Here is some news on him:-

"ns utility back Nicolaas Hanekom is making progress on his knee injury and is expected to be available for selection within the upcoming four weeks.

Hanekom has only featured once off the bench in Round One this season for the Lions and, would be a welcome addition to the midfield, where he could play No.13 or No.12. The Lions man suffered a fractured fibula against the Sharks in last year's Currie Cup ahead of the play-offs."
He wrote the following on Twitter:-
" Back on line. Fighting a knee injury but can't wait to help my team win some big matches!!"

Ah ok, as it made no sense that he was not featuring with the Lions after the CC he had last year.

Other players who have gone missing are Dries Swanepoel of the Bulls and Tyler Fisher and Tim Swiel of the Sharks. I read that Swiel wanted to stay at Quins in England but nothing official has been said.

I see poor Pat Howard is being wasted by useless Coetzee at WP, playing Vodacom Cup......he wanted to stay at Munster and no doubt useless Coetzee's snubbing will be the final straw for him. No doubt he will be playing up North by next season.......what a bloody waste....pisses me off no end......instead we see the likes of average Jones, Lleyds, de Jongh and Kotze getting game time for the Stormers.

We all know that we have three idiot coaches - Meyer, Ludeke and Coetzee.

Nicholas Hanekom? Lol I think I prefer Stokies. great season last year. Another good season could see him elevated to dirt tracker potential.

Its a disgrace how Howard has been treated. One can only hope he hangs around to see who is appointed as the new coach.Hanekom looked very promising last year and so with Allende, Serfontein , Odendaal and Esterhuizen (he now will get his cahnce and had better use it) and well as Sadie and Venter on the scene things are looking up re centers.Mapoe is doing a job for the Lions but does he lack a yard of pace?
