When Du Preez came through as the scrummie for the Bulls in circa 2000 under Meyer as coach  his main attributes were -
*   his personal attacking play; and*   the tendency on his part to pass balls to forwards.
Through the years the latter tendency became less obvious and his strategic game improved.  In this tournament the former tendency was not much in evidence - but the latter returned with a vengeance.
The question remains - who decided on the relevant strategy being introduced in the present series - was it Meyer or Du Preez or both of them?   What was clear from the word go was that the strategy was flawed and not working - so why was this strategy in fact persisted with?

Ou maaaikie its the coach who is in charge. There is no more exhaus ting strategy than to kick away your possession and defend most of the game. Mindless really.
