RE: Say Davey Boy....
September 01, 2014, 13:04:55

Look here Denise you [removed]ing useless liar......at no point have I EVER said Jantjes was the next big thing you [removed]ing wanker.

I have said I always rated him and nothing has changed. At no point have I EVER had him ahead of Lambie or Goosen -get it you lying twat.

Pollard is better than Jantjies so he gets my 3rd flyhalf spot in my extended squad of 50 halfwit.

Obviously Dave got this wrong.I happened to put Pollard ahead of Swiel, Lambie, Goosen and Jantjies. But until one sees test performance, it's in doubt. It's hard to predict player success...too often it's not the positives but the weaknesses which dominate....Goosens feebleness, Lambie's size and indecisive style. Jantjies over elaboration and inability to kick under real pressure. Swiel's physical resemblance to Goosen
All those players are beset with obvious weaknesses.Pollard doesn't have an obvious weakness, more than his physicality and ability to attack the line, the absence of an attackable weakness makes him  the player likely to succeed. But he still has to make it happen more consistently...and until he does, it's still in doubt.

I seem to recall it took some persuading to get you to see Pollards talent Moz. Just like its taking a lot of effort to get Card to see how good Allende is. We toil on hoping against hope!
Not only does one have to toil to make certain oaks see young talent but we have to toil to make them see old players are over the hill. AND to give sight to the blind regarding wee matfiled 105 kg and 38 years old.Bwahahahahhaahahhahahaha
Beeno toiling away day after day.

Yep Beeno you are spot on Moz said nothing of Pollard, he had us believe Frans was the answer at 10.....so he is just lying to try make a point......Rooineck pulled him up on this very point.....its old news.

As for me, I called Pollard as a future Bok when he was 18 years of age playing for the Baby Boks - long before anyone else made a call on him.

At the time he made the Bok starting line-up, I had Lambie and Goosen ahead of him given their test experience. Did that mean I did not rate Pollard - NO

Once Pollard had shown his worth at test level, which was pretty much from day one, he has been my starting 10 ever since.

We have 4 class your 10's......the order changes every now and again.....right now given his S15 form Jantjies is my number 2 behind Pollard.

I made the call on all 4 years ago and all 4 are test standard, just like the Kiwi's have a handful of test standard 10's

Wrong Hasbeen. I make very few positive predictions, preferring to see proof. But when I do I'm usually right...and I'm almost always right on my negative ones...see Watson, see JJ, see Gooseneck. But here's a positive first mover call on Willie:

At 6'1" and 90 kgs he is nicely set up for a wing. This week he makes the 365 TOW with 94 metre gain and two clean breaks. So why does he never feature in any Bok discussion?

This guy is an out and out attacking player. You never hear that he never got any chances....he finds them. His instincts for the flow of play are outstanding, a bit like Campese in a way. Check any game stats and he is always producing. But somehow he doesn't fit, which may be the case, but who knows until he gets a chance?

What we do know is,  the Cheetahs wouldn't be half the team they are without him.

And far from being reluctant to accept Pollard, I was the fist poster who said clearly he was the best of the young fly halves and the future for the Boks.....long before he played any tests. Your lackey work for Mike seems to have truly addled your brain. Moz....few calls, but the right ones.

Provided he avoids serious injury and isn't rushed into pressure situations too soon, Pollard is a great prospect. He has the physique and head for serious rugby and is quite an athlete.

All the hype about Lambie, Goosen and Jantjies seems so silly in comparison.

@Dawie Kabouter. I just wanted to make sure who fits in where.
So you have Pollard at no 1 and Jantjies in no 2. Can we then accept that Lambie is no 3 and Goosen 4? Or is it the other way around

Mooi boerseun......you are a quick learner......Lambie vs Goosen in the pecking order is difficult to call given both have been out of action to the eye.

So it could be 3. Lambie 4. Goosen or 3. Goosen 4. Lambie.......who cares really

I can tell you this. If you still have Goosen in the mix, you are as confused as can be. Lambie has an excuse for not playing a lot but Goosen has nothing. Nada. Zip. Bugger all other than that his game has been crap and he has been sidelined by his club with an order to get himself sorted.

Lambie is a fullback....all his best games have been at fullback. At flyhalf he has no model..no sense of what to do next in tight games. Goosen is just a fast athlete with a big boot ....but no real strength in contact. Fullback is his best shot, but peppered with high balls he will crack.
I see no scenario where Goosen and Lambie add to Bok competitiveness.

