So after a busy weekend of sports, I watched the Ireland game, keen to see this mighty CJ Stander performance.
The first thing that was obvious was he had the whining Irish commentators in his camp. Everything Ireland and CJ did was fantastic....except Wales hadn't read the script and at the end were the stronger team.
How about Stander...he ran the ball 23 times, so said the Irish shill and so he gets the MOM. He failed to mention in all those 23 runs he beat one tackler....and made his clean break when there was literally no Welshman behind the scrum.
He also failed to mention Stander lost the ball four times....once he was saved by a Welsh offside. He was turned right at the half and the whistle saved him. And then twice within meters of the Welsh line, he lost the ball and two clear Irish try scoring chances.
Also he never had the strength to ground the ball  when he was given a clear chance to punch over the line. In fact I saw no evidence of strength at all....his tackles were rote affairs. Still the Irish shill was so anxious to praise him, they gave him credit for frightening the Welsh hooker into dropping the ball....I kid you not!
This guy is a bog ordinary runner, Faletau and Heaslip were far better. And at least in this game there was no evidence of creative passing. Just stampkar rugby of the most innocuous kind. Best you can say is he only gave away one penalty.

Nor did he succeed in winning a turnover or a penalty.....even though he was over the ball several times. He clearly is not going to help much on the ground.

So what does he have? It all seems a bit emotional. He isn't a power runner, he certainly doesn't have pace, he doesn't play the deck, he wasn't used in the lineouts.
Against a NZ or Bargie pack this kid would be nowhere. We heard so much about Baardjie Strauss when he got his Scottish cap, this all feels like more of the same. Coetzee is run of the mill, but has more potential than this kid. Stander is no loss.

Just one key question - did you actually watch the match?   If you did can I ask you a question?  Were you watching the game in another desperate search to find fault with Stander?   Old and less credible methodology of Mozart at play here.
Stop making a fool of yourself please.  You did the same when Lood De Jager got the  MOM and came up with a seriously deranged lot of rubbish.

Of course I watched the game.....on my 300 cm movie screen. That's how I spotted the various incidents I reported on. Did you watch the game? And if you did are you seriously telling me Stander was a dynamic runner? Try to be honest for once.

Stander was MOM and that is a fact,  Because he was a very high activity player - and not a loafer like you supported all out in the past - he did make two mistakes where possession losses occurred, but his ball carries was for the rest very effective and his defense sound.   How dare you ask such a question - when in the past you have supported the laziest loosie ever (Alberts) as a loosie - a player who on average made less than 1 meter per carry.
But lets get back to reality as to your definition of "dynamic runner" would be interesting - can you please indicate which loosie you regard as a dynamic runner?  Careful now - remember the Japanese game last year in dealing with that one.

Well there you go....why would you answer honestly. He made 1.5m a run, beat one defender in 23 runs and lost the ball 4 times. He made 36 metres. He was energetic, but not very effective....Burger made 59 m in 26 carries in the WC QF against Wales.
But let's all delude ourselves that some great talent has been lost.

To be fair ... with the masses of ball Burger got, a blind man with a plaster cast and a crutch would have managed the same quantity of carries and yardage.
Stander didn't need to be spoon fed like Schalk Burger was . Raw talent and hard work was all he needed to impress.
The only deluded one here Mozart is you.
Next time your trying to come up with something negative about an obvious talent, try watching it on a slightly smaller screen ... it may help limit pixelation.

Bwhhaaaaaa Moffie smarting once again......yes gents, so they got it wrong awarding CJ the MOM and this fucking idiot has it right......about as clued up waxing lyrical over useless Matfield and finding issue with the likes of de Allende, Kriel, Malherbe and Lood

Let me guess Moffie......Warburton, CJ's opposite number outplayed him did he?......bwhaahaaaaa........fuck me you are clueless

CJ had an outstanding debut.......by far the best loosie on the park

For the record the commentators weren't Irish you idiot

For the record he never lost the ball 4 times....he lost it twice you dunce.....once in the art of going to ground he had the ball ripped......the other when placing the ball on the ground and not having his team mates secure it.

Name the other two losses you idiot?

What about his one line out steal equalling a gain

38m made in traffic by a blind side you profoundly stupid man......that's more than a metre per carry in traffic.......do you actually know anything about rugby huh

So they got it wrong with his MOM award did they and you have it right.......how fucking stupid are you......do you know how stupid you look?

