You sure no how to pick 'em Dave. Rossouw and Miller were perfectly placed to play the Protea's home.  But of course they didn't. And Morris, out there with a smile on his face and a competitor' s nerve sees the team home. The egg flows.

Moz, once again you've beat me to it. The below is from Supersport.....a total wipeout of the two blustering Buffoons, Vetsak and Psycho
"The hosts, after winning the toss and electing to bowl first, restricted England to 134 for eight in 20 overs with man of the match Imran Tahir claiming 4-21 in four overs but the Proteas" Once again ou Psycho's so-called Golden Rule(win toss, bat first) goes out the window.......it's a cross he'll wear for as long as he hangs around. Tahir described as a pie chucker by Vetsak serves up a lovely egg nosh.
"Once again it was left in the hands of Morris, who had almost single-handedly won the fourth one-day international in Johannesburg, to take his team over the line."  Morris described as being useless by Vetsak does it again Bwhahahahahaha
"Rilee Rossouw (18) only managed a six despite trying too many fancy shots which never found the middle of the bat." Another of Vetsak's class acts...Bwhahahahahahaha he knows how to pick em!!!

What happened last bight in the T20 was a disgrace - not by the bowlers - but by the batters.   The fact that in the end the Proteas won resulted from some panic by the fielders - not by the batters.
Amla scored 22 runs from 21 balls at a strike rate of 104.72 while the required rate was 112,5.   In the process a sitter was not caught by the WK - Inadequate
De Villiers scored at the lowest strike rate of 70.00 and made a measly total of 7 runs - he definitely is not an opener - maybe at 3 or 4.  Totally inadequate
FAF came in at 3 and made 25 runs at a strike rate of 83.33 - put pressure on everyone else.

The above three caused massive pressure on the lower order batsman.  The strike rate of way below 6 rpo in T20 is totally unacceptable,   The three managed a strike rate of 88.52 whist a strike rate of 112.5 was required and the faced more than 50% of the balls faced.
When I saw that De Kock was not playing and the batting order I suspected that a near disaster was inevitable - but that was off-set by poor fielding by the English team.  Duminy and Amla benefited from a number of missed catches and fielding of the last three balls was poor - it should never have produced 4 runs,
Denny went bananas about Rossouw - yet at least he managed a strike rate of 100 when he tried to recover from the dreadful performance of the upper order batsman.  Meyer made a small score at a strike rate of 144.44.  Those two contributed 31 runs from 27 balls,
The better get the batting order right if they want to beat the Auusies ibn the three T20 games against Australia and the following WC.

Actually both sides launched similarly. After 12.2 overs England was a whopping 5 runs ahead, but had lost 2 more wickets.....with 7 wickets in hand we had 46 balls to get 59 runs. That's not pressure....that's a lay up. A perfect opportunity for Rossouw and Miller to finally come good. But they transferred the pressure....big time....onto Morris. Luckily he did the business.

No there was nothing similar to the two batting sides.  The first three batters of the English made 50 off 28 balls before they collapsed in the middle order when Fahir and Wiese bowled.
With that kind of start there was no pressure on the middle and lower order - but in the case of SA instead of maintaining a run rate of 7rpo they batted at less than 6rpo.

Would you call him a class act? A yes or no will do.

Riossouw has done very well in T20's and in ODI's.  I would say he is above average as a player in that versions of the game.  To get a player to play as little as Rossouw did in the past two years and then expect miracles when he gets in under serious pressure caused by batters higher in the order is not really fair.   At least he tried to keep the batting to near the required rate - the higher order batters did nothing of the kind.
My batting line-up in T20's will be De Kock and Rossouw to open the batting with De Villiers at 3 and Du plessis at 4.  Miller at 5 and Amla at 6.  Duminy made runs last night - but he was a serious joke who should have been out must sooner.   Amla was bad as well even though he made some runs - but all four wasted balls at a most alarming rate.   The WC is coming up in India and Amla in India is a no-no.  The Indians also realized it and never contract him to play in the IPL.

So it's the everyone else blame game....I see. You know, it's the nature of cricket for top order batsmen to fail and for lower order batsmen to come to the party......it's nothing new......and guess what....it happens in all formats of the game, probably moreso in limited o vers cricket.
That is the nature of cricket and there are hundreds of examples. BTW, thanks for the Yes or No response.

There is a difference here - in shorter versions of the game the number of runs made is not the real issue - the strike rate is more important.  I am against the idea of using a player who cannot compete as to rpo in the T20.  There we need a reasonable strike rate and although Rossouw tried to maintain a run rate of at least 6 rpo.  The same cannot be said of the other top order batsmen.
If this was the first time the rpo requirement by the top batsmen were not maintained it would have been different - but it happens way to often.    That is why SA is number 6 on the T20 ranking.
My suggestions are aimed at getting the side functioning better in the upcoming series,

Amla is not a T20 player - he cannot bat at the required rate and with him opening lower order batsmen will always under pressure.   Amla in India is a dead loss and they should get clarity on the line-up before we have to play in the T20 World Championships in less than a month from now.
However, we will see how things happen in the upcoming series against Australia as well.

