What good is a 109kg if you are as weak as a Barbie doll. Damian has beach muscle. Nothing more.

How is it possible that any observer could possibly question DA's strength and physicality.......what fucking rugby do you watch you fucking idiot

One cant help but swear at such utter fucking rubbish

You are and I repeat myself here, the worst rugby observer I have ever come across.....even worse than Moffie......who needs a nap to get him through the day.

He is approaching 70, what's your fucking excuse for being so rugby dumb huh?

I'm not talking about size, I'm talking about strength. Why do you have so much trouble differentiating between the two? Is this why you like to select teams made up of hippos? You think they'll be the strongest players on the field?
Damian is a pap 12. Prove me wrong.

De Allende is a big unit, he really is.

DF, I think you post a lot of good stuff but I think you have it wrong about De Allende's strength, he's a strong boy.

Damian is not strong for a 12. He lacks raw power, and gets out muscled in contact because he has limited upper body strength. Watch any Damian run. He attacks a defenders shoulder and forces them to adopt a weakened body position and drives through them. He is too close to dive tackle so they have to grab him laterally. He hunches his shoulders, leans forward and uses his legs to power through, it's all there. On defence it is even worse.

He has skinny legs & hence the need for "tractoring" / sometimes referred to by rugby aficionados as "hampestering"  (A lot of wheel spin but no real effective forward movement).

De Allende will IMO continue to develop into a fine back.
He does have strength & power. We may see him have some great line breaks this weekend & we will see him power over people and occupy defenders but as he improves as a player we will see offloads, etc. A bit one dimensional at this point. Early days yet, let's hope he gets good coaching & players that learn to play off him.

I'm not convinced yet by Damien and his defence is a big flaw at this stage, but I hope he has a good game against Scotland. We're probably going to need him to. And if he keeps improving, well, that's only a good thing for Bok rugby.

de allende has been south africas form back since the beginning of the 2014 season, the arguments about his defence have little merit and IMO some of the anti-de allende peeps are using a few examples to sum up his whole defensive game.

de allendes defence is solid as is, like all players there are areas where he can improve, and hes a classy enough player who will do so.
but as it is at the moment, its fine IMO and theres a lot of much a do about nothing being made of it.

de allende is one of the most important players for the Boks, his attacking ability is needed to help the Boks break away from their traditional stagnant 10 man game embeded into the Boks DNA.
players like le roux, pollard and kreil will help out with the attacking woes too.

all thats needed now is a kiwi coach to help those Bok players turn into a champion team, instead of a team with champion players.
if peeps are going to b!tch and moan, then the should be complaining that theres no south african in the world good enough to coach the Boks.

as for the arguments that de allende is only 101kgs, i dont even know how u could being to believe that. just look at him, its so obvious hes at the very conservative least a 105kg.
some peeps here need some glasses,

Naruto-Chan, best stick to what you know best... chomping down exorbitant amounts of ramen.
I have covered a total of 14 games this year; 9 Super XV games and 4 tests. I have reviewed not a few incidents, but everything he did in those games.
Your opinion carries much less weight than mine considering you have reviewed zero games and can recount nothing to prove anything you say.

This story about De Allende came along from Mozart's attack on his defense - much earlier in Super 25 this year and got progressively worse as time went on to the point where he lied outright about the defensive line-up leading to a missed tackle on Kuridrani remaining dead silent on the fact that Kuridrani beat De Jongh on the latter's inside and that De Allende had to come from the inside to try and tackle Kuridrani.  What he also did not mention was that even though De Allende missed the tackle Kuridrani became unsettled and lost the ball possession about two to three meters further and a scrum followed as a result.
Then he cottoned onto the tackle stats in the Wallaby test this year - where it was clear that De Allende has to work on his defense.  On average in matches his defense is good enough - but in odd matches he miss too many tackles and it is clear he has to work harder on that aspect of his game.  DF soon joined the chorus - and came up with his normal ridiculous statement about the defense issue.    However, it is not the major problem Mozart and DF make it out to be.
DF has been onto De Allende from last year - his constant statement is that he is not a center since he is physically too weak to be one.  He say this despite the fact that De Allende is obviously one of the strongest centers physically in the SH and the fact that in Super 15 and in the tests he played in he constantly was the backline player with the most line breaks and defenders beaten.  What is clear is that the issue of "physical deficiency is a  myth created by the idiot for ulterior reasons.  Mozart had to find some reason to detract from the image of De Allende's all-round performance and now says De Allende is "tractoring" saying his line breks and defenders beaten leads to nothing.
What is sad is that both Mozart and De Allende have an ulterior motive nothing to do with De Allende's performance and that is their addiction to see Frans Steyn in the Springbok team.  The two bloody idiots cannot help themselves in this and their boundless ego's would not allow for them to  be proven wrong in anything relating to the useless and physically problematic Frans Steyn.  The problem with these two members are they suffer from a superiority complex as well - the worst imaginable form of it and that they find it impossible to admit they are ever wrong.
Whereas it is already clear is that De Allende is a top class player in Super 15 - rated as the top center in Super 15 this year - but that he also has very little test experience and that he still have ample space and time on hand where he can develop further.

Naturally De Allende will have short coming given his age and inexperience, but he is nowhere near what other delusional posters portray. If he is physically weak, useless, unimaginative and the like. I would rather have him long before any other.

Please forget about the evaluations of matches by Desert Disaster.  They are on the whole not worth reading,  He posted an evaluation on this site after the Aussie test in June.   I then printed his evaluation and watched the game, making notes about what he wrote,  His version came down to total misrepresentation and an amazing number of lies.   I posted the correct version on the site two days later and he ran away like a coward who has been caught lying.  That is DF for you - a bloody idiot at best.

I see they say that De Allende weighs 109kg,   That is about 6 kgs lighter than Fat Fransie.  In recent photos I saw of Fat Fransie there was a clear Boepie in evidence and the fat are all over him.   The one photo I saw of De Allende was all muscles with very little fat.

I'm not talking about Frans. I'm tired of you continually bringing up other players when we discuss the merits of a particular individual. This is about Damian. Now if you are so sure of yourself, reference one solid tackle in ANY of his tests. Reference one run over a defender in any game this year (except the Lamebie incident). Reference all this space he creates for other players. Why is this so difficult?

If you cannot see how awesome a player De Allende is by simply watching him on television, then sadly no amount of step by step ana-lysis will help you see the light.

It's a pointless exercise. A waste of time.

Just face it ... you're a stupid man.

I know it isn't your fault , but we're not responsible for it either.

You will have to take that up with your daddy!

 Trolln Fox
I mention Steyn because you constantly indicate that Steyn and not De Allende should be in the side.    You are absolutely dumb when it comes to what happened on the field of play and what you said does not happen happened often enough in tests.    So you find how I rectified your lies and what you said in that rubbish comment of yours.  I did not lie - I was honest - your distortions was endless and could only result from a twisted individual.
Every incident you describe was distorted as well.  Absolutely so - because it is being wise after the fact - what you believed what should have been done - you bloody nitwit.   If De Allende did what you wanted him to do afterwards and a try was scored - you would have said he is stupid and should not have done it.  Your comments on De Allende is absolute BS and unrealistic.  There is not one commentator or rugby writer in SA or even in the SH that agrees with the junk you and your equally stupid side-kick  write on this site.
It is actually tiresome - the same refrain time and time again.  I know cut and paste is easy on the site and you subject us all the time to a constant repeat of your idiocy.
Lastly my suggestion is - find something else to write about - and forget about what you dream up about De Allende - it makes you look too stupid and you may do a bit better.
