We get a real 12 back in Serfontein replacing Jean. He should have been there from the start.
Jean gone now we just need to get rid of Matfield

Lood is playing well but most experts agree that Matfield had a great game.
Take it an ignorant Twat like you Shark has missed his CC games.
Matfield was good in the line outs, kick offs and making the odd open field tackle. But it was Lood who imposed himself physically and exactly what we need from a test lock if we want to progress in this WC.
What we don't need is a lightweight pansy running around like a back.
Lood is 10 times the player
Victoria will now become captain and your concerns could/will double.
Sad to see any player end his career with injury and even worse when he is a great sportsman and gentleman.
Really unfortunate injury career for Jean in WC rugby dating back to 2003.
Give credit were credit is due I say.
Sadly he stuck around for a good 2 years too many.
He has been poor for the past 2 years and tarnished his status in the process....much like useless Matfield is doing.
Now we can play de Allende and Kriel....two centres with real real clout.
Jean has been a passenger for the past 2 years.
We now need to just get rid of useless Matfield first and foremost followed by a handful of others.
And to revel in Jeans injury when he did such a spectacular job is nothing short of disgusting.
I think that Jean always was completely dedicated to rugby and an absolute gentleman as a captain with world-wide respect among rugby authorities and fans. I sincerely regret that his career ended by another injury,
Despite some questions about his recent performances there is one thing which is evident and what is absolutely clear he has the support and loyalty of the squad players.
This brings us back to the captaincy issue. Matfield as a close friend of Meyer - but there is mounting evidence that he has not the support of parts of the players who does not regard him as a leader. The relationship with some of the players is a problem. The latest blow-up involved and Bismarck and gact is he is not respected by the younger players in the Bulls squad - a couple of which are in the squad, ie Pollard and now Serfontein.
On the other hand it is a fact that De Jager is a better performer and the appointment of Matfield as captain would weaken our lock combination in the tight matches later in the tournament.
If Meyer was sure about the appointment of Matfield - he would have announced the change in captaincy immediately - so I think that he is unsure about the situation. He in fact indicated that the captaincy for the game against Scotland will be made on Wednesday with the team announcement. That leads me to believe that matfield may not play in that game and that the appointed captain may take over the captaincy for that match may be the permanent captain after the match if woin by the Springboks.
I think Meyer's first choice might be Fourie du Preez - with Burger as an outsider candidate.
Lood has been 10 times the player Matfield has been all year. Has the same skill set as Matfield but with it comes the physicality one requires of a lock at test level.
When Lood tackles he drives players back, when he carries the ball he takes defenders with him. Things wee Matfield could only dream of doing.
I think Meyer would have appointed Matfield as captain immediately but he could be hesitant because of the slumbering hamstring on Matfield. So, he might reserve Matfield for the bigger matches only and appoint someone else as interim captain - Strauss or Schalk?
Yes, I suspect there might be some division in the team, but this I'd guess is limited to Matfield and Bismarck. I'm sure Victor had in the past some angry words towards Bismarck because of his poor throwins into the lineout and possibly Bismarcks discipline in the games.
That was also mentioned by Meyer on the BBC website.
CM....I think you have hit the nail on the head regarding Fourie du Preez and my reasoning is that prior to selecting Jean as the Springbok captain a few seasons back Fourie was inundated with requests to captain the side by Meyer.
Fourie was actually injured and had just signed for a Japanese club are also factors that persuaded him to decline the offer.
That is only speculation as far as I know but remember Victor Matfield is not the most popular guy wearing the green and gold from a players point of view.
Burger and Fourie du Preez would be my bet.
Now the question is who will captain the Springboks next season.
Any idea.
Strauss is my guess.
One down ... many to go.
Next up ... Victor.
Jean was a solid test center, nothing more. He served South Africa well.
Time to move on and let Damian become the legend he's meant to be.
The subbing of wee victor in the last match might indicate that Meyer is realising how he can trust Lood. Every time Lood comes on he out perfroms victor utterly. Only the most perverse boneheaed halfwitted hatter can deny this.
I appeal to all hatters to go to the optician, take their meds and do all they can to retain their sanity - if they ever had sanity in the first place.
Lets face it these perverse hatters have been the source of many an hilarious moment.
No you dumb old fuck, we beat Samoa......I know age is an issue with you......but here is a little reminder......we beat SAMOA, get it.......SAMOA
We will lose in the quarters unless by some miracle Matfield gets injured and joins Jean in retirement along with Jannie and Louw.....not to mention our schizophrenic coach
Wake up old man
An old Omelette man after producing this classic bit of verbal nonsense..
"and hope can be restored to the Bok hope"
...is confused again. "Hope can be restored to his hope".....but we will lose in the Quarters according to this fat blowhard. Talk about one confused barking puppy.
The issue here is not personal insults in which you specialize - but the appointment as a captain to succeed De Villiers, Matfield is obviously a divisive factor in the team - but who should it be?
You have no right to tell me what I can and cannot comment on - or are you the board dictator by any chance?
It is because you are rugby ignorant that you you should not comment - I may add.
Mike ... don't apologize to this wanker ... he owes this board many apologies ... but will never be man enough to admit he's wrong!!
You owe him nothing!!
You guys completely missed what happened in the Japanese game...blamed it on Jean and Victor being too old. Turned out it was just a tactical blunder and lack of motivation. It shouldn't have happened....but had zero to do with your one track issue.
I tried to help you get the context, but you just droned on....so now wear your egg with a bit of humility, would you.
Moffie you insult any supporter with any excuse offered against Japan......the game should never have been in the balance at any stage......something you miss completely, surprise, surprise
Tactical blunder and lack of motivation.............what a load of horse shit
