Heyneke Meyer...
Reason(s)??
Meyer overlooked Jaco Kriel, the most potent no6 in SA. He had a great season this year in Super Rugby. It's shocking to see him not in the squad, worldwide people are really questioning this decision, they can't believe it.
The selection of the Mohoje and JP is a real laughing stock, both have done nothing this year, they don't deserve to be in the squad. Combrinck should be in the squad ahead of slow JP.
Johan Ackermaan has a better understanding of the modern game as a coach, he would bring transformation to the team by altering the game plan and by selecting players based on merit. Ackermaan should be the bok coach after Meyer fails miserably at the RWC.

Despite your comments I think that it is better to have at least the ability to play all-round games as well and our recent performances do not inspire confidence at all. As Mozart said there is a lot of dead wood in the squad as announced and these should be weeded out before it is too late.

Mikey, No attacking team has won the WC....read my lips.
You lose you go home, no seconds, finish en klaar.
Defence my friend, in a WC format, from the quarters onwards.... rules.
What was that score again in the last WC final? ...mmmm...thank you.
Meyer is continually disappointing.
J antjies, Kitshoff, Damian, Malherbe, Lambie, Reinach, Steph... a lot of fan favourites. Most of whom have proven nothing!
And for the record, I doubt very much Ackerman knows more than Meyer about any era of rugby. That is quite laughable.
The most contested game Kriel played was against the Stormers. He did well. But just for comparison I put up Burger's stats. Their running productivity was about the same....but Burger had three offloads. On defence Schalk made a stunning 23 tackles.
Kriel took 5 lineouts which he does from time to time. But the thing that distinguishes him is the barn storming runs. My guess is HM felt he couldnt reproduce those in a WC setting. That and the raft of quota selections probably lies behind this decision.....not malice.
You are nuts you know. Mohoje was anything but "one of those very rare players who does just his job, plain and simple. Everything is efficient and productive. We need that."
Please inform us when Mohoje did all that. He was quite useless in the tests he played in and his role was minimal. He was part of the forwards who failed badly in the Irish and Welsh tests last year. Remember also that both Lambie and Reinach played in the tests they won on the EOYT. And both were on the field of play in the AB test which Lambier saved for us after an extreme foul-up by Matfield - which let to an AB try.
I have no problem with Burger - the question is why were duds like Alberts and Mohoje selected ahead of Kriel?
the question is why were duds like Alberts and Mohoje selected ahead of Kriel?
The answer for Mohoje is simple - politics, i.e. a quota selection.
Are you an imbecile or just pretending to be one. The highlight for the Springboks was in a test they lost badly against the Irish,
Your imbecility makes it hard to believe anything you say. Victor stood tall by taking minimal line-outs after the Irish test and got pushed out of the way time and again earning a yellow card in the English test - where he was piss-poor. Lambie was NOT the reason for the loss of the Welsh test - it was the forwards - and in particular Matfield who folded and caused the loss of the Springboks. Incidentally neither Lambie is my hero - I just rebut the BS you and Mozart constantly spread about the player on this site. I recognised mistakes made by Lambie in games - but do not go bananas in character assassination - I leave that too you two.
Get it into your thick skulls - I criticize player performances based on facts - that is not character assassination. You make wild statements - mostly totally devoid of any facts about players. My factual criticism is not character assassination - your mostly factless generalizations are.

