conrad completed 9 out of his 12 tackles, so i dont know what sun who is on about,

Mozart is really going overboard with regard to De Jongh. He started this thread and carry on about it and then another one on tackles missed by De Kpngh years ago and qupted an endless string of smallish centers - all to prove why De Jongh is the answer at 13.
He obviously is entitled to his opinion as we are entitled to differ from him. However, I think both Mozart and Sun Tzu is on the wrong horse here and my reasons for those are the following-
* De Jongh was extremely poor in the last two tests he played in in 2012 and although Meyer kept him in the squad - he never made the 23 man squad for any tests subsequently.
* I think the final sign that he is not a consideration anymore is the fact that De Jongh's contract with SARU has not been renewed after expiration - he possibly was kept around in the Springbok squad last year because of that contract.
Be it as it may I do not think that De Jongh has a one-in-a-million chance to get into the Springbok team - he is just not good enough to qualify. .

de Jongh misses tackles just like any player, but the real issue with de Jongh is that he is not physical enough for centre.......he is a liability in traffic both with ball in hand and in defence........light guys get blown away, you cant afford to be blown away at centre.
I think he is a handy enough player and should move to wing as should Paul Jordaan as both are not big enough for centre

Jordaan
Tackles made - 58
Tackles missed - 4
Missed tackle ratio - 6,4%
I have long ago given up on Jordaan as an option and merely said that he will have to improve `100% to be even a consideration. You keep on punting the piss poor De Jongh as if he is Gods Gift to mankind. Get a life and stop being thinking we cannot see where you are foolish.
Even a poor performing Jordaan - a ball sense player - i s better than the useless de Jongh.

It's funny then that the Stormers had the best defence for many years in the entire competition. de Jongh was one of the key defenders in this system, so that throws the entire argument against him onto the rocks. If de Jongh is so vulnerable, then why the defensive success overall for the team? Especially given that "you cannot afford to be blown away at centre". It's one messy contradiction after another!
