penalties are killing the lions, they are literally their won worst enemies.

match would be so much closer if not such bad discipline.

 Plus rhule does not look comfortable under that high ball! 2 times he has fluffed it and was saved a third time by willie, willie seems that he is more relaxed now and yellow card for jean cook....

 Lions are keeping the score close, they are still in it. Especially with the yellow card.

@dr win,

exactly, its why i dont understand why only saffa teams are playing.

they will have a slight advantage in round two, which is bad news for the hurricanes who are playing the sharks in durban.

cornell hendricks is having a blinder IMO.

 Clearly not a great game because of the mistakes but the drama was there in the end & there were some good plays and even passages of play. Congrats to Lions fans!

Too many errors cost us as well as gifting possession with the chip kicks. Naka has got a lot to sort out.

@shezza,

chip kicks gifting possession was a two way street.

sad result for the cheetahs, b ut dr win is correct, 1st game of the season and plenty of cobwebs blown out.

this is going to happen to the majority of teams in their first spXV game.

those missed goal kicks from the cheetahs were pretty shocking though.

reminds me of sias ebhersons poor gola kicking vs the highlanders a few years back.

@beeno,

clearly concerned??? o_O

brother storming ed, u have mistaken concern for genuine admiration, i didnt realise how much of a giant ol de jager was.

in saying that, lady elizabeth, stephanie du toit and jacque du plesiss are impressive youngsters coming up the saffa ranks, so congrats my friend.

but we all know ur going to need a lot more then a few big boys to stop the NZ rugby empire from taking over the universe,
