3 Jannie du Plessis (South Africa): One of only two players to keep their place in our weekly selection, Du Plessis highlighted his value for the Boks, despite only lasting one half. He's one of those players South Africans love to moan about, but his scrummaging over the last fortnight has secured his ticket to the World Cup.

The Kiwi rating for Jannie against NZ was a 5 which is spot as he only lasted a half.

Jannie has been solid......which is fine if solid does it for you.....there are better younger tightheads in SA at the moment as there are players in every position

I liked this part:The 32-year-old, along with his fellow Sharks front rowers - brother Bismarck and Beast Mtawarira - have had the upper hand against both the Wallabies and All Blacks at scrum-time this year.
Our locks had the upper hand and when Vermuelen and Coetzee are back the Bok pack will really demolish the wee abs!Hansen is a worried man.

The sudden success of our props must say something about the support they get from our locks Eben and Lood.

They had troubles last year with Eben and Lood as well last year! The Matfield haters were very quiet on that.

 Disaster
What problems are you talking about?  There were bigger problems with Matfield buggering up two line-outs in the tests against the AB's last year and then going to pieces in the EOYT.   Matfield was BS before he went off the field against the Aussies - De Jager was ten times better than he was.  And our scrum improved without Matfield in the Aussie test.  That is certain proof that Matfield turns our Tight 5 into a Tight 4.
Anybody not seeing that is suffering from a serious degree of lack of rugby knowledge or is preferring not to see what is really going on with Matfield.

It's true. The first Argentina test had Bakkies with Lood, the next had Eben and Lood! We were clouted at scrum time in both games. Fact.

True Fox,  but putting the blame on the locks alone is stretching reality a bit.

I'm not blaming the locks. I just noted how we struggled with and without Victor. I also noted in the past that our flanks were not contributing at scrum time.

In both cases the problem was with Jannie  and in the first test the sh!tpoor Steenkamp and in the second test it was Jannie and Beast.
If you Matfield at 105 kgs contribute to scrums, you must have your head read - you are seriously delusional.
I second DbDraard's comment :  Fox BS

Rommel, you said that Lood and Eben struggled in 2014. That may or maybe not true, but I can tell you (and it is hopefully for everyone to see) that there is a big difference between a 2014 Lomp and a 2015 Lood.

Blik,  the lad did exceptionally well,  coming off the bench,  too early,  replacing the god of locks in SA.  He did not deserve to be anywhere near the team,  but he grabbed the opportunity regardless.  There were some other locks more deserving of a spot on the bench,  but it looks like an off form player was given the nod,  to make an old hasbeen look good when replaced in the last 20?  Stupid conspiracy BS from me?  Of coarse,  but why else play a rook of a couple of failed tests from the bench when we have in-form players to make up the numbers?  Lood did not deserve to be there.  Why was he on the bench in the first place?  Good on him for making the most of it.

Wrong Blik, Lood was just as good last year....he was very good in a poor Cheetahs side in last years S15 side......making the TOW on a regular basis.
Lood has always been good.
Its testament to how poor Meyer is given his call for the return of Bakkies and Matfield.....when we have the likes of Etzebeth, Lood, PSDT, Willemse, Jacques du Plessis, Ruan Botha and Lewies.

Last year the Bargies owned Lomp, hard men who brooked no nonsense. This year Lomp has faced Simmons and Broadhurst....whooo scary. Not! The only worthy opponent he faced was Whitelock....for 19 minutes.

I fully agree he was good on Saturday, but let's see him confirm that form against better locks.

Only two players in your list have shown anything at test level: Eben and Lood. So no. But Victor still offers a lot. His work rate is still much higher, his leadership still excellent, his lineout prowess still such that the opposition shuffle through their options helplessly. To say Victor does nothing is a lie that has been debunked.

Oh what utter rubbish.....the Argies did not come close to owning him.....utter garbage......that is about as accurate as your take of Matfield schooling PSDT this year.....another joke

Fox stop speaking utter fucking rubbish.....Matfield is an old man playing a young man's game.....he is utterly useless these days.....the biggest liability in the Bok side since his return......a physical liability......a joke at test level.

Fckkk Fox,  at the start of the season you had Eben as lazy and Lood as useless.  Make up your mind.

Not once did I say Eben was lazy, and my concerns were in 2012 and 2013. What I have said all through this year is Eben looks hungry. Lood has been nowhere this Super rugby season, so what's your point there. You are straining for coherency.

Really? Want me to post your foul up where Barnacle schooled you again? Lol! Where are all your big picks? Nowhere. And it appears I was once more correct with Damian. The videos there if you think you can put your money where your incessant blab hole is. I back up what I say foo!
