Meyer does it all the time.....look no further than the snubbing of Paul Willemse.....but another prime candidate is Theron, the Baby Bok coach.

In Marius Louw, we have an inside centre setting the world alight for the Sharks Vodacom Cup side and he has not even had a call up to an extended Baby Bok training squad.

Surely as a national coach, the minimum expectation is that you research extensively the available talent and make sure you don't leave a single stone unturned.

These coaches just don't deserve their jobs....they cant even get the basics right

None of the foreign club players have been invited to the training camps - but of one thing you can be sure - some of the worst players from the foreign clubs will be in the squad by the time the RC comes around, while players like Willemse will be ignored.
After all slapgat Ouma Victoria is a certainty for selection.

BULLS and Springboks veteran Victor Matfield stood tallest at Loftus in their win against the Sharks.

The pretender to Matfield is Sharks No5 lock Pieter-Steph du Toit. And on Saturday Matfield was against the master and Du Toit had to be content with the role of apprentice.

It isn’t the first time in Matfield’s distinguished career that he has been written off. It also won’t be the last time questions will be asked, within the media and by the public, about his potential World Cup contribution this year.

Matfield was the player of the match in the Springboks’ 2007 World Cup win against England. He has been the best No5 lock in the professional era and he is rated by peers as the most complete No 5 lock. Matfield’s understanding of lineout play and his contribution to restarts are unrivalled among locks in SA and, in his prime, in Tests.

He has done it all with the Bulls and the Boks. He has won Super Rugby and Currie Cup titles with the Bulls and won the World Cup, the Tri-nations and a British and Irish Lions series with the Boks. He is the most capped Springbok and regarded internationally as one of the finest to have played the game.

You came with that BS before.  In that game Ouma Victoria Matfield - the slapgat - called exactly 1 line out to come to him - he had no ball carries of note and did a few weak tackles - so what the hell did the idiot journalist base his - "stood tall" on?
This guy is the worst selection Meyer ever made and he is just pushed aside by real rugby players nowadays.   He is weakening the Bulls Tight 5 beyond recognition and did the same for the Springboks in tests last year.  The 105 kgs bean pole is physically not strong enough to compete with the loosies nowadays - leave alone with real locks.  Hwe has thin shoulders and thin wrists.
Even the scrummies pushed him out of the way nowadays as was the case in the game against WP in the CC last year.

OOm are you still lusting after Stephanie? The poor chap can't play 4 games without hurting himself. Hell even if he is fit for the WC and selected (fat chance) the fragile youngster wont make it through the pool games.

Light as a feather and look at those stick legs and arms.

I am not lusting after anyone - I am not an idiot like you who are lusting after Ouma Victoria.   At least when Du Toit plays he is effective - when the physically-deficient Matfield plays he is a joke in bad taste.

And Ouma Victoria's bicep still looks like Joe Atlas - because weight training had no effect on him - he still has thin shoulders and thin wrists.

Difference of course being when you are the Man of The match in a WC final, it doesn't matter how big your biceps are.

That was 8 years ago - not at present.   At 30 Matfield was at his prime and most lock opponents at that stage weighed circa 110 kgs.   Matfield too - but he lost 5 kgs since and the average weight of locks went up to 118 kgs.
Do you always live in the past and disregard the present?
