1st Half
00:12 - Aussie runs ball straight at S12 inside Wallaby 22 after kick-off from first phase. S12 positions himself to stop Attacker with inside shoulder, but cannot stop momentum of run. S6 comes in from inside S12 and stops attacker with S12 hanging on, holds him up and pushes him to ground.
This was a simultaneous tackle by De Allende by Louw and De Allende - there was no momentum and the ball-carrier went straight down. The description of Disaster was utter BS.
01:39 - AUS L/O, Bok territory. Wallabies run it into seam behind lineout. S12 dives inside and grabs A14 by lower leg, has little effect in the tackle as S7 downs the attacker well behind the gainline.
Perfect tackle by De Allende. Coetzee came into the picture when Horne was already going down and there was no advance "well behind the gainline.
02:51 - SA L/O, Wallaby territory: Set Move; 11-12-13 run up flat, S13 holds his line until a moment before S10 passes, S11 and S12 begin fade out with S13 cutting in front of them back inside. S13 ends with a straight run at outside shoulder of defender and gets behind gainline. Note that in this move, S12 was the wide option to attacking the edge of the defence which is A13s outside shoulder. S13 was the straight runner into traffic.
The description was basically as indicated. It was an angle run by Kriel and did not involve De Allende at all - nobody "faded out"
03:05 - 3rd phase of the same sequence off previous lineout. S12 is now stationed on the short side and attacks outside shoulder of A7 near touchline. Presents quick ball for S9.
Basically correct version.
05:40 - S12 binds onto ruck offering S9 protection on ruck fringe as he clears ball on Bok 22m line.
Basically correct description
07:00 - SA Scrum. S14 at first receiver, S14 takes ball to the line with S12 running hard and flat just inside him. The decoy interchange between S14-S12 holds the drift and gives S10 a bit of space to attack out wide with S13-S15-S11 spreading out the rest of the opposition defence.
07:22 - Wallabies move the ball wide after A12 won turnover from poor S15 offload. S12 is stationed on the edge of the defence out wide. A13 runs towards S12s inside with S1 drifting and following him every step. S12 chooses to hold his position and cover A13 and leave A6 free along the touchline. A13 naturally passes long to A13 who gallops into open space making significant ground before offloading back to A13. The Wallabies are now just outside Bok 22 on the front foot.
This is utter rubbish. De Allende had to defend against 2 players - there were no other defenders available. Kuridrani had the ball in hand and passed it to Fardy just before reaching De Allende. If he did not cover Kuridrani while the latter was carrying the ball - the howls of indignation would have been unending and De Allende would have been wrong. Because he did, he did wrong according to Disaster.
08:00 - Wallabies on the attack and use box formation in the middle of the field on 6th phase just inside of Bok 22. This ropes in the entire Bok midfield and leaves Australia with a 3 v 1 out wide. S12 is now the edge defender and scrambles out wide to cover the space. As he is running laterally, A11 steps inside him and gets in behind a tackle by S2 to take the ball deep inside Bok 22.
Another garbage description with De Allende trying to cover an overlap and Bismarck missing a tackle on the inside. Nothing came from this attack anyway.
10:26 - AUS L/O, Bok territory. A13 targets S12s outside shoulder from first phase. S12 goes low and ankles clasps but has no effect in the tackle. A13 is put down by S13 who cuts back inside to support S12 after his failed tackle attempt. Australia on the front foot and gaining ground.
There was no failed tackle attempt - it was a perfectly good tackle with Kuridrani going down by the time Kriel got involved - the failed tackle attempt is an outright lie
11:53 - SA Scrum; just outside 22, centre field. S8 runs it to the off the back of the scrum passes short to S9. S10 runs a hard line close to S9 to pull two defenders together. S9 passes long behind S10 to S12 who runs into acres of space with S14 along the touchline on his outside and S9 supporting him on his inside.
More or less accurate description
14:15 - SA L/O inside Australia territory. S12 at first receiver and attempts to crash it up flat into seam behind lineout. S12 is driven backwards by A7 before Bok POD arrive to secure and clean possession.
Hooper was off-side when he ran to tackle De Allende from an off-side position. When he tried the tackle - De Allende went backward a step - spinned out of the tackle and went forward with another Aussie player coming up to help in the tackle. De Allende fell forward in the final tackle situation. Penalty awarded and Pollard converted same.
16:58 - S11 brings down A13 out wide, S12 attacks ball and slows down Wallaby ball considerably before being cleared aside.
Correct description
18:45 - Wallaby attacker runs directly into S12 and looks to be breaching it on the inside but for S19 coming in and holding him up, S12 then proceeds to drive attacker laterally inside and forces him to ground eventually with S19 halting his forward movement completely.
Looks like nothing - De Allende tackled him and he went straight down. De Jager joined up after Toomua was going down already.
20:00 - AUS Scrum inside Bok half. A13 attacks S12s outside shoulder and drives S12 back a long way before S13 grabs the back of A13s jersey and pulls him down.