Morne Steyn at flyhalf he has no model..no sense of what to do next in tight games, so he tries to make sure the Springboks lose the tight games - sometimes with success and sometimes despite determined efforts without success.
I know for a fact that Morne does not add to Springbok competitiveness.

CC winner, S15 winner, TN winner...Top 14 winner. Flyhalf is the most important position on the park....no way you win all of those top tournaments without having a great flyhalf.

I have very good reason to the contrary as well showing that all those wins were despite Morne Steyn - not because of him.   He never was a great flyhalf - always a robotic one who could not read games and his execution was often enough pathetic.  lets look at the following few examples:-
*    Missing 5 kicks at goal in the 2012 Dunedin test making kicks out of hand which the commentators called BS.
*    Missing 4 out of 11 attempted tackles in the 2013 Ellis Park test (two of which let to scoring of tries) and making a wrong decision by failing to make a relieving kick seconds before the half time in the said game that led to a further try by the AB's.
*    Getting a kick charged down deep in the Springboks 22  in the Pretoria test against Argentina last year where only a desperate effort by De Allende stopped  Bosch from scoring a try which would have resulted in a draw in the relevant test
*    Kicking a ball out of touch directly in the final minutes of the away test against Argentina last year - putting the Springboks under massive pressure in a game where a penalty or drop kick would have ensured a Springbok loss
*    The Perth fiasco last year where Morne missed 7 out of 15 tackle attempts and sabotaged the Springboks to the extent that they lost the test in Perth last year.
Anybody rating Morne Steyn as a great flyhalf is talking BS.   By the way Morne did not win the French Top 14 - could not have since he was on the bench in all round robin matches of his club - where they gained the points to go further in the competitions - and was only played at starting flyhalf in the last two matches of the competition because the first choice flyhalf was injured.  His kicking at goal in the two matches were accurate - his defense was atrocious (in one of the games he bettered his Perth record by missing 8 if the 15 tackle attempts) and his attacking ability non-existent.     That type of crap is what makes your statements on rugby so ridiculous and stupid.
A great flyhalf avoided by Meyer like the plague since the Perth fiasco - that must really be the be st joke the past three years on this site.

Actually in 2012, the commentators commented on Ruan not Morne. They only disagreed with a Morne kick after he made a clean break in the second half!

What is warped in stating facts that actually happened.  Again an excuse to mask actual occurrences on the field of play?  Wont help to deny facts as if it did not happen - denial in this case represents dishonesty.

 DF
Sorry to differ from you - both kicks described by the commentators as BS happens in the first half and both were from around the half line by Morne not Pienaar.   With respect I cannot recollect a clean break by Morne in that test and there was none recorded in the statistics.  What I can remember clearly was one ball carry in the AB 22 where Morne carried the ball a few meters and beat a defender - but the movement died with him.
I think we will differ on what happened in that game.  What was clear that Morne was not acceptable - Meyer himself did not select Morne to play any tests in 2013 after that test.  So he was not beyond reproach in that test.  Morne's general play in 2012 in all tests play was not up to standard - he had an off year - and the Dunedin game was no different - hence his dropping from the test side.
In my opinion Morne had a better year in 2013 - but another disastrous year in 2014.         There are vast differences of opinion as to Morne Steyn - there are those people who admire him and think he is great, but there are others who do not think he is any good,  Very  few middle of the roaders insofar s he is concerned, so i do not think we will ever agree on him.

Unfortunately there is another Tokkie misrepresentation to report.

Tokkie says: "Getting a kick charged down deep in the Springboks 22  in the Pretoria test against Argentina last year where only a desperate effort by De Allende stopped  Bosch from scoring a try which would have resulted in a draw in the relevant test"

The Match report says:

78

Big chance for the Pumas there as Steyn's kick is charged down but Pienaar gets there first to dot it down for a 22-metre drop out

Sure - Pienaar has a beard - that is as far as this story goes.  Pienaar was not anywhere near where De Allende was the player who prevented the try who contested with Bosch for the possession of the ball and prevented the try was De Allende.  The ball went further backwards to where Pienaar eventually touched it down.  If De Allende did not do what he did in contesting with Bosch to get to the ball the try would have been scored since Pienaar would not have been able to prevent the try.
However, you do not deny that Morne made a bugger-up in this case.  Wonderful!!!!!

You can watch what happened again if you can find the video.  Ask DF to check it.  The replay showed exactly what happened time and time again.  So get your lies right please, because you do as per normal try and escape from the truth again.   Love to hear the tripe in this case.
