first off good win over a scotland team that just did not pitch up.
sadly there the same issues are still persistent
1. poor breakdown skills. 2. non existent options on attack.3. poor kicking
1. louw's skillset has once again be shown up to be completely lacking. one more than one situation louw was outgunned and just to slow to create any decent ball. the decision not to pick brussouw will cost meyer the cup
2. with the most narrow attack pattern in the rwc we are fast becoming the more narrow minded team to defend against. its shamefull to see such great talent playing in that narrow channels. against the samoa we attack with pollard as first receiver with forwards running onto the 2de and 3rd channel with great effect. not good enough to win the rwc. aus, nz, ireland and wales will eat that type of game up. it baffles the mind that we are sticking to this rubbish pattern even though we made such great progress against samoa. as we go into the knockout games we cannot rely on the one off forward runners to create space for us. its easy to defend and we cannot impose our will on opposing teams mark my words we wont win if we stick to this arcanic pattern. use pollard and willie as first receivers and attack with more width. the space needs to be created on the inside for the backs to run into on the outside. we dont have a a fecther so trying to play one off runners means more rucks instead focus on keeping the ball up with offloads ext. 
3 the worst kicking display i have seen. lucky for us the scots are as impotent as a 90 year in a brothel. if the team we were playing against was worth its pound of meat i am sure the nz coached teams would eat the ball they are being given up for breakfest. the aussies kicking display was the benchmark. if you cannot find grass rather keep the ball in the hand. there is just a general feeling i am getting that we are forcing a kick thats not on just for the sake of putting a kick in. its a obvious ploy to force a coach's game play.
all in all its not doom and gloom but meyer must be kicking himself with the personal he as to choose from. the obvious winning formula is having a proper open sider in place. as the aussies showned once again the importance in the new modern elv era of a proper short stocky opensider. england was raped at the breakdowns as there fat boys just could not keep up with the pace of the game.

The Boks create a lot of options on attack. We have good depth, width and shape and variety to our play. We just need a big ball carrier. That's what's been the missing ingredient since 2014. 

 meyer missed a trick so much so that i think when we come up against the big attack based teams louw wont be able to perform at all. to be frank he has not been pulling his weight for 3 years now.
brussouw is 10 times the player louw is and the sad thing is one can see the influence brussouw has on the bok dynamic at the breakdown but meyer's narrowminded conservative mindset is his biggest undoing. if we face the irish aussies or the kiwis it will be a blood bath at the breakdown.

This was standard Meyer playing technique from 2004 - nothing new.  Our lock combination was way too good for the Scots and that is why it worked,  
However, that playing style can never work.  Too many loosies and other players being second of third receivers making it impossible for the outside backs to function.   In the Japanese game the same system never worked - and Burger with his ball losses and Bismarck with his 4  penalties gave the Japanese team victory in the game on a platter.
In the Samoan game the plan was slightly different and they played a hopeless game - typified by their loss against Japan yesterday.   The duds on the site shouted and  screamed about how inspired the game plan was.
We will never win anything in the later games with that type of game plan - we need a different playing style and the ball must NOT be kicked away aimlessly and kept in hand.  A much wider game is called for - and that would unlock our assets wider out.   In essence I agree with you - but the duds would never understand anything, so lets hope that we beat the USA and then go into a different type of game against stronger opposition coming our way.   What was done yesterday would book the flight back after the quarterfinals.     

   

Meyer has a lot going on with the backs. Unlike any other Bok coach, Meyer uses the forwards more in open play like New Zealand.
