One very positive aspect of our rugby is our depth in number 10's. Cant believe even HM will include Morne Steyn, or will he not come September.

Some highlights...some a bit old but nevertheless all our no 10s are young.

Pollard is our only test quality flyhalf playing in the S15... Lambie is a backline killer and a player whose teams inevitably lose. Witness our second ever loss to Wales and the Sharks before his injury. ....Jantjies is mentally fragile......and Goosen is fragile physically.

.......no doubt there will be much whining about that view, but only Pollard would have a chance of making the AB team.

For a country suffering during the Morne years as our test flyhalf - the present scenario is healthy.  Mozart said only Pollard may make the AB team - but Morne cannot even make his Club team as regular starter - so we have advanced over the past year into a sounder environment  insofar as flyhalfs are concerned.

Absolute bullshit Moz......Lambie won us the England test and had as much to do with the losses to Ireland and Wales as the side as a whole did. Lambie proved his test status ages ago.

Your take on Jantjies is based on history, try move on and judge him on the now.

When last was Goosen injured? He has muscled up and stayed injury free all year. He proved against Oz that he has test rugby written all over him.

I'll say it again, we have 4 test quality flyhalves in Pollard, Jantjies, Lambie and Goosen......without question.

Lambie conspired to lose us that test against England. He achieved nothing of note. He puts pressure on backlines with his deep and short alignment and very slow, floating passes. He cannot make decisions, very passive, he cannot tackle. He was run over all day, just as he has been in every other test. You take a player like that out of the #10 jersey and put him at fullback where he belongs, just like Goosen. Both are fullbacks, will never and have never succeeded at 10. Lambie did squat against Australia except run into open space. Anyone could do that, dare I say it, even you could do it.

Now onto Jantjies. He has a history of struggling against the big boys and has never taken the step up to test rugby. He is playing as a cog in a well oiled machine, just as Goosen did 2012.

Morné and pollard are our only proven test 10s. With Morné having a more measured and calmer distribution game and Pollard more abrasive and willing to run at the defence. Between the two we have everything we need. In the others we have virtually nothing, just hope in Jantjies.

Shall I drag up the footage yet again? The worst 10 performances last year was that of Lambie, fact. Goosen did nothing on attack or defence bar one fortuitous run that did not get him smashed like the other he attempted. Even at fullback he floundered. An d Jantjies is at best a maybe.

Do you always pick the duds? Mozart is right, your list increases annually, list of flunks making your team!

What a statement to make about duds by a person who constantly praise proven duds as top performers.   The list is endless - Kirchner, De Jongh, Fransie, Morne, Alberts, Matfield, etc.   Matfield was tops 8 years ago - at present he is a flop.

Pfffffhahahaha! This from Bozo who reckons Zane Kirchner is an international superstar while Richie McCaw was never among the top 5 fetchers in the world at any stage of his career!

LMAO!

I sincerely believe that LeTwat is the biggest idiot we've ever had to put up with on these boards. Thank goodness the clown takes himself so seriously because that does give him some comic value . . . his one and only redeeming feature!

None of the players you listed are duds. At best Alberts has intermittent quiet games, something I was the first to mention before he made his Bok debut in 2010! Stay with the times Michael, even though you are a weary ol fellow. But your picks and "analysis" have been flogged to death, brutally exposed. Everything a lie or plain wrong. So bold you are then for one with zero credibility.

Indisputable, yet debunked. I know it eats you up inside that you cannot prove your point. I know that you would so desperately turn to video footage if you could. It must be exhausting spinning new lies each and every day, emotionally exhausting knowing that you are lying but suppressing your conscience and trying to convince yourself it's true. Maybe it is, or maybe it's a well drilled habit? You tell me. Either way, the jig is up, and the only tool left is the mud sling. Another well ingrained habit? I pity you Michael.

That break by Goosen was better than any break Morne has EVER achieved at test level and that after 10 wasted years of having that donkey as our pivot.

Add Etzebeth to the list of players he does not rate.......what a fucking idiot

Lambie won us the English test?????????.....this is how myths are started. What rubbish. he gained exactly zero metres, turned over the ball once and missed kicks to the poles.

When the match was in the balance, and the pom hooker was sent off......Lambie had a  penalty, which he kicked dead. Exactly the mistake Morne was crucified for. That could easily have been a game losing mistake. But of course unlike Morne, Lambkins was given a pass by the Natal set.

Finally at the end of the match he got over a medium difficulty penalty and a drop, rectifying some of his earlier misses. It was a very jittery performance, with no authority at all.

I think I'll go with Mallett's correct take on Lambie and Reinach's performance against the Poms, where he said they were outstanding and should be proud of their performances.

Lambie and Reinach were excellent in that game.

Questioning Lambie as a test standard player is insulting tom say the least especially when one fool mentions the utterly useless Morne as a better option.

What fucking rugby do you gents watch......its clearly not the same as the majority of us out there.