RE: Heyneke Meyer...
June 28, 2015, 09:03:00 There are two other selections I have serious doubts about and that is Jaque Fourie and Fourie Du Preez. Both are injured after not playing rugby for near to 4 months. Du Preez has had only 12 games in 15 months fir his club and the Springboks.
I guess that, in view of the above, you would not want PSDT anywhere near the side as well. He hasn't played any rugby for near four months either. He has also only played 7 full games and 36 minutes of one game in the last 15 months. That is five less than FDP.
If they had off-field injuries what will happen if they have to play in matches?
This kind of crap happens. Should I talk you through Johan Goosen getting of the team bus?
These two players are NOT match fit and is selected purely on reputation.
Is PSDT match fit, and on what criteria was he selected?
You missed out on half the argument because you are so dumb. This has nothing to do with Du Toit - who played opn much higher level in Super 15 - not Japanese club rugby every 14 days. What you missed out on is the fact that it is accepted all round that players coming back from Japan is unfit - pace-deficient and not up to standard. That applied to both Du Preez and Fourie - as well as other players like Pietersen, Grant and Francois Steyn.
This has bugger-all to do with Goosen who is not in the squad at all. So why rake that up Dofdoos?
Du Toit. selection was based on performance - the others on zero of the kind.
Why don't you use your own user name Zeradunce? Are you as big a coward as Desert Disaster who constantly change his username whenever he has exceeded the limit of stupidity allowed on this site and has embarrassed himself thoroughly?
I have seen you call a few people "Dofdoos" and coincidently they are always people who have either a different point of view or disagree with you or who point out that you are inconsequently in the arguments that you put forward.
By starting your post with "Dofdoos" you could have addressed anyone of myself, Lestat/Desert Fox, Mozart or Ceradyne.
In any case. I have only mentioned Goosen as an example of players who have injured themselves in "off-field" situations. I could have used anybody but he was the first who came to mind. If I really think hard, at the time, I could probably have come up with a different name and if I really wanted to go way back in time, I could have mentioned Pieter Nel who injured his ankle while running out through the tunnel at Loftus at the start of a CC final against WP, many moons ago. I could even have looked at other disciplines, such as F1 driver, Juan Pablo Montoya, who injured his shoulder playing tennis.
I also mentioned PSDT to show you that you are not consequent in your judgement of players. The bottom line is that PSDT was not chosen on current form and was chosen purely on reputation. Do you agree or not?
Whenever something is written Ceradunce would bring in Goosen immediately and his style of writing are the same as yours - hence my deduction. Since Goosen is not in Meyer's squad - why raise his name in any event.
Frankly I do not agree with you - purely on the basis that even though Du Toit was out for three months - he was excellent in the matches in Super 15 from the start of the tournament until he got injured. The same cannot be said of Du Preez and Fourie - firstly they were playing "soft" rugby in Japan - that is normally a serious comedown from Super 15 and secondly when Du Preez played for the Springboks in June last year he was barely average in performance before his injury. He was clearly not match fit at all after a four month lay-off. The other problem is that unlike other duds from Japanese Clubs (eg Fransie Steyn and JP Pietersen) Fourie and Du Preez refused to play Super 15 rugby so as to get their performances up to standard.
I have told to you why Goosen came to mind. Take it or leave it.
PSDT being excellent is a matter of opinion. You are gold-plating him based on a few OK performances. He has done nothing............. yet, to prove that he is half the player that you would like him to be. If anything, he is proven to be less reliable than what Andries Bekker was. He has not completed a single senior rugby season without being side-lined for at least one competition/series. In fact, he was sidelined for more than one competition/series since the beginning of 2014. In 2014 he only played a few S15 games and this year he has only played four full S15 games. That is it. He is in that squad on reputation and hype. Nothing more.
So we are back top idiocy again -
* De Allende is no 12 - but passive Francois Steyn is* Du Toit is passive - but in the games played this year still did three times the work Matfield does - so what is Matfield?* Du Toit is slow - he is by far the fastest Tight 5 player in SA - what a joke.
When anyone read your assessment of player abilities and the criteria descriptions you gave to players the question arises, what the hell do you know about rugby. What is clear - you form an idea about some players and ascribe qualities they have while in fact the players are defective in every way you laud them in. Any other players posing a threat to their potential selection is assigned negatives based on nothing but your prejudice against them. So the player making most tackle breaks (73) in Super 15 and selected in 9 weeks out of 16 as the best no 12, is according to you no 12 - but the center who managed 8 tackle breaks in Super 15 is an ideal no 12. That shows how rubbish flows from you like it is unbelievable.
The problem for you is that I detailed exactly how Damian played. He does not make those tackle breaks in congested areas. I already detailed the Stormers set plays and patterns and how they utilized him. In all the eight games I look at, he made very little ground carrying the ball head-on. Against the Cheetahs he was dumped by a back smaller than himself! Against Frans he struggled head-on, and that was eve though he encountered Frans out along the touchline. He was never used as an 12 by the Stormers. And the key missing ingredient for them was a hard runner to straighten the attack. It has been commented on by many coaches throughout the season: the Stormers are playing too laterally. But the question is why? The first place to look is always at 12, and he is not providing the directness. That's a fact. If you would like to go over those games again, then so be it! You lost those debates before and you will lose them again. And it gets even worse on defence. He waltzes out of alignment ball watching. I could scarecely believe what I was seeing! He literally just jogs out of alignment. He gets run over head on too. He is just another 13 like de Jongh, and like de Jongh he is being heavily touted as a 12. It will end the same way. And nothing you have ever said has been proven.
But you don't know enough about rugby to understand the things I have said for a start. You couldn't even understand what a cut pass was. you also said that crashballing is detrimental to attacking play and in your very next sentence said we need to find ways to get passed the defence before we go wide. In another thread you said a missed pass slows down the attacks attempts to get the ball out wide quickly. These are monumental gaffs! If you were clever, you would at the very least have been embarrassed that you said those things. And trying to explain to you the role of the deep runner in a box formation - explaining the setups used by the Stormers in an attacking play - you completely fudged that up completely too. Quite honestly I couldn't understand what you were trying to say, something about ball control and why Morné can't control his balls...
But hey, what do I know. You are clearly the expert in all things, being Clever and all that. I mean, it's even in your username.
They say that you should never argue with a moron ... cause he'll drag you down to his level and then beat you with his experience.
To be quite honest, I cannot recall ever reading more horseshyte than what Buggerer posts.
Signs of being inbred are clearly evident.
