Another mistake by the stormers as the pass goes out on the full. Bit scrappy so far from the stormers.
Beeno1 of course is no where to be seen, he must have a "conference" or a power failure.

Coetzee and his Midgets are all BS.
* Leyds buggered when the Highlanders kicked in - first try.* De Jongh passed a ball straight to an opposition player for intercept - second try* Kolbe gets run over - third trry.
This is ridiculous - the Stormers team are BS with those three being in the backline.

Congrats to the Highlanders they are a solid team.
Wee players have to be fast with super slick skills to off-set the diminutive statue otherwise they are road kill.

Demetri Catrakilis didn't kick well with ball in hand, he isn't composed and looked way out of his depth. Coleman made a difference when coming on off the bench, he needs to start ahead of Catrakilis more often, Coleman is overall a better flyhalf. It's been proven time and time again though the coach Coetzee never seems to get it in his head.

There are serious problems in the Stormers backline - the worst of those being at flyhalf, outside center, Leyds on the wing and lastly Kolbe.
You cannot have three small players in the backline outside of the flyhalf - one may be OK - three are just two to many. I can live with Kolbe - but the other two are plainly not good enough.
Lets have a look at De Jongh's stats for instance:-
de Jongh2/0100/2/125401563/20/010/0 The Jongh is a good enough finisher if somebody else put him into space. The trwo tries he scored could have been scored by any decent no 13. The problem is with the column about ball possession losses - 6 ball possession losses is unheard of. Two of those let to opposition tries. Then his defensive record - tried 5 tackles, made 3 and missed 2.
De Jongh routinely has a missed tackle ratio of between 25 and 30 and the 40 today is bad news - worse than his already deplorable stats for previous games indicate.
Leyds0/002/3/94003011/10/000/0
Absolutely useless - he donated the first try to the Highlanders. His defense is basically non-existent.
AS I SAID - I CAN LIVE WITH KOLBE - THE OTHER TWO ARE FAR TO WEAK TO PLAY SUPER 15 RUGBY.

@mike,
IMO the problem is not Coetzee and his midgets (Leyds, de Jongh,
Kolbe), the problem is that there are no better backline players to play
instead.
And it's not only something that have to do with the Stormers, SA rugby and the boks have a huge problem here. In the last 5-6 years the only backline quality players produced in SA are Lambie, Pollard, de Allende and Serfontein. The rest are average at best, the majority not even up to standard for Super Rugby.
This
is very poor for a rugby-power like SA who aspire to everything. With
this lack of quality backline players it will be almost imposible to get
the nº1 spot and even mantain the current 2º
28 Mar 2015, 13:55#29
Watch Kriel today, he's got something about him and Hougaard on the wing has become a new man. But apart from the names you mentioned and the two I just did there are very few players with ball sense in the SA Super rugby squads, there are few juniors coming through that will most likely improve the situation but they lack the experience.
28 Mar 2015, 13:57#30
There was also moments in the match when the whole left side of the pitch was defended by De Jong, Leyds and Kolbe. That's a huge weakness, I'd much prefer Howard, Kotze and Kolbe as he would be the only one I'd keep because he has huge heart and offensive capabilities that are going to show as he plays more games and get's comfortable at this level.

The HLers were playing very shallow on defence. The stormers backline should have moved a bit deeper, but preferred not to and then played from a standing position most of the time. Hope they can get things together for the Canes, but it doesn't look good.

Tapedd the game to watch but only got first half. The halfwit Coetzze simply has no clue. Those imagining Kolbe as a fullback NEED TO THINK AGAIN.Other useless players are Leyds and Kolisi. if De Jongh cant make it as a wing has he got a future.
When will the oak wake up!!!