This description is weird. Kuridrani went down in them low tackle - but fell forward -disentangling his feet from the hold of De Allende (regarded statistically as a missed tackle), but Kuridrani could do nothing with the ball as he was already surrounded by other Springboks. No long way gained as alleged by Disaster.
29:23 - A13 runs at S10 to hold him, S13 is ball watching and does not see A15 coming into line. A15 receives offload from A13 and he breezes past the outside of S13. S12 fans out to catch A15 but slips the tackle attempt and easily gassed.
This is another weird description and foolish as well. Since there is an overlap on the outside it is obvious that De Allende had to go out wider. In that process the ball was passed to Horne that went inside. There was no slipped tackle attempt and nobody was gassed as claimed.
31:42 - A12 runs across the face of S12 and draws him out of his channel and pops a pass back inside before S12 smashes him to ground. Australia get well over the gainline through S12s channel and are on the front foot deep inside Bok territory.
What Disaster means here is totally unclear. After the tackle by De Allende the Aussies lost possession of the ball - so what happened in the De Allende channel to take them deep into Bok territory.
32:50 - AUS L/O, just outside Bok 22. A12 at first receiver fixes S10, he has A13-A10-A13 in a staggered formation with A13 leading. A13 runs a hard decoy line between S10-S12 with A10 running across the face of S12 behind A13s advance. Essentially they are running a blocker line, with A13 running a big unders line and A10 running in behind then across the face of S12 to pull him out of his channel and allow A13 to attack that space
upn receiving an inside ball from A10. This is exactly what happened. S12 should have left A10 to S13 and covered A13 and Australia would have been shutdown for, at most, minimal inches. As it was, A13 scored a crucial try because S12 was too reactive and exposed his channel yet again. Clearly Australia are concentrating on S12 as their main entry point through our defence, in this play they had three players target him on his outside and inside shoulder. Not much direct running, they are encouraging him to move and expose his channel and sendsupport runners or a concealed strike runner into that channel.
I could not make out anything from the drivel written here - bar that De Allende according to Disaster covered the wrong player and should have covered S13 and let the outside center (Kriel) cover the flyhalf. This personal opinion cannot be sustained factually by anything in existence on the field of play.
35:15 - A13 runs clean overs line against S12 and gets well in behind him as S12 grabs his ankles and only just disrupts his footing sending him to ground.
This is totally false - it was a very good tackle with Kuridrani going straight down.
37:12 - Boks deep in wallaby territory, on third phase a POD is at first receiver to draw in defenders and have S12 attack the edge of that defence. A similar setup to what the Stormers have been using all season for Damian. Australians do not take the bait and instead drift out immediately to swarm S12 who cuts back inside and manages
to turn in the tackle of A2 and gain some space and momentum for that POD to secure and clean possession quickly.
This is what happened - but what is the POD?
39:54 - S15 at first receiver on third phase. S8 runs a decoy line with S12 taking the ball deep. The Wallaby outside-in defence appears to have him well contained as A14 attempts to grab him from the outside, but over-commits and S12 breaks free and cuts outside A13s outside shoulder as A13 cuts inside to cover that space. S12 breaks that tackle and makes good ground before going to ground as A12 takes him down from behind.
Basically a correct description.
40:57 - On 11th phase, Boks run a box formation in the middle of the field, with S12 the pocket runner. The idea is to use the forwards to hold the defenders in their channel and have S10-S12 attack the edge of the defence. Australia do not commit to the ploy - another similar setup the Stormers use to get Damian on the outside - and S10 decides to carry the ball back inside where a POD of S8-S3-S1 are on hand to secure possession.
41:16 - 14th phase, S12 is positioned on the short-side. He takes it off S9 and carries it into traffic. S2 lends a helping hand with a monstrous clear out.
Basically a correct description.
41:48 - Australia attempt a breakout from their own 22. A15 and A10 have a nice little interchange before A10 attempts a behind-the-back flick pass which floats over the top of A13. S12 is in the vicinity and gathers the loose ball and gets behind A13 and A6. A3 takes S12 by the lower leg and brings him to ground midway into Wallaby 22.
Basically a correct description.
2nd Half
40:40 - A13 runs at S12 and beats him cleanly breaking the attempted tackle.
This is one of the tackles missed by Dw Allende
43:47 - S12 runs off S9 and cuts inside A2 who grabs him and doesn't let him go. This is compounded further by A4 coming over the top as S12 goes to ground but he does get the ball out quickly.
Correct Version
50:45 - A13 runs it back after high ball from Boks. Defence is drifting, but S12 makes a school-boy error and turns his back to his inside, A13 darts inside S12s channel and beats S12 cleanly gaining good ground before S10 brings him to ground.
The "school boy error" story is absolute rubbish. The defense was lined up according tow hat was happening and the implication is that De Allende must abandon his position to cover something that could maybe have happened. That is what can be dreamt up after the fact - and is as comments absolute BS.
