Having watched the game again, the Boks played better in the first half than I thought they did. Things clicked in the last quarter which resulted in 4 tries.

Despite being a dominant performance by the Boks in the end, the Boks lost at least 4 tries due to poor handling, and also lost momentum on other good attacking movements.

If their is one area of the game the Boks are not the best as, it is handling skills by the backline.

The second area is "sometimes" the breakdown.

If it is a bad day for the Boks, losing the breakdown and poor handling skills still make the Boks beatable.

They have improved their running lines under Tony Brown, giving the ball carrier more options to go wide which suits playing more skilful players over the likes of Kriel and Delande.

If the Boks could improve their handling skills they would convert more attacking movements into points. .

Also identifying opportunity as I showed in my post a little earlier. Coming into this game we had the worst conversion rate for entries into the 22 / points of any team in the competition if I recall correctly. Most entries, lowest conversion rate.

I know 2 certainties - namely a try by Snyman was disallowed because Reinach knocked on the ball and one by Kolbe when he lost possession inside the score area

Of all the players I saw Reinach's rating as 5.5 - since he knocked on balls 3 times and gave away a pealty as well. .

Sharkbok

why are you doing this?

mike is usually the negative one.

every single team in every single game has handling errors that cost points.

why choose this great occasion to bring these things up?

Rassie and the coaching team are probably thinking the same thing: How can the Boks maintain this standard and consistently perform at the same level?

If the breakdown and handling by the backline is not good on the same day, the Boks are beatable.

(As Australia proved in the first test versus the Boks).

The All Blacks are class opposition, but the current team is not good under the high ball.

Sometimes the Boks kick a bit too much on attack when it is better to pass the ball through the hands quickly.

It is a work in progress. Tony Ball is improving the Bok attack, and this should continue to grow..

The Boks are not as sophisticated as Oz or the Bargies in the passing game. But we did start offloading yesterday….11 times to the ABs 8, perhaps the first time we have ever led on this stat. Snyman, Dud Toit, Moody and Willemse all offloaded twice.

Now we need to work on the double wing attack, which gives the option for a game line pass if a gap opens up,
