'Influential Steyn back with a bang'

 Hell and damnation - it happened at last.  Mozart has learned to read books for 10 years olds at last and he now quote endlessly from them to hide his 5 year old level of Rugby knowledge from us.  
One should obviously sympathize with him  - it took him a hell of a long time to finally mas ter the books for 10-year olds.

 F/off Mozart your posts have zero integrity...even IKE and Churchill said that Hitler would have won without the Russians...battles of Leningrad and Stalingrad...read your history with intelligence and without BIASE ...and YOUR Rugby Brain...if there's a little of that left! 

 Actually I agree with Churchill. The two key battles in WW2 were Midway, which could have driven the USA out of the Pacific if it was lost.....and Kursk which settled the land battle in Europe. The Russian tank was built in much superior numbers to the Tiger tank and that settled the war. But Integrity is not a word I associate with your adopted country.

Not my adopted country, unfortunately...love it to be but as a westerner far too stupid and too lazy to keep up with these unknown and exceptionally talented people.

I wish capitalism could help Russia in RUGBY...such potential even All Black Sean Fitzpatrick observed when promoting in St Petersburg...the huge problem being the climate...iced fields and lack of funds...hope Russia finds an extremely wealthy oligarch to finance RUGBY in their country...they certainly have the depth and physically strong men but too little interest.

Russia has a huge cultural and scientific heritage. The blind mathematician Mangasarian who  developed rocket science, for example, was Russian. I admire Russian literature, culture, science .....I don't admire doping. So what evidence do you have that my posts have "zero integrity"

I do think Mozart has integrity couples to a totally deceptive and prejudiced brand of interpretation of player performances.  He really believes in the tripe he writes on this Board.  
So  I do not question his integrity, but certainly his credibility and his understanding of the game of rugby.

What a thread!!! Poetry, drugs (Resulting in poetry), Frans Steyn, WW2, children's stories! You lot seem to be smoking something wicked. Can I have some? 
Just on WW2, Hitler's biggest mistake was not taking Leningrad when he could have. The Germans had all but destroyed Leningrad, they just needed to occupy the city, but they didn't know how close the city was to collapse, and its collapse would most likely have meant defeat for Russia and German access to massive oil reserves and other vital resources. Hitler instead decided to divert his troops elsewhere and wait for Winter to pass before attempting to occupy Leningrad. That Winter wiped out half the German army and allowed the Russians enough time to amass a massive military force. That Russian force would not only defend Leningrad but ultimately defeat the Germans. Had the germans continue their attack on Leningrad for just a few more days, a lot of us here would probably be speaking German today.   

History has taught us many times that to attack Russia through invasion  one of the most stupid things ever to do.   King Charles VII of Sweden tried and was defeated at Poltava - Napoleon tried it and was effectively defeated at Borodino - even though the  Russians retired after the battle.
From Borodino the whole campaign of Napoleon and like Charles VII he lost his army.
The same thing happened to the German Army in WWII so only fools do not realize that history lessons are not learnt.   The same mistakes will have the same results - often even worse than they were previously.
 

CleverMike, from a Nazi point of view, attacking Russia was a brilliant idea, and it would've worked, but for one little tactical error. In other words, Russia got very lucky! They could easily have been defeated. 

 I also have been a Frans fan BUT he was not playing good rugby and was obviously overweight perhaps due to an injury niggle preventing him form training properly. It would be great if he returned to top form.

Fat Fransie is already 29 years old and there is no way he could recover and get back to play decent rugby.
When he returned from France in 2012 he was and still is seriously overweight.   As a result he developed a knee problem where the cure is that he has to lose weight drastically and get  back to a decent weight of 105 kgs or so - but that did not work out.   You are in fact right about the niggle.
Fact is he cannot move sideways to cover attackers and they run past him as a result without even trying to make tackles.  
I frankly cannot see him being selected for the Springbok team again and Mozart is totally off target in trying to promote him on this site.    

 Thorns, another way of looking at it is that the Germans launched too late. Barbarossa commenced in late June, if they launched at the beginning of April they would have got through Moscow before the winter mud bogged them down.

I thought Steyn went thru some personal issues, then injured his knee & then got fat? When he came back to the Boks he looked good with a lot of potential. Probably to late for him now but at the moment Boks haven't solved their 20 problem.