 Dave
You should know by now three things about Mozart.  Mozart clearly stated in the past that -
*  if he says something is right or wrong, it is right or wrong as the case may be and his comments are paramount and nobody has the right too dispute his interpretation;
*  that other peoples views are nonsens e and the fact that Stander was made MOM in this case is factually incorrect and rubbish; and
*   that he has some players he dislikes and they are never up to standard according to him - his dislike of players remove all facts and is paramount to always condemn the player concerned.
In essence his opinions on players are coloured by prejudice and is not reliant on performance,  That means that he is free to lie or misinterpret what happens on the field of play to enhance the image of his favourites and to denigrate the players he dislikes.  That approach shows that his interpretation of performance is based on  outright dishonesty.

Not sure what is worse......this clowns ignorance or arrogance

He is sooo predictable though......I knew he would be smarting after CJ was awarded MOM on debut

The wanker does not have the balls to acknowledge the lad had a good game for a debut.......instead we hear crap about him not being a runner......hellooooo, he played blindside and operated in traffic......had he played 8, we would have seen the same runs we have seen from him at Munster in open play.

Not strong enough to score the try......what an insult

Moffie is smarting once again as he did with Lood

Its embarrassing for the old fart

Why are you guys so surprised?

Moffie has been displaying his sporting ignorance literally for years now. Why is anyone still surprised when he says something incredibly stupid?

We don't need a daily newsflash that Moffie is a fool . . . most people know it already. Just have a laugh at the self-important and hopelessly biased old blowhard.

CJ was excellent against Wales, no taking that away from him. He'll probably go on to have a very good international career. We have a stock of very good flankers in South Africa, so I'm not worried about losing CJ, good luck to him.

Beenkop......fuck off you waste of space

APD you are wrong, we have a large stock of talented youngsters but CJ was one of the best and a good leader.

Aged 25 he is already captaining Munster.....he is mostly a 8......we need a 8 to replace Vermeulen who is closing in on being past his best......he is a big loss to SA rugby.

Rooi.....its just such a laugh watching dumb Moffie making a fool of himself.......Dave says he is great, he was Muster player of the year last year, has been on fire for Munster this year as their leader, walks straight into the Irish starting line-up as soon as he became eligible and wins MOM on debut.......but Moffie, the authority tells us he was ordinary.......oh boy......so clearly the rugby pundits don't have a clue and awarded MOM and player of the year to a bog ordinary player.......its hilarious, you could not script it better.

Imagine being that stupid to post the above........how embarrassing.......not sure what is worse the arrogance or ignorance?

I wonder how I should play the Eddie Jones role......should I be pro or anti him and watch Moffie's reaction......watch this space

This is Strauss all over. Try to grasp this CC...Burger  26 runs 59 metres, Stander 23 runs 38 metres. Stander 2 ball losses right on the Welsh line. Does that compute for you or do I have to do the division.
I have always spotted these hype situations .....JJ, Stepfontein, Coetzee, Stephanie. They all come crashing down. stick with moz for the real scoop.

But if you are still having doubts, ask yourself this, what has Strauss got that will make him a test success....other than the Coetzee like effort he showed on Sunday. He is not fast, he doesn't break tackles, he can't maintain position over the ball on the ground, he doesn't have slick hands, He is almost 26!
It's a pipe dream, fed by two Irish commentators who for reasons known only to them were primed to pump Stander from the outset. Funny stuff.

He lost the ball four times. The two times fat man mentions when he was stripped and the time he lost it going to the ground......and just before the half when he charged ahead again and was turned, but the whistle negated the turn over....and in the second half he lost it again, but it was officially negated because Wales were off side. Four ball losses.
And next time the opposition will have looked at the tapes....a slow, small chap charging ahead without guile will be a prime target.

Ag balls - this is really funny.  I thought Burger would come up in this discussion.  Four ball losses in the Japanese game (the first game in the WC - compared with Round 1 in the 6-Nations - remember that, dim one.   This is outrageous and I think you should refrain from totally stupid comments on this site.
You have never spotted anything and right what really happened in tests.  That is the problem - madness in prejudice against some players.  In the meantime we have the constant harping about the players who were in the WC squad and since then have disgraced themselves Playing for their clubs.
Lastly your ability to identify talented players have been so bad - it is w orthless to read the tripe you dish up virtually all the time.   .

Arrogance and Prejudice resulted in false presentations made by you,  One only have to look at the fact that you refuse to recognize the rubbish dished up by most players you kept on supporting to realize how useless your comments really are.   Once you get back to reality and deal with players on merit one can take note of what you say - till then what you write is plain and simple BS.   Us age of Rugby IQ is totally absent in your case.

