Who is this guy who made the rather controversial statements?   Unfortunately some of what he says is true - but hr also made some statements - like the nationalization of banks, which is not true.    

In a sense Mike it is true...I worked for Absa...private yes...knew Piet Badenhorst...quoted shares but totally govt controlled..just window dressing...typically deceptive...ask uncle Bob...hidden agendas. When I was in Russia I was told by Russians that from 1917 to 1953 the Government in the USSR was responsible for the killing and murder of 52 million people.  Gorbachev himself said his brothers died of starvation in the 1930's.
In a recent book I read a major in the USSR Army himself said :  "Since 1917 they tried to turn us into a cogwheel of the revolution and kill the spirit of the Russian people.  For years we have lived without a purpose in life.  But the Russian spirit lives - terrible to see."
Yeltsin himself found that the system was destroying the people of Russia.  He regarded the murder of the Tsar as a stain on Russia and a sin  and had the Ipatiev House where the family was killed demolished and was later instrumental in the building of the Cathedral of the Blood on the site.   
However, there is real truth about the manipulation of people by Governments all over the world.  It does not happen only in certain countries.  I can remember a friend of mine was borne in SA and his father went to the then Southern Rhodesia where he grew up and married a woman from the then Salisbury.  They had a son and daughter born in what is today Zimbabwe.  When the children was ready to go to University he went temporarily to live and start a business in Durban in 1978 - but he had huge business interests in Zimbabwe as well and every 14 days he would go back to deal with his factories in Zimbabwe.   In 1982 there was apparently somebody who wanted to take over his local interests in Zimbabwe and the Zim Government  revoked his passport and he for months through legal means tried unsuccessfully to get his passport back.  He told em the story and I said to him that throughout the world public servants function the same - whether in Washington, London, Moscow or Pretoria.  I then said I would write a letter to the Zim Government department involved using classical public servant language if he is prepared to sign the letter.  He signed the letter and 3 months later he had his passport back.
The moral of the story is we are governed by politicians using public servants as cogwheels to further their own - often rapacious - objectives.  The more dictatorial the Governments are the bigger the looting and the oppression they use against their own people.  They would not hesitate to start wars if they can benefit financially from the outcome.  People deny it - but that was the thing that resulted the Iraq war - both Bush and Blair lied through their teeth about so-called weapons of mass destruction.  Where are we now twelve years later - in one of the biggest crisis the Mid-East has ever seen.

The above is typical of what happened constantly - whenever I make a comment on anything the response of Mozart is always a denigrating personal attack on me.  I must either choose to ignore it or try and put is tight.   
I do not like to respond to that type of thing - but sometimes think that some response is necessary to clarify things.  This is not the first time Mozart does it to fellow-members - previously it was Dave and a number of other members he successfully drove away from the site.
I think he thinks that he thinks the site is his own personal domain and everybody   else writing comments he does not like,  results in personal attacks on them.  He obviously is trying to get rid of me from the site, but I am not going to be driven away by him.    Maybe knowing his objective in this case, the best advice is to ignore it and carry on.
