Boks 36 Scotland 15
I expect the first match to be tight but the backline of South Africa will roll on the afterburners and kill the game off. We do need extra bonus points to be sure of a win.

You will get nothing out of Mozart in this case and DF made the following comment and when challenged ran for cover:-
"This is where our campaign dies sadly."

Mozart will not make a prediction because his favourite Mayfield is not playing and he is too big a coward to make a prediction anyway.
I predicted on Superbru that the Springboks will win by 17 points.

Mozart has already predicted a Bok win by 10 points on his "Barking dogs thread":
"Still Victor will rest until the QF which will help the hammie. And we will beat Scotland, although not without some anxious moments. By about 10 I'd say. And the Barking Dogs will applaud that enthusiastically, because after all it's a totally new t eam."

I predict Boks by 12.

This is the best starting team we have had in a while! If we look at the bigger picture, Scotland should not be a worry for us, but the Japanese loss has instilled a bit of self doubt in South Africans. South African players in the "Scottish" team, like Strauss and company, may also be an issue because we've had to change things like our line-out calls due to the fact that they understand Afrikaans.
T he "Scott's" are a much improved team over the last 6 months, but we still have too much fire power for them to be an issue. Boks by 16.

Well said BokBF, it's rather unfortunate that we have a bunch that delight in Bok losses and if so much as one player that they do not like is in, they turn on the coach. CleanCut went so far as to say he wanted a loss! It reminds me of 2007, all the closet fans who were attacking Jake and most of our best players for two and a half years. All of a sudden they were gleaming with pride. Very poor character.

I 'll back the Boks by ten. I am expecting the forwards to really turn on the power and dominate, but the Scots can be a real nuisance at the breakdown.

One week ago I wouldn't bet a cent for the boks,...... but without the burdens they had in JdV and Matfield,.... the need of winning to avoid what could be the biggest and more humillating embarrasment in WC history (in a very disputed race with England),..... and the fact that Scotland will play with a B-side,...... I would say Boks by + 20

but if the Scottish can handle the pressure of the boks in the first half,.... the pressure could change to be over the boks,.... and then anything could happen,..... but now with the team Scotland will field this is very dificult to happen,..... a pity that Scotland cannot field their most competitive team,.... anyway, a very interesting match

Boks power past Scotlandby Gavin Rich 03 October 2015, 19:44

The Springbok World Cup challenge continued to gather momentum as they produced a performance of impressive intensity and quite brutal physicality to beat Scotland 34-16 at St James Park in Newcastle on Saturday evening.

SCORES

South Africa – Tries: Bismarck du Plessis, JP Pietersen and Bryan Habana; Conversions: Handre Pollard 2; Penalties: Handre Pollard 4. Drop-goal: Handre Pollard.

Scotland - Try: Tommy Seymour; Conversion: Greig Laidlaw; Penalties: Greig Laidlaw 3.

I won this weeks predictions. Many were disqualified as they only provided the points difference.
