Boks paly Ireland 3 times next year

The Springboks will have another tough international season in 2016 as reigning Six Nations Champions Ireland arrive ahead of a tough Castle Lager Rugby Championship.

Whether coach Heyneke Meyer is reappointed or a new coach takes over, the Green and Gold are likely to have a tough game against the Irish as they face off in two coastal cities and Johannesburg ahead of the yearly Southern Hemisphere showdown.

The Springboks will resume their rivalry with the All Blacks in Durban on October 8, bringing the international season to a close with a massive match against the team that ousted them from the Rugby World Cup a few weeks ago, and went on to win back-to-back World Cups. (Burgled is the word to use oaks Ditto Oz)

Ireland will arrive for the test series, played on three consecutive weekends in June, with Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth playing host to the test series.

Argentina will head on safari to Nelspruit in August to play the Boks at the Mbombela stadium, while Australia face the Boks at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

The SARU general council will take a decision whether or not to reappoint coach Heyneke Meyer and his support team on December 11, after the original sitting to review the Rugby World Cup was shifted on Friday due to undisclosed reasons.

The new meeting will take a week later as scheduled, but an announcement on Meyer’s future is only likely to be made on December 14.

• 1 October: South Africa v Australia, Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
• 8 October: South Africa v New Zealand, Growthpoint Kings Park, Durban

This would be a seriously interesting series.  I think that would be the first time the new Springbok eam would play without the baggage we have had in the non-productive and useless rugby geriatrics like Matfield, Jannie, Pienaar and Alberts will be shown the door.  Even Du Preez is dubious and there are still some question marks about Burger as well.
So we will go into the game with more of the productive players instead of the reputation players who let us down more than some would believe.    We can only hope that stupid rugby played in the WC will be abandoned as well.   
The selection of the team should be done on the basis of performance during the Super series and not on reputation.  I can foresee a substantially different and better team that represented us in the RWC.   No foreign-based players bar Vermeulen should be selected.
Remember the Irish beat us in the last test in November last year - and the weaknesses then must be eliminated in team selection - especially Matfield should be out of contention.
