycy,

" ...Sharkbok, that's like comparing oranges with apples...or a Ferrari with a skateboard...don't think a signed Bok jersey has the same aura of greatness around it somehow..."

i can think of a few japanese hunters who might disagree with that.

im sure they would love a signed Bok jersey to hang over their fireplace the way peeps hang hea ds of prized animals they hunted, LMAO,

 sharkie.........wake up fella.
An All Black jersey signed by the All Black squad is priceless my friend.
Remember always look at the bright side of such a kind gesture.
Don't drop to Mozart's level.

Thanks for your moralizing Arthur John. The bright side of life is that every day people in the world are doing stuff like this- like the couple not wanting to charge Barrett for his hair cut

Come on Sharkie - lighten up - what can you give someone with cancer - nothing really. Beauden was probably scratching his head what to say, what to do and he did the only thing he could do - he may not have cured their cancer but he put his hand up to do something to brighten up their day abit.

Hi Wardad, yep, I am still on Cloud 9
 - ALL Glory to GOD.
