Meyer is seen as squandering prodigious talent and squeezing the expression out of lively youngsters, in favour of dour veterans.

How can you say he is squandering talent when in every instance he has gone for youth first? You ended up with veterans because the youths have been, for the most part, useless!

Bullshit we have 4 better youngsters in every position that are better than the washed up hasbeens....he has not by any stretch gone for youth first considering the poor selections he has made which include Kirchner, Habana, Hendricks, Mvovo, Fourie, Jean, Olivier, Morne, Pienaar, du Preez, Steenkamp, Heinke v/d Merwe, Brits, Jannie, Bakkies, Flip, Matfield, Louw, Smith, Alberts and Schalk......of these only Schalk has been worthy and to a lesser extend Habana. For the rest we have had far better youngsters to choose from.

Would Habana and Schalk make my starting side - NO

That quote sums the utterly useless Meyer up perfectly

Read Aussie and Kiwi sources and forums, they don't think much about our nex gen players! Until a journo puts a mic in their face then they come with same worn out platitudes to flatter the Saffers by telling them what they know they want to hear.
Saffers eat that stuff up like good little simpletons: "Ya hear dat? We is part uh da crew yo. We za good gettin da pat on da back".
Then the humiliation follows, and the fans are stunned and in their bewilderment clutch at straws straining to figure out the precise moment the wheels fell off.
In the mean time, they never had wheels to begin with. They were parked on bricks. Yet the fantasy goes on...

The same talent was playing in the S15 the year before, so yes that talent. Fact is many of the young stars did not play much S15 rugby and those that did shone. Not to mention how poor our S15 coaches are, especially with their selections bar Ackerman who made so much from so little.

Look no further than the likes of Coetzee, Sithole, Hougaard, Combrink, de Allende, Jessie Kriel, Vorster, Odendaal, Frans Venter, Mnisi, Mapoe, Jantjies, Pollard, Faf, Kitshoff, Nyakane, Marcel v/d Merwe, Koch, Thomas du Toit, Ackers, Scara, Ruan Botha, Etzebeth, Mostert, Jacques du Plessis, Kolisi, Carr, Coetzee, Schalk, Vermeulen, Whiteley and Jaco Kriel....who were the standouts in this years S15....how many of these feature in Meyer's preferred starting 15?

Players that featured very little through injury were v/Wyk, Rhule, Hannekom, Serfontien, Sadie, Frans, Jordaan, Taute, Lambie, Reinach, v/Zyl, Malherbe, Mellett, Coenie, PSDT, Lood, Lewies, Arno Botha, Cook, Mtembu, Rhodes and Elstadt.

Then you have our clueless coach missing out on the talents based overseas like CJ Stander, Willemse, Goosen and v/d Walt

Man I could go on and on.

Bottom line is, that quote is spot on and the only fools are those that think Meyer is doing a good job......the very coach who now has a 45% win record against the major rugby nations in his past 18 months.

You clowns must be so proud of him

Most on your list were bettered by their oceanian counterparts. Even Pollard. Most of the true standout players were veterans.

I m not going to say that Meyer is as bad as some say he is.  However, Meyer made some serious mistakes in selection and that is the problem actually causing both from the public in the media  and also on this site.
The positives of Meyer is that he is intensely interested in the team he is coaching.  He is loyal to the players and certainly tries what he thinks is the best for the Springboks.  There is no reason where anyone can say he is not a gentleman of exemplary standing.
The negative is perhaps related to being too loyal to some players and his tendency to select players he is acquainted with.   That caused two problems where he faces constant criticism:-
*   His tendency to select players that could not produce long term benefits for the team and in the main was past their best and who could never be regarded as real long term prospects iro development of a viable squad for the 2015 WC.
*   The resultant deficiency in that now virtually months before the WC are stuck with a situation that the WC squad still has serious gaps in it and we are stuck with inexperienced players in certain positions.
The latter issue is largely due to the fact that there was in some positions too much fiddling around with past reputation players and not allowing for the gaining of experience on test level by younger players.
Maybe Meyer made the mistake of sticking with some players and only made changes when forced to do so by injury.

So now you are telling me a fleet of spritely youths set upon Super rugby like a force from hell? Where did they finish? Bottom of the pile. For all the talk of Damian, no tries and shoddy defence. Nothing but the usual hot air PR tripe.

I have realised that we Saffers are as thick as the blocks of stone at Thebes...no humility, little depth, education....rugby itself is a puzzle...simple Simons that cannot even solve....brilliant guys like Mozart, Saffex and Cerudunce and few immigrated to further and stimulate their brain before pollution  soe where else only to find the yanks and poms are a little less dense. All the brains we have left are CC ...should be in Oz...theyll even think he' s clever

Damian as statistically the worst defensive centre in SH rugby - FACT. Also couldn't straighten a very lateral Stormers attack - FACT. That makes it 2-0 to me. Have a nice day sweety. Endut.

Provide evidence that he was the worst defensive centre in the SH you lying twat......as for not being able to straighten and attack.......I doubt you even know what that means......so dont give your 2-0 crap......you know fuck all anyway but keep telling us DA is poor for everytime you do, you make your stupid name more muddy that it already is.
No-one agrees with anything you say on here.....all anyone does is attack you for your rugby ignorance and stupidity - FACT
Now be a sport and provide the evidence re DA defensively - LIAR

Deal with item number 1: the Aussie video. Then we can talk the All Black test. Then we can talk Super rugby (when I schooled you so hard you threatened never to speak to me again... a not so subtle act of surrender).
 http://www.rugby365.com/article/67536-nonu-damian-is-not-a-revolving-door
It appears Damian himself has acknowledged he struggles on defence. Tell me now he is a stupid twat knowing nothing about the game! Dave, you are getting beaten to a pulp, again.
Yet more, given me one example of Damian straightening the attack. All the footage I have seen has him attack space, and the odd time he carries into traffic he gets folded like a sheet of paper.
Boks should have an envelope ready for the World Cup, they can just send him first class to A&E the next time he meets the better centres. And don't get me started on Kuridrani making him look like a fool! Start where you wish, all roads lead to "I Win"

I did. The Super XV stats collected by Verusco and the numerous clips I posted. You still can't defend him because you cannot cite any references of thee wonderful things Damian does.
