With his slight build, very narrow shoulders and pace.....fullback seems the obvious choice. Hell I could get quite enthusiastic about that.

Flyhalf, played there all his life and that's where he has proven himself. Doesn't need to be a 100Kg to win us matches, he's a quick thinker and needs to be involved to get the best out of him.

Balls on the Moron's part again.   Flyhalfs have to have match reading ability - but the two morons do not think that isimportant.   Build has nothing to do with that.   So their dud choices are based on physical build without regard to ball sense and playing ability - that makes them the morons they are.
Their stupidity is further illustrated by their assumption that pace is not a requirement of full backs - and their equal stupidity when it comes to pace evaluation.  Anybody who says that the Steyn's are not notoriously paceless - must have their heads read.
Goosen is a flyhalf - proven agaiin his last few games he played for Racing Metro - who can play at full back - if required .

I predicted in 2012's Super XV he would eventually find his way to 15. We are seeing coaches play him there because of his inability to perform well at 10. At the Cheetahs he was a cog in a well oiled machine.

The Mozart moron did not realize that the BS he writes on this site resembles qucking and that he writes himself into a mire,   Hence the description of his zero thinking contribution as being in a quackmire.

No contest at all, he is a 10, made no impression at 15.

He is a great 10, possibly SA's best. Just like Lambie he is not a 15.....both a classy 10's.

You need more physicality at 15 than you do at 10.......Goosen and Lambie lack physicality.

Witness Halfpenny of Wales, he offers nothing with ball in hand, when last did you see this guy do anything on attack. He gets selected for his goal kicking and at best solid at the back. He lacks physical clout

Who has the best chance of having to try and stop a forward or a loose forward on defence? The flyhalf or the fullback?

Saffex for years you said that Lambie should play fullback, now you have changed your stance that he is only a flyhalf.
How exactly is Halfpenny more physical than Lambie.

Cera, that's not the criteria used to decide what number should be on a players back. Sure it would have some influence,  but it was never the FH's job to deal with the opposing loosies on his own. There might still be quite some vallue in Goosen at 10. I'm not nearly convinced yet, but not ready to disregard him either. Same with Pollard and Lambie, the last being my most nervous pick at 10. Goosen looked very good at 10 when he jumped on the scene,  no need to take it as a given that he will always be an injury concern. Still lots of time to prove or disprove his worth.

Um Sharktwat where did I say that Halfpenny is more physical than Lambie huh? Did I not say Halfpenny lacked physicality.
Actually I have always said Lambie is a 10 who can play 15 and my calls for him at 15 were in the days when Willie was not about and the options at 15 were limited. So my ca ll was that Lambie should have been at 15, Taute at 13 and Goosen at 10 at the time.
It was a case of getting your best 15 on the field

 Mozart
Wrong  ibn virtually every case - most of the teams hve basically the same size full backs and flyhalfs.  Some flyhalfs is in fact slightly smaller than the full backs.   England - Ford and Brown - for example.   Carter is not bigger than Dagg or Ben Smith - even if he is playing.   Priestland is slimmer than Halfpenny - but not physically heavier.
If SA plays Pollard at 10 - he is bigger than Le Roux - if they play Goosen or Lambie - no sugnificant difference in weight and size.
But then you want the slow thinkers Fat Fransie and Morne at flyhalf - something that hopefully will never materialize.  You need thinking players in that position.
Are you ever right?

Out of date again.  Farrell was replaced by George Ford and you did not even realize that - doffies again.   Incidentally Farrell was one game moved to no 12 and the next game left out.   Keep up to date - when you make statements.
There has been a variety of flyhalfs playing for Wales and Priestland was the one who played more often than Biggar did.
You nitpicked Carter - becquse he is 2 lb heavier than Smith - but Dagg is the more regular full back for the AB's.   Carter has virtually no game time in tests this year and when he did he failed.   Why not Barrett or Cruden - the regular NZ flyhalfs?
As per normal the moron is ducking and diving again - using out-of-date information to prove a point.  Living in the past is bad news.

Goosen looked good at 10? He certainly did his job, but from the Bulls annihilation in the 2012 Super XV the writing was on the wall. You had the blueprint to defeat them through his channel. .

Lambie on the otherhand is a player that sinks into himself. He has had all the support but just cannot deliver on the hype.

True to form, Dim Gimp finds some obscure and unwarranted reason to tell us for the millionth time how much he hates Patrick Lambie. Man I'd love to know what Dim Gimp's girlfriend or boyfriend had to say about Lambie that caused these levels of hatred!
Or maybe Dim Gimp has a dandruff problem? LMAO!
Dim Gimp, please don't explode in a big puff of rage but right now Pat Lambie is Heyneke Meyer's first choice for the Springbok #10 jersey at next year's RWC.

I don't hate Lambie, hence why my posts are rugby related, something yours - in all the fourteen years I have read them - have lacked. I don't think Meyer will start Lambie again. The numbers speak for themselves, the performances and results were no accident. Meyer wants attack and stability and he didn't get it. Our halfbacks were completely dominated.

"finds some obscure and unwarranted reason to tell us for the millionth time how much he hates Patrick Lambie."

I was responding to Draad's post above which says:

"...how he hates Lambie"

There's no hate for Lambie, Lestat has given his reasons why he thinks Lambie is a failure at ten.....don't link others to a sentiment with which you are naturally gifted... now instead of your usual Nyaaah Nyaaah Nyaaah character assassination of posters you hate, front up with your reasons as to why Lambie should be the Bok 10...or is that too much to ask of a yellow bellied coward?

Like I said before, there's a place for Lambie. If you want an option on the bench for a safe fullback, he will give you that safety. He is the safest of all our options at 15 under the high ball and can do the basics well enough. He doesn't make mistakes, generally.

If Goosen is too fragile at 10, then how about wee crude and beau barrat? Goosen you have to remember was extremely yoiung when selected fro the Boks - 20 years old. He was playing Super rugby when 19.
To me he is at least as physical as Cruden or barret and will be more so. Goosen isa very good flyhalf in the amking. I am less sure of him at 15.
Naas Botha was one of our greatest flyhlaves and the loosies did the tackling. It can be managed and the wee abs manage cruden and barrat. Goosen has more class than either of those two.Hope the Fren ch see his talent and dont waste time on Carter.

Goosen is 89 kg according to Wiki. I would not be surprised if that was a little higher.
He will gain a  few extra kg and be a respectable weight for a flyhalf.

The base structure of a person can only support so much additional mass without compromising structural integrity. More mass means more stress on bones, joints, ligaments and tendons. More torque. If Goosen bulks up, he'll be even more prone to injuries.
