Frans is the missing piece. What a shame that we end up with three centres who are routinely dominated by their peers. Weakest trio I have ever seen the Boks field.

Frans has a bit too much ego for South African rugby. He wasn't a humble enough seuntjie . Great player with mental strength. How many 21 year old kickers have the fortitude to put the WC away with a challenging kick. Another sacrifice on the altar of collegial mediocrity.

Bongster Mok, Frans plays the position well, better than any other 12 in SA. What I say isn't removed from reality, it's a fact. The problem here is that you, like most Saffers, have no comprehension of what a 12 must be. To you a 12 is a wing and you cannot perceive how that upsets the balance of the backline. Ignorant would be an understatement, so just sit back and enjoy your bong, that which you know best. Leave the rugby to the rugby folk.

The problem with Frans Steyn is that everyone knows he rarely passes.
It is a disease of centre play in South Africa- but Frans Steyn will rarely pass the ball hogging it as if it w as his last lunch.

And his last lunch is all the bugger in fact is interested in. He came back from France weighing 118 kgs and could not get rid of it.
What our two resident idiots (Mozart and DF) refuse to understand is that Fransie was an early developer who went to seed early as well. The fact that he was so lauded initially may have had a seriously detrimental affect on him - he became egocentric and believed he can bugger up as much as he likes and is still tops.
And buggered up he did in virtually all matches since his return from France. His stats was putrid since he came back in tests and Super 15 - he was pathetic in most matches and I gave specific examples of what happened in specific matches and the two ran like cowards from facts and repeat there praise songs again and again. Reality has not hit home and never will - Steyn for some reason or other after a brilliant start became one of the poorest centers in South Africa. The main problem seems to be that he suffers from a serious weight problem - plainly put he is as fat as a pig and try to play at center carrying way too much excess weight.

According to a survey Steyn received 82% of the vote from Springbok supporters to replace Jean.

Meyer would have mentioned players being on the short list - but not first on the list in any event. I do not think that Vrot Fransie would have been the right player to call up - his performances this year was putrid, he has an untreatable knee problem that impact on his pace and sideways movement and he was injured and gactully anpother hospital ward case.
To big a gamble that one. Experience in his case is meaningless - since his performance record is way below par. Calling him up would have killed off the backline of the Springboks comprehensively.