51:58 - Australia going through the phases, working the ball from side-to-side. A21-A14. S12 sees it coming and takes A14 down quickly with a nice strong hit in the mid-section.
Correct description
56:53 - A15 runs across the face of S12 back inside and beats S12 cleanly. S12 manages fingertip grasp with no effect. S4 takes A15 high and halts his charge.
Correct description - De Allende missed tackle
61:46 - Wallabies run another box formation, but with A7 attacker pulling out and the other (A1) being a decoythreatening to attack space between S10-S12. Box morphs into staggered line of 3: A12-A15-A13, with A14 stretched out wide along the touchline. A10 takes ball to line just inside S10, so S10 is being held both inside and outside and the strike runner A12 coming in behind that A1 decoy to attack space between S10-S12. The ploy is to get some separation between the two, the staggered line is condensed and the extra man causes problems. S12 is per-occupied with A15 and does not pick up A12 coming in behind A1, so he drifts too far out and leaves a space that is too great for S10 to compensate for and A12 is away. But for A15 losing control of the ball, Australia would have had a certain try!
Absolute clap-trap. De Allende was covering Folau - who was in the line at that stage. if he went for Kuridrani and the ball was passed to Folau there would have been a certain try. As it was the ball was passed to Folau afterwards - he knocked it on.
63:56 - Boks win a turnover after a highball reception by A15. S9 sends a long pass behind S8 and two other forwards out to S10. S10-S15-S12. S12 is in open space out wide with S13 along the touchline. He runs a clean overs line against A7 who scrags him by the ankle. S12 offloads to S13 who comes back inside instead of passing to S14 who would have been free for a run down the touchline.
This is also claptrap - De Allende could pass to Pietersen - who was on the sideline and would have been pushed out of play with ease - that is why he went inside. Pietersen was not in the clear and with the speed deficiency of Pietersen there was no chance that he would not have been pushed out of play.
64:05 - Boks are losing ground as a result of S13s prior error and almost lose control of ball. S12 grabs bobbling loose ball and straightens up the attack and forces his way forward in the tackle of A18, who is around his ankles, and A13 who takes him high. Eventually he is forced to ground after A13 stands him up for a moment. Boks have some much needed momentum now.
Correct description
66:17 - S8 tackles A7 from behind with S12 assisting and attacking subsequent breakdown.
66:51 - A13 cuts inside after a long pass out. He breaks the tackle of S13 who jumped the line and turns in the tackle of S12, getting in behind him. S12 has him by the shorts but A13 is marching forward until S4 stops him and puts him to ground. Australia on the front foot inside Bok 22.
Crap Kuridrani was marching nowhere and he went straight down
67:44 - Australia turnover ball via gathered over-throw by S2. A21 sends a long pass out to A22 who runs at S12 and beats him cleanly on the inside. S6 knocks him to ground.
De Allende made a clean tackle - Louw came up later and it was in fact while the player tackled by De Allende was already going down.
68:05 - A23 runs at S12 out wide and goes to ground willingly and presents clean ball for the return phases in the opposite direction.
Weird - "the player went down willingly" when he ws tackled by De Allende - there was nothing "went down willingly" involved, he was tackled.
68:32 - A20 runs at S7 and S12 jumps the line to cut him off from the outside and assist in pushing him to ground before moving out quickly to take up defensive position.
More or less correct
68:45 - Ball popped out to S12 from ruck deep in Bok half, S12 is near touchline. He readies himself to attack the
outside shoulder of A23 before ref blows whistle.
????
69:40 - AUS L/O, Bok 22. Australia maul. A long pass out to A22. A22 runs out then in, and attacks S12s inside shoulder beating him cleanly. S? puts him down by covering the space between himself and S12 very closely. Perhaps Meyer instructed him to be weary of that little ploy by the Australians.
What has this weird deduction to do with De Allende?
69:50 - Deep inside Bok 22. The third phase of the previous attacking sequence. A5 runs at S12 but loses the ball trying to twist in the tackle as he is going to ground from a low tackle by S20.
It was a perfectly good tackle and De Allende got the ball going forward in this case. he commentator said good tackle and that was it.
76:40 - A23 looks up and targets S12. He drives his way forward as S10 assists S12 in the tackle. Eventually they all go to ground with little ground gained or lost. Penalty Australia.
Drives himself forward and no ground gained????????
78:46 - S12 attacks ruck but is cleaned out quickly.
79:10 - S12 Attacks ruck. Slows down ball, Bok surge wins turnover.
81:07 - Boks defending desperately deep inside their 22. S12 assists in tackle out wide. Pulls out quickly to take up defensive position.
What can be deduced from the above is clear. Disaster knew he would be laughed at if attacking De Allende in respect of other facets of play - so he decided to go for his defense. That is where he cooked up the worst lies imaginable and made some really weird comments about what to his mind De Allende should have done. On the whole he was totally inaccurate and in some cases just lied straight out about what happened.
