All Blacks cheat subtly, says ex-Bok2015-07-30 09:50

Cape Town - Former Springbok centre Brendan Venter says the All Blacks are notorious for pushing the legal boundaries in international rugby.

Venter, via a column on supersport.com, commented on this past weekend’s Rugby Championship Test between the Springboks and All Blacks at Ellis Park.

All Black skipper Richie McCaw scored a controversial try late in the game which proved the undoing of the Springboks.

The All Blacks ran a crafty lineout move close to the tryline which saw hooker Codie Taylor throw a low ball to McCaw, who joined the lineout from the scrumhalf position before catching the ball and barging over the line.

Former South African Test referee Jonathan Kaplan earlier this week said McCaw’s try was illegal - and Venter agrees.

“Richie McCaw’s match-winning try is an interesting talking point because the player who stands at scrumhalf has to be two metres back when the ball gets thrown in from the lineout,” Venter wrote.

“Moreover, the receiver is not permitted to be part of the lineout until the ball leaves the hands of the hooker. For McCaw to have received that ball, he would had to have been part of the lineout. As such, McCaw was standing in an illegal position and, by the letter of the law, the try should have been disallowed.”

According to Venter, the All Blacks often try to get away with illegal tactics.

“The All Blacks are notorious for pushing the boundaries on everything. Sometimes their ways are legal but very often their tactics are not. The All Blacks cheat subtly...”

Venter though expects referees to be wary of the All Blacks’ tactics at the Rugby World Cup later this year.

“It’s no coincidence that in big games, the All Blacks generally don’t get away with their surreptitious ploys because referees are more sensitive to the situation and better prepared having studied both teams.

I believe the above tactics could count massively against the All Blacks during the World Cup.”

Venter, 45, played 17 Tests for the Springboks between 1994 and 1999

Last week the All Blacks "won" a game that the world thinks they deserve to have lost.Although this is a bad omen for the All Blacks.
One of their players was finally sent to the Bin for red zone professional fouls. The whole world saw it- and referees will now be on the watch out for them in the World Cup

the only thing the world knows for sure is that most of the saffas including journalists, ex-players and ex-refs, are a bunch of hooligans unable to assume a defeat. And that each time they lose (which is quite often lately) they find any excuse to begin non-stop campaigns that in the worst of the cases end up with death threats and violent episodes.

Brycy, I just rece ived word that Beeno has been delayed because of the choir practice going into extra time. That wee chap Beeno is the conductor
                "It's the ref's fault orchestra"
It's the refs fault, it's the refs fault....
It's the refs fault, alleluia, alleluia, alle-- e--luia

Should we tell Beeno he's supposed to stand in front of the choir?

We're doing ourselves no favors whining about this. Not even referees analyzing this to death can agree on whether it was legal or not, so why would we expect the man in the middle to get it right? The Boks only have themselves to blame for this loss. We had numerous opportunities to secure the game between minutes 50 and 60 when we had complete dominance, but messed them all up.

Great post Sharkbok and hearty congrats to Dr Brendan Venter for.pointing out what we all know. Namely that the wee abs are serial cheats. I also sudpect the abs without huge ref support are doomed come RWC time. Thr tide is turning as more voices are raised about wee ab cheating. Limp wristrd oaks like Pakie prefer to cower in a corner and allow this rubbish to continue. Brendan keep up the good work and congrats also to Kaplan and everyone who complained. We must raise the roof everytime it happend. That halfwit ab ass still thinks the wee abs won the test. They didnt as a cheat win is no win at all. Is time the IRB warns nz and failing their heeding the warning gives them the boot Beeno amped by Venter speaking out and hoping more and more will do likewise. Lets cut out this blight on the noble game. May it come to.pass soon. That the kbbs have the thick skin to talk about their winning the test shows onky how bent the are!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA they are so bent they dont even know it. What was hilarious was that arch crook brycy lawrence trying to.justify the try. As if his opinion was noteworthy!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

in order to understand this picture, peeps need to understand a few things, mainly...

- the white line marking which starts on the Boks try line which is 10 meters

- codie tyaylor is throwing the ball five meters from the Boks try line

using those markings as reference, and then the yellow and red line markings as done in this example, it is clear that the try is perfectly legal.

venter ordinary player, extraordinary whinger. not easy to do considering the south african nation are the world champion whingers,

Kkbs are serial deniers of the truth. Who will forget their insistence that bissie' s tackle on carter was illegal due to no arms being used. Video evidence proved otherwise but did the kbbs apologise and concede to the truth? NO . Not even Dan Carter could change their bent " minds". And so it always is with the bent kkbs brains as they defend the indefensible. As time goes on and incident piles up on incident it becomrs more and more absurd. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT KIWIS YOUR APPROACH TO THE GAME IS A DISGRACE.

Nope JW its time to tell the kbbs that their team are a bunch of serial cheats. There is a time for every purpose under heaven.
The way the wee abs play the game is disgusting. Intentional and coached cheating. If this test was a once off example one could laugh it off. Unfortunately it is not.Actually for me the worst moment was Habana being held onto by a nz player. How that could have been missed beggars belief.

Beeno, you will have noted that Hooper just got a one week ban because of repeatedly hitting an Argie player while being held. Perhaps you should consider Habana lucky for not getting the same. A bit of dramatic soccer style acting by Habana got what it deserved though, i.e. ignored.

Warped logic again JW. The guy doing the holding should be banned. Dont know what Hooper hit but Habana was hitting at the arm holding him.
Habana should learn a good karate chop and sort matters out more effectively. The nz twit simply would not let go.
It could not have been missed by ref or linesman.

As usual after an All Black vs Springbok game we hear the sweet sound of tearful Yarpies making excuses and bitching about the ref. Music to my ears!

car mat who will forget the kbbs wailing about the error wayne barnes made. it went on for years. One of the very few times the wee abs got a bad call.
We get one every week its called serial cheating and if its not the kbbs its Oz!Get the Jarpy agenda is alive and well and all Sa rugby fans need to wise up.But Hansen is worried as the wee abs may well not have their ref cover in the rwc which spells tickets for them.