Moffie here is a little rugby education for you. CJ was playing as a blindside flanker, so gaining 30+ metres in a match is pretty impressive given we are hardly talking about a wing or centre.....compare his stats to the Welsh blindside that match......trust that is beyond you?
Difference between CJ and Schalk is that Schalk was utterly useless taking the ball at 10 most of the time, depriving the backs of ball. His contribution that match was well documented given its lack of productivity.......CJ on the otherhand took the ball narrow in traffic, always getting over the advantage line, drawing defenders in and making the ball available......the job of a blindside old man.......for you seem utterly devoid of the basics of the game.
So Moffie are you saying that you alone are right about CJ and that everyone who witnessed his display are wrong
How the fuck can you be stupid enough to argue against the merits of a player awarded MOM in the very game you have issues with? Are you really this stupid?
Now go google the role of the blindside you old ignorant fool

Moffie what exactly did you get right about Goosen, Coetzee, JJ and Serfontein.......huh?
That your hero Meyer, the guy without a current job dropped JJ after a fantastic performance against the AB's
That Goosen left for greener pastures in France
That Coetzee was our best Bok loosie then got injured and missed the WC
That Serf was our best Bok centre despite playing out of position at 13 and then made it straight back into the WC squad having hardly played any rugby
Moffie you have never got any player right, you back losers like washed up has beens like Matfield and Jean......much like Meyer did and look where that got him.

I do not think that some players like JJ and Coenie (Basically for Health reasons) have not lived up to expectations.   The worst failures over the past two years have been Morne Steyn, Juan de Villiers (after his major injury), Fat Fransie, Fatter Willem Alberts, Victor Matfield and Jannie du Plessis.

Who was dropped and who not - stupid fool?  The fact is Coetzee was never dropped - he was injured and not available.   Goosen was in Europe and not a candidate.   Coemnie was not dropped = he was in the WC squad - so was Serfontein.
Anybody selected by Meyer based on reputation failed and that is a fact as well,  My list indicates the worst failures.  To be selected by Meyer was a bullet in the heart of Springbok rugby.   So dropped by him is not even a remote consideration pf tugby ability.    He picked duds and never dropped them - so why the emphasis on dropping when you are in fact talking BS.

Coenie and Step were starters, they were dropped and were lucky to make the bench. Goosen  was injured and played a bit at fullback on the 2014 YE tour, he was never asked back, ergo dropped.  Coetzee was available while the WC was going on, i.e. dropped.

HM got the Boks to a WC semi...lets see how we do this year.... its not going to be pretty.

Mozart
You are dead wrong about Coetzee being dropped - he was not playing anything and he was off to be back only after the starting of the WC.   He was not ready at the start of the WC squad announcement.
It was Meyer who led us to disaster against Japan with his selection of players.  All the senior players - selected on reputation failed that day - nobody more than Matfield, Jannie, Burger, De Villiers and Pienaar.
We beat the Welsh by a fluke after a dismal performance by a team forced to play a game plan where the ball was consistently passed back to the forwards and the fact they beat Wales was an accident.  There is no way that that kind of game would survive in the WC.
Dropping of players by Meyer is really meaningless since he selected reputation players who never performed up to standard - even Du Preez was a shadow of the player he used to be.  he was better than Pienaar that was altogether useless when eh did play.  The rest of the older players were useless beyond words.  Even Bi smarck was dropped for a match because he gave away penalty after penalty in the Japan game.  You talk about Du Toit - what the hell was Alberts doing in the squad.  Totally useless and Du Toit started in one game and had to play both as lock and loosie because Matfield was standing around in the center position.
I am much more optimistic about the future of the Springboks in this year because the reputation non-performers will not bugger up their games like they did in 2014 and 2015.

"His issue with Coetzee being injured is also problematic.

The player is injured, that is a fact, and if the Boks were to play next week he would not be fit. However, this is also true of seven other players who were selected. Captain Jean de Villiers (fractured jaw), Duane Vermeulen (neck) Jannie du Plessis, Fourie du Preez (both knee) Willie le Roux (ankle), Francois Louw (shoulder) and Coenie Oosthuizen (neck) are were all named with injuries.

It may be that Coetzee would not recover in time to play a part in the opening stages of the World Cup, but with it being known that several of the mentioned seven won’t be ready for the Boks’ opening pool game against Japan, it needs to be asked if there are not other reasons for this omission"

...dropped.
