Those fun loving Barking Dogs are at it againOctober 01, 2015, 06:20:04
You have to admit they have pluck. Totally discredited last weekend, they might have folded. But no, with the announcement of the new team, supposedly the loyal Bok fans should now be on the defensive.
Hilariously Pervert who last week had Samoa by 6 is challenging the loyal fans to call for a Bok win.....as if with him it was ever thus.
HasBEEn-ou is rampant with the absence of Matfield intimating this is a body blow to the Bok loyalists.
And Omelette aka Fattex is warning Scotland that this new team will take them apart.
Largely absent so far is Carbuncle aka Clone who last week was hoping for a Bok loss, to punish who one wonders.
In truth the team is little changed. It has been pretty much like this all year. JP and Vermeulen are back, but they were back last week when the Dogs hated the team.
Du Preez starts in place of Pienaar, but that was obviously going to happen if du Preez was fit. And none of the Dogs were calling for him.....there was a lot of Reinaching and Faffing, nothing about du Preez. So that can't be the cause of their joy.
Pollard is still in instead of Lambie, hardly a positive for Carbuncle though....he still pines for the understated if not invisible Lambie at 10. Dave to his credit has stood with early adopters like yours truly and supported Pollard. Mike I think still pines after Swiel, he likes the cute ones.
So one is forced to conclude that all this happy happy joy joy comes from the misfortunes of Jean and Victor. We have Allende and Kriel and we have Lomp. But then we had the same three against NZ and Oz for most of those games.
One would hope by now the Boks recognize that Allende/Kriel are pretty hopeless defenders and get them some patterns that might help. And perhaps the forward coach can suggest to Lomp that he might occasionally call Etzebeth's number. Whether that will help is dubious.
Still Victor will rest until the QF which will help the hammie. And we will beat Scotland, although not without some anxious moments. By about 10 I'd say. And the Barking Dogs will applaud that enthusiastically, because after all it's a totally new team.
