Contrary to popular belief, there's a few ways to approach rugby, and ultimately it's about finding the best balance.
This world cup maybe we aired on the side of caution too much but we lost to the eventual winners by a mere 2 points.
Next WC, we need to find a balance between our power game and a more running game. I think our forwards can mix it with the best of them, but or game plan stifles our backs, if this is fixed we're on to a winner.
2013 was the best exponent of this, watch our games against the Aussies, we were powerful up top and dangerous in the backs, we've gone backwards since.
But the Boks did us proud in the game last week.

you cannot measure the success of bok rugby by one game in a semi where in everyones view the all blacks had a off day at the office.
the all blacks never looked like losing the semi.
the best mix for me in terms of pattern was the 2007 rwc pattern but its gone nowhere since then.
meyer should have seen our attacking play as a problem why has he not done anything in his tenture to remedy this ????

 We've been better than the convicts in the last few years and although we only beat them once IMO we were the team that tested the AB's the best.

 I'm not Meyer's  biggest fan CM, I was purely talking about his reign btw when I said 2013 was the best exponent.
I think Meyer lost his way a bit after a promising start, I don't think his tenure has been a disaster though. 
I disagree regarding the semis, we played well and stuck to a game plan and if a few things went our way, we could have been lifting the Webb ellis today.
The kiwis deserved it though, make no mistake about it.
There is a real heap of young talent brewing in the SA and with the right guidance then we'll be in a great position.
Is it too soon for Ackers? Possible, maybe even a kiwi coach perhaps?

 well draad we should be better than the aussies we have 10 times the number of players they have...we should be better on any given sunday. yet we are lagging behind the top 2 teams...why do you ask ?
we have the talent yes but all that talent will be wasted if not channeled correctly and playing in a game pattern that allows them to use there talent and develop there weak areas.
has meyer done this ? simply not and i cannot bare to watch another 5 odd years of maybes and happless mindless tactics but makes us competitive but not great.
i do think ackermann has the goods but needs that backing from a seasoned vet like mitchell or eddie jones. we need a nz to fix that backline as well and in 3 years time we will be at that level where we will be on par with nz in my books.
i wont mind a nz coach at the boks but i dont think saru will be that bold. plumtree would also add a lot of value as he has massive internaional exposure.
