I'm up against Ou Maaik in the League and a team called "Horrorcanes" in the SC Cup.

My Cup opponent Horrorcanes looks like he has a decent team but he does have 7 players in his current squad who are all on a bye this week, so a lot will depend on whether or not he has enough transfers available.

Talking of transfers, Ou Maaik, have you decided whether or not you're using your Wildcard this weekend? I can confirm that I am and I have a smoking hot team this round!

On another note, Sasuke, do you remember at the start of the season you and I both put up a "cheapo" for Foxsport fantasy managers to consider?

Just thought I'd remind you that my tip - Jesse Kriel - has scored 178 points and his value has gone from FR$115000 to FR$283600 while your pick - Seta Tamanivalu - has scored a measly 68 points and his value has increased from FR$115000 to FR$153000. I'm going to call that Rooinek 1, Sasuke nil for now. Only mentioning this because I believed you and I bought Tamanivalu a few weeks back but whatever form he showed in your ITM Cup, he didn't bring that form to Super Rugby and he's looked decidedly average so far. Tamanivalu was the first victim of the Lightbringers Wildcard Purge this week!

I am not sure yet - because there is not much difference between what I can do with the Wildcard selection and what I can do with just going for 4 transfers.   Last week I score donly 438 points - largely because of a poor captaincy selection and the fact that I only had 13 players and 2 bench players I could gather points from.
I am actually as happy with my straight selection as I am with the team I come up using my Wildcard.
However, I have two players from the Bulls in my team - Pollard and Kriel - and the clueless Ludeke has not announced the Bulls team as yet.  If they both are not in - the Wildcard selection would be a given.

Ou Maaik, Pollard is out. I put up the Bulls team a few minutes ago on your team thread.

Thanks Rooinek - I got the team and was thoroughly screwed  so I had to use my Wildcard.   I will be fair to you and provide my side:-
PR   -   Oosthuizen, KitshoffHO  -    Matu'uLO  -    Whitelock, EtzebethBR  -    Whiteley, Gibbens, Poc ockSH  -    Reinach
FH  -    CrudenCE  -    Williams, KereviOB  -    Savea, Nadolo, Kriel
I have sufficient bench players to limit the damage of the bye's next week - but had to sacrifice Naholo to get the team together.  I have Folau, De Allende, Hooper, Cooper and Kepo on the bench.   There will be 4 players affected by the byes - and 3 of those are adequately covered on the bench - the fourth is Cruden - I will just trade him for Pollard.
Good luck to you!!!!!!

I have two tough opponents this week: Juicers in the head-to-head, he has always  been tough; and Tenacious T in the SC cup. He has a very strong team and scored 584 in round 7 We will see how it goes but I will need some serious good luck.

Ou Maaik,

We have quite a few players in common. My Foxsport team . . .

PR: B Alexander, C Oosthuizen (S Kepu)
HK: S Moore (K Cooper)
LK: L Romano, S Fardy (M Wentzel)
LF: M Coetzee, S Kolisi, K Read (M Hooper)
SH: F Hougaard (A Smith)
FH: C Lealifano (D Catrakilis)
CT: B Odendaal, S Kerevi (K Beale)
OB: N Nadolo, J Kriel, J Savea (I Folau)

Assuming no injuries or diabolical selections, I shouldn't need any trades to have a full team next weekend.

I'm not sure who to make my captain this week . I'm leaning towards Christian Lealifano but I haven't decided for sure yet.

Good luck! Are you still alive in the Cup?

Just_win, not too many easy games in our conference. I had Lukes Canes last week, I've got Ou Maaik this week and then the next three weeks I have Oimatey, Juicers and Black Power (Abasque). Whew!

Rooinek - I have decided to make Nadolo my captain - but may change to Savea or even Williams.  I think we have 5 players that match each others team - so there is quite a lot of scope for the other 10 players to decide who will do best.
Desperately wanted Moore - but could not afford him.  Took Etzebeth because he is a cheapie.

Etzebeth a cheapie at FR$310100?

You could have spent less than half that on a real lock who can last longer than 60 minutes and won't spend half his time on the field looking for confrontation.

Nadolo is usually my captain but I just have a feeling the rested and fresh Brumbies will run riot against a tired and homesick Cheetahs team who are not the best travellers at the best of times.

I have picked Cooper at 10 but had to hold my nose, Saders are not playing the Brumbies Rooinek, I have picked Nadalo as my captain as saders back line should do ok against the steyn-less sharks

 Huge mistake JW
Steyn is one of the worst tacklers in the competition and his absence will improve the Sharks defense.   Changed my mind again - I have made Cruden my captain.

I may select Slade instead of Cooper.
Cruden will not be available next week because of the Bye so you will have to take that into consideration.

 Rooinek
The average price of the 23 players I have in my squad is $318 239.   Anything in the range eblow that figure is for me a cheapie.

Anyone considering Matt Tomua. Brumbies may give it to the Cheetahs, as their defense is not the best. I am going to have only one IB this weekend, due to only four trades and already used the WC.
Props: Coenie, Alexander
Hooker: Matu'u
Locks: Romano
Backrow: Whitely, Cane, Vito
SH: Reinach
FH: Toomua
IB: SBW
OB: Savea, Kriel, Nadolo

 Rooinek
You have done well with your 3 players who played thus far  and I see you have heavily banked on the brumbies-Cheetahs game to produce high points by having 6 players plus your captain from that match.   I am not at all sure of putting too many of my eggs in one basket - even though I went for five players in the Stormers - Hurricanes game.
The Brumbies - Cheetahs game could be an entertaining one - with a lot of points being scored - but I am very wary of that game.   The Cheetahs did not do at all badly against the Chiefs losing by only 10 points and they have a much better team on the field of play tomorrow.   So it may not be as easy a game for the Brumbies as it would appear at first glance.
