Hope may not be lost for the Chiefs and All Blacks should Aaron Cruden's knee injury turn out to be a severe ACL problem. The flyhalf will have scans on Monday after leaving the field against the Crusaders on Friday. Chiefs prop Jamie Mackintosh says he's looked into an anterior cruciate ligament transplant option that's succeeded with AFL players. "You can get surgery with a dead person's ACL and if it does really well and takes to the knee you can actually get that playing in six to eight weeks, which is pretty unbelievable." Mackintosh says they're fearing the worst, which could mean time on the sidelines for the remainder of the year, with the World Cup coming up in September.

Sounds like a serious injury and it was not caused by contact, it just gave out on him while he was running. It may be the knee that he first injured skate boarding before the RWC.

Sad to hear this JW. Get well the crude - lest the wee abs find a better flyhalf!

Mozart: no doubt you would prefer that he get an old mans ligaments as opposed to a young & inexperienced man's

Mike was my donor candidate! I'm far too young for these kind of high jinks.

With an SA ligament he would end up kicking the ball every time he got it