Just let us have the same info of the other T20 players to compare apples with apples.  36.5 is a very high average for T20 players and a strike rate of 146 also the same.  Remember in most games played as a lower order batsman and that affect averages as well.

T20 is much too random. A crap team like the WI can turn over the likes of SA, Oz and England. Then put them up against the same team in a test and watch them be made to look like school boys over and over again. Aside from the fact that test cricket is very "toss dependant", in my book, the top rated test team is the best cricket team in the world. T20 just gives hope to shyte teams and gives their fans something to cheer about. How many times does a team ranked 4 or 5 in the world at T20 win the WC? Way too often to give the format any credibility. Just to rant a little more. Specialist bowlers aren't even required in t20. My opinion is that you may as well field 5 batting all rounders along with 5 out right batsman and you'll probably be unstoppable. Just bat deep and even if the other team hits 180 you'll probably win more often than not. Why T20 teams even remotely resemble ODI teams in make-up is completely beyond me. As an example. Let's say we have five time Morris(NOT that I'm a fan but he's a good current example) and five times any one of our top four. That means we'll bat all the way down to 11. How many runs is that worth? Now let's compare the amount of extra runs that will be hit against a X 5 Morris bowling attack to the amount hit when we have three or four specialist bowlers. My guess is that you can maybe add 2 runs per over. Meaning an extra 40, to the opposition score, if that. Batting big all the way to 11, well I think that's worth way more than 40, considering the top seven can all bat with total freedom. And just one of them needs to succeed in a t20 totally take the game completely away from the opposition. Feel free to criticise ;)

The above says nothing - why not provide the same info on the SA batsmen as you provided iro Rosouw.  The issue of the strike rate is not reflected above - so it is iro T20's really not really the info that is pertinent.

Let me try and make this very simple point again......at the time Miller and Rossouw got into the mix, we were perfectly positioned to win. Whether the top order bats got behind pace....but were matched by the Pom middle order collapse is a different point.

The point I am making is simple ....by the time Rossouw and Miller were involved they were barely off the run rate with wickets in hand......their wickets in effect. And a good thing too because they quickly lost them. Rossouw tried his best to get out with a bunch of silly shots. Miller having barely got away with his six, predictably holed out. Wiese who really looks ordinary flopped as well. Transferring all the pressure onto Morris.

Whether it will help to demote/drop Duminy ranked 13 and Amla ranked 25 for Miller ranked 32 and Rossouw ranked 62 in the light of yesterday is a separate argument. But the idea of Amla at 6 is hard to grasp.

Not so easy to make that assumption.  I said that our batting line up in T20's are not correct.  I do not think for instance that it is OK to bat De Villiers as an opener - he should be at 3 before Du Plessis.   De Villiers really thrive when a foundation has been laid - not when he has to lay that foundation.

Amla is not a T20 player - he cannot bat at the required rate and with him opening lower order batsmen will always under pressure.

My batting line-up in T20's will be De Kock and Rossouw to open the batting with De Villiers at 3 and Du plessis at 4.  Miller at 5 and Amla at 6.

Yep.....another slosh of egg. The batting order is wrong, De Villiers is not an opener....Amla should bat at 6 Nyaaah Nyaaaah Nyaaaah.....Whoops, but what now!?
"Amla opened his bat face brilliantly and used his hand-speed sensationally to strike 69 off 38 balls with eight fours and three sixes."
And once again the Golden Rule...."Win toss, bat first" ....is made to look dumb and ignorant.
And oh I forget....the Vetsak "Useless" Morris chipped in for 2 wickets.

Amla made runs today - but how often does that happen - one in every 6 or 7 innings,  The problem further is that  this game was played on an absolutely flat track - he has failed in India this past year and is not going to make the grade in a tournament in India which is going to be played in Mar ch and early April.
Please note that the Indians has realized that and Amla is never contracted to play in the IPL in India.

I think that in general De Villiers is better after a sound foundation is laid by the openers amd he does not have to be careful about getting out.  I would in India rather open with him and De Kock and not with Amla.

Hash is quality, he starts.
QDK at 3, AB to open with Hash. I would have had QDK to open with Hash but AB has made it quite clear that he wants the opening spot and if he can start as he has done today then why not. Amla isn't really suited to batting at 3, he is someone you want to bat through the innings and hold everything together.

"Amla made runs today - but how often does that happen - one in every 6 or 7 innings, ....."

 Cera dyne
It is normal for illiterates to be one-incident or one-match fools and in this case it is also them who miss the point totally.
The T20 WC is played in India - so whatever is written here pertains to the competition in India.  Amla has failed comprehensively in India and the sub-continent in the past and he will continue to fail there.   That is why no Indian franchise team will contract him to play in IPL.
So that goes out of the window and the one game where Amla did well now suddenly becomes the alpha and the omega in all their arguments.   So think again before you go over the wall of idiocy.
