"Springbok utility back Frans Steyn looks set to join French side Montpellier in the Top 14 after this year’s Rugby World Cup. Montpellier are coached by former Springbok coach Jake White, who has lured several South Africans to the club for the 2015/16 season.
Steyn made his Springbok debut against Ireland in Dublin in 2006 when White was still the national team's coach. Steyn has vast experience of playing in the Top 14, having previously represented Racing Metro between 2009 and 2012.
It is still unsure if Steyn will form part of Heyneke Meyer’s final 31-man World Cup squad, which is due to be announced next Friday."
Bearing in mind Steyn's performance for the Sharks on Super 15 level since his return from Racing Metro in 2012 he will be no loss to the Sharks. Meyer may be crazy enough to include him in the Springbok squad - he definitely performed too poorly and has been out of rugby since May 2015 when he was injured and to pick him now with that record will be a typical example of Meyer Madness.
White is welcome to have him - but my sincere sympathy goes out to Ebersohn, since he will be neutralized by Fransie playing at 12 and White will blame Ebersohn for not performing.
