How poor is the Stormers team?

 They may be poor CleverMike but they were the best SA team this year - what does that say about the state of play of SA rugby?

 Well said Mike. That Van Wyk, called up by Meyer for Bok squad training, was omitted for the powder puff Leyds was a disgrace and a direct consequence of race based selections so approved of by the kbbs for South African rugby .
Huw Jones before De Jongh as at least he will tackle. Then again we also had Carr, Kolisi and bongi messing up the pack.The result a racist transformation disaster. We can only hope the enxt coach picks on merit a system favoured by the kbbs for nz but not for us here in SA. Their hypocrisy is mind boggling.

 The Stormers has the makings of a very good team. Their lack of depth and the liabilitiliability of their small backline was exposed by the brumbies. They did however beat all the Ozzie teams in the league stages, incincluding the Waratahs in Ozz. Don't wtite them off yet.

 If we get in a decent coach who picks on merit and gain Du Toit and Marcell Coetzee we should have a good shot next year Draad. I fear though there is a big race agenda on at WP. Time will tell

Without Kolbe, Leyds and de Jongh the Stormers would be derailed. These three have worked tirelessly for the Stormers and that includes defence. But all three have been used in very unconventional ways to compensate for Damian's inability to bring some incision at 12. Even Kolisi has been used in some exotic setups. You cannot criticise these players and praise Damian, they are all deeply linked. But as per defence? de Jongh is the better head on defender of the centres, his positional play is excellent. It's all the more impressive given that Damian likes to break alignment. Flat attacking backlines play flat so they can hold 10 and 12 and isolate 13. It makes de Jongh's job all the more diffiucult, yet he succeeds! Leyds has been for the most part very good. But I particularly like how de Jongh operates at the breakdown. It's been a big part of the Stormers highly efficient system of cleaning and winning possession. The Stormer's greatest vulnerabilities on defence are it's 10-12 axis. That's where opponents are looking to get the job done. Take Leyds and de Jongh out of the picture and Damian flounders. 

 Beenz, the race agenda is part and parcel of Sout African society and most of the time good black players are fed to tha sharks before they are ready, damaging their careers, but despite all that, I believe the Stormers can get the balance right and succeed in a few years. Noone gave them a chance this year. In my opinion they were the 4th best team this year. My rankings are:

It is no use to discuss rugby with an ignoramus who knows nothing of the game.   Lets face facts - your conception of what De Allende contributes to the Stormers backline is so warped that it makes the rest of your statements totally absurd.   How anyone can come up with so much BS in one posting is really amazing.
First of all who made the most line-breaks in the center position and where did the line breaks occur?   It was De Allende who played the fool with players like SB Williams and Francois Steyn - his direct opponents.  De Allende was the player that In Super 15 beat most tackles - so you make out he cannot play at 12.   
The story about how De Jongh contributes is equal BS.   He is weak in attack and equally weak in defense.   The list of poor defenders in center position is -

The Hurricanes-Stormers game indicates that the further De Jongh is away from the team the better the team performs in both defense and attack.    
Once you stop talking nonsense about rugby - then people would start taking notice of what you go on about.  But that has been consistent throughout the various user names he used and it is beginning to be boring to read the drivel you come up time and again.    The day you stop lauding the non-productive Fransie and give De Allende due credit for what he ahcieves in games - that day it would be worth reading what you write.    

Draad I couldnt care a hoot how its part of our scene here. Race based selection must be declared as racist. We will get nowhere with this at play. We MUST consistently speak out against this.
Saffa sides also lost a number of games due to bent down under refs. This too has to be sorted and only SARU can deal with this but fans must raise their voices also.
Then we MUST get in some decent coaches, particularly backline coaches.
The we must get creative and find ways to keep players at home.
Then we must scrap having six teams in Super rugby as we will never be able to keep all our players at home.
Then we need to reduce the number of provinces we have. So much is structurally wrong.
All this needs top class leadership at the top but I cant see any.  Our rugby is in total disarray due to race based policies, rank stupidity, the weak rand and the lack of will to reform.
We are getting in some new coaches maybe they can get things going better but all these things need addressing.

The way the Stormers got humiliated by the Brumbies followed by the thrashing of the Brumbies by the Tahs, just highlights the sad state of rugby in South Africa.  

 You lost one game with two of your best players out, let's not get carried away.

 JW, agreed. There is still lots wrong, but the team performed better than was anticipated at the start of the season. The blitzkrieg in the first 20 sank the ship. They played a lot better in the 2nd half, but chasing down such a big score is not easy and tends to flop big time.As for the Brumbies? Not that bad a team. They played very well against the Stormers, but the travelling got to them. They toured SA, got back to play the saders, went back to SA to play the Stormers, just to go back and face the top team in the competition on home turf. It was never gonna happen.

 Beenz, I'm not saying we sbould condone race based teams, but it is not gonna change any time soon and there is nothing that we can do to change that. It is the reality. We can either play the cards we're dealt, or we can fold and watch from the side while the others play.

 I would love to have some politician to have said 30 years ago to black South Africans, "look guys, apartheid isn't going away any time soon, so you need to play the cards you are dealt and make the best of it". I'm sure that would have been very well received! LMAO!!! No, that isn't good enough. 
@Beeno: The problem is that black people who pull the race card think they are the only ethnic group to have been persecuted. If everyone else was of the same mind the world would descend into Chaos, just look at how the Brits were invaded every so often. And I have never heard of black people mention the persecution suffered by Muslims, some of which involved being burnt alive in boiling oil! Nope, it's been white people exclusively, sdo that means they have a justification to inflict violence. Look at the seminars online teaching violence on white children. But you see if Youtube doesn't ban you for saying the same verbatim about black children. It will probably be repreated endlessly in the media for weeks. But little do they realisethat they are being used, that the black leaders they follow are using them to champion Socialism, which doesn't mean empowering black people, but bringing the white middle class down to create a totalitarian state. Redistribution of wealth never works oyt as advertised unfortunately. That's the part where I lol myself to sleep. Silly little sheeple.