I've been asking that question of Moz for years, but at least he carries some credibility unlike Lestat who is just simply useless on the rugby front.

Nothing much....which is the point. Hospital passes, being smeared backwards, being charged down desperately close to our line and making an atrocious cross kick. And then there is that "helluva mistake" kicking the penalty dead.

That was.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.....outstanding?

This is a continuation of a discussion of on the Goosen thread, I feel it needs it's own thread as it's off topic on the other. So here we have the activities of Lambie against England, it was a typical performance by him, we see these things constantly from game-to-game year-after-year.

  1. 00:21 - Clearance kick deep inside 22, England lineout just outside Bok 22.
  2. 01:19 - Tackle assist, Coetzee the primary tackler. Driven backwards off ruck.
  3. 01:34 - Loose ball from England at ruck, Lambie and fellow Boks with outside-in defence to shepherd ball carrier back inside.
  4. 02:39 - Bok linout; Etzebeth jumper. Lambie with a slow, high floating pass to Serfontein who gets swarmed.
  5. 06:46 - Lambie grabs the waist of attacker and is dragged until Matfield brings him down.
  6. 10:56 - Lambie penalty.
  7. 14:14 - Lambie tackle. Lambie goes low on Barritt who runs gets behind the tackle attempt. Quick ball presented as defence moves backwards.
  8. 15:42 - Lambie conversion.
  9. 16:37 - Lambie attempted tackler assist but gets swatted away from tackler standing in a low Jean tackle.
  10. 21:31 - Lambie tackle. Lambie goes low on Barritt who gets behind the tackle attempt. Quick ball presented as defence moves backwards.
  11. 21:36 - Lambie attempts low tackle on Vunipola who runs through and breaks tackle completely.
  12. 21:54 - Eastmond (12) eyes up Lambie and runs at him, Lambie goes low but 12 gets behind the tackle.
  13. 22:08 - Lambie at ruck base, clears with kick inside Bok 22 which is charged down.
  14. 22:15 - Lambie scrambles back with fellow Boks to win loose ball and stem the tide.
  15. 23:21 - Lambie carelessly takes out Barrit off the ball
  16. 23:30 - Lambie piles into ruck
  17. 23:51 - Lambie rushes out the line in Bok 22 but England attacker (12) draws him only to throw a long pass over him.
  18. 25:57 - Lambie tackles 1 higher but 1 burrows low and presents clean ball.
  19. 27:40 - Lambie restart.
  20. 28:52 - Lambie kicks penalty to touch into England 22.
  21. 29:49 - Lambie with a cross-field kick from deep just outside England's 22 that's far too deep. Wasted opportunity.
  22. 32:16 - Lambie penalty.
  23. 33:05 - England 15 runs toward Lambie and kicks at him, Lambie concedes knocks on.
  24. 35:54 - Lambie restart.
  25. 37:46 - Lambie penalty. misses.
  26. 38:22 - Boks with numbers, Lambie attempts to run it; gets well stopped making no ground.
  27. 39:55 - Lambie attempts to rip the ball off 5 who is tackled by Matfield, gets driven away.

  1. 40:00 - 2nd half restart.
  2. 40:35 - Lambie receives ball deep, chips over rush defence and Boks get try through Willie-Reinach breakout.
  3. 41:58 - Lambie conversion.
  4. 45:45 - Lambie restart.
  5. 48:43 - Lambie restart.
  6. 50:04 - Bok penalty; Lambie kicks for touch.

  10. 59:10 - Lambie gets smashed in possession on England's 22m line.
  11. 60:28 - Bok penalty. Lambie misses kick into the corner for Bok lineout inside England's 22. England were a man down in the forwards after yellow card!
  12. 61:58 - Lambie with an attempted tackle assist, no impact.
  13. 62:42 - Lambie passes from deep to Serfontein. Defence drifts and smothers Bok attackers out wide driving them into touch.
  14. 66:10 - Lambie penalty.
  15. 68:15 - Lambie restart.
  16. 69:52 - Lambie wraps attacker's upper body who receives ball as he stands flat footed in front of Lambie. Attacker gets forward momentum in the tackle presenting quick, clean ball.

It is not worthwhile reading the drivel posted by Letsal.  I read it and then has to stop since I cannot stop laughing.   What he writes is so far removed from reality it is unbelievable.
It is the same as Mozart wrote about how wonderful Morne was in the 2013 Ellis Park test - a situation so distorted that is is difficult to separate truth from fiction.

Ja well Liarmike if you looked at lestat's tape, which you wont because you are too mentally lazy, you will see Lambie doing several things you accuse Morne of:

1) Kicking a penalty at a crucial stage and not finding touch.

2) Getting charged down.

3) Getting dominated in the tackle.

4) Wasting good ball in the 22 with an ill directed cross kick

5) Missing key penalties

6) Passing the ball inside his own 22.

All in the space of one mediocre game.
