Very funny Osama...although, I suspect your Afganistan reference will offend a few folks.

Hah nice Osama.

Very quick on the uptake!

What a great innings!

I have a feeling we may see Smith cashing in on a triple in the not too distant future!

He has the balls and patience to do it!

Well played Hash!

Great one daffi! Hash looks years younger with some  hair!

We have some very gifted batmen. Smith. Amla, Kallis and AB. Alviro is polished but came to the fore late in his career. Can he make it is still a question. I also doubt whether Rudolf will dominate but we shall see how they go. Rudolf was crazy to chuck up his leg spinning.

Dumny is a bit of a mystery. Hugely talented (Recall that 168 against oz down under) but perhaps a little frail mentally. Kirsten will get his mind right if anyone can. Also batting down the order may be the making of him and he must take that off spinning very seriously as he could become a very useful allrounder. He bowls with a nice loop and dip. Gets a bit of drift at times and can turn a ball.

Duminy has all the makings of a really good batting allrounder.

  1. really good technique
  2. looks hungry for runs
  3. looks comfortable against pace now days
  4. great loop and drift when he bowls

Its just a matter of giving him enough opportunity in tests.

His slot at 6 in the ODI's is cemented for now.

I have a feeling we may get to see some huge scores from him too in time to come!

Yeah Beeno I have been thinking that exact same thing. They should really utilize Duminy's bowling more as i think he is an answer in the middle order. Jacques rudolph when he is mentally in the right place is extremely dangerious as an opeings batsman. i still rate him there above Alviro as he bats way faster, he just needs to learn some control and play down the ground and not take wild shots the way he does. But his aggression can be well utilised down the order as well. His international batting average does not support his talent. I whish he can stand up for a change and back the talent with runs.

If Duminy continues to improve as spinner we have a complete attack. As it is he is not far off from being a front line bolwer.  Batting at six and getting runs gives confidence. Steve Waugh had a whale of a time at 6. Is Rudolf at 7  -come to think of it I though he was 6? One recalls how Hussey bloomed late in life so lets hope Alviro and Rudolf do the same.

I keep hearing Philander is a much better bat than his test average suggests. I do not watch much provincial stuff these days - how good is he. Guys like Steyn, Morkel and Philander  need to perform with the bat. How often in the past have we not benefited from the tail putting on 100 runs or even more.

When you are aiming at top spot you want no weakenesses.  Still cant quite get over the awesome display. I did not expect it.

Philly is a decent batsman. At his best, he can rip into an attack.

I've seen him and Rory Kleinveldt do it on a few occasions for the Cobras.

In my opinion, he is lacking a bit of confidence at the moment with his batting.

He is the kind of guy who would need 1 decent knock of 70 - 80 runs, and he'll be on the road from then on end.
