I am afraid not - none of the pre-season CC games were televised and the newspaper reports on the matches de Villiers played in was scrappy.  It indicated he was in the team and the last game playing for 80 minutes - but not a word about how he performed.
I am afraid the general public is totally in the dark about his performances and that may become clearer in the upcoming two tests he will play - possibly from the bench

Jean de Villiers: Back in the Bok camp

Western Province coach John Dobson has warned that Springbok centre Jean de Villiers is still some way short of his best form.

De Villiers is back in the Bok camp after completing 80 minutes for WP in a friendly against the Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

While Dobson has been impresed the Springbok captain, who is on the comeback trail after suffering a horrific knee injury against in November, he admitted De Villiers still has a lot of work to do.

" To be brutally honest, if you watched that game [against the Kings], you wouldn't think that Jean is a world leading centre. But his progression is significant every week," Dobson told Times Live.

"What isn't in doubt is his appetite, energy and bravery but, by his own admission, he still has a way to go.

"Jean insisted on playing 80 minutes against the Kings, so he went to the wing on the hour because we wanted to look at other centre options,"

"He was really happy with the way he could accelerate, and he could have scored but dropped a ball. He was definitely sharper this week.

"Jean left us to join the Boks yesterday - he wasn't sure if he would be picked against Argentina, but that was just him being modest I think."

when his coach admits that JdV has a lot of work to do it means that he's not even fit,.... let alone inform.
I don't think he's fit for a test match,........ and it coukl be risky to make him play unfit ,..... injuries come a lot easier

We'll just have to wait and see how he goes. Alot is riding on him and Frans, so it we should cross fingers he steps up okay. Argentina will provide a good physical examination for him.

I assume you are talking of Frans Venter - he is the only decent center by the name of Frans in SA.
