Here's clips of Armand van der Merwe the replacement Lions hooker storming through the Crusaders earlier this season. You can see the threat he poses when he's on the ball, I've liked what he has done in past matches as well. Malcolm Marx is also a talented hooker however he's still very young and need to learn alot still.

Robbie Coetzee is no slouch either although he's not as versatile given the fact that we haven't seen him do much. Robbie is not bok material, he's never had any performance where I can make a safe assumption that he has what it takes to make a step up in the bok jersey, Meyer thinks differently and he'll back him to be a 2nd or 3rd choice hooker as well as Bismark du Plessis who we all know has discipline problems. They are not the real deal. 

Question - How do you rate Armand van der Merwe? I think he's a fantastic underrated hooker who should be involved in the bok training squad. Armand and Strauss are our best hookers, picking the right players is important for the RC and RWC, we shouldn't let talent slip through our hands like in the past.
