#warplank All your comments are racially motivated.Words like du-tchy, clog-wogs...Not all white people are bad and you illiterate antagonism is far below par.You have no idea what South Africa is like. How hard it is to live there and how poor the country is because of a corrupt government.Your antagonism is insulting.Apartheid wasn't my fault or choice. It was the choice of our parents who voted for it.You are a nasty coward warplank that finds joy in antagonizing a group of "white" people that had no power over what happened 40 years ago.Shame on you and hope the editor reigns you in for this blatant attack of white people. You are one nasty person.

When I was in school we were allmost were forced to play rugby by the teachers at the start of high school. And I went to an English speaking high school in Durban.
Maybe the government can pass a law that forces all school children to play rugby instead of the preferred football. This would create a larger talent pool of black players to choose from.
Problem is that most of the talent pool is from A Frikaans first language speakers because rugby is by far their preferred sport as a culture. It was also important in English speaking schools, but we tended to play more sports like surfing as well. When we used to play football the beach many of the a frikaners had two left feet when it came to football, and mostly they were not too good at surfing either. However they did mostly beat us when playing school vs school rugby, especially when the schools had the same amount of students. I would also like to see more first language English speaking players playing rugby, like Bob Skinstad and Percy Montgomery.

Wardad, I personally know 2 guys who were in the British Army. The one got injured in Afghanistan in contact and was put on medical pension and has returned to SA, the other bloke returned when his father got sick and is now in the South African Police. A lot of Saffas are career soldiers in the British Army and various other countries, so much so that our government are looking to implement legislation to control it. Not to even mention mercenaries doing "security" work for the US in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. Here again, I know at least 2 guys working as "soldiers" abroad. I'm not saying FA are who says he is, but it is more than likely that he is telling the truth.

South Africa have used a lot of foreigners for ages. IIRC the Ex-Rhodesians had a PR suffix to their force numbers. PE was/is Permanent Force. National servicemen (initial traing) was BG, IIRC. We actually had one, a Commandant (Lieutenant-Colonel, nowadays) in our section.

Australia: Overseas Applicants

New Zealand:

I am not a New Zealand citizen. Can I join the New Zealand Defence Force?

You can be enlisted into the New Zealand Defence Force as a Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth citizen provided you meet some additional criteria, but personnel need to be New Zealand citizens eligible to hold New Zealand passports in order to be deployed overseas on operational service.

Commonwealth Army heroes 'betrayed' as the MoD brings in test forcing them to live in Britain for five years before signing up

Soldiers from Commonwealth countries have been banned from joining Britain’s Armed Forces unless they have lived here for five years.

The residency test, which came into force yesterday, will prevent overseas recruits joining immediately as they do now.

The Ministry of Defence reinstated the requirement, which was scrapped in 1998, as it attempts to reduce the size of the military by nearly 30,000 troops.

But the controversial move could lead to accusations of betrayal because Commonwealth troops have shed blood for the UK on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan – as well as in previous conflicts such as the two world wars.

In the past decade 24 Commonwealth soldiers have been killed in conflict. Dozens more have been wounded.

Hey CleanCut
Ever heard of this...
"Morality is the weapon of the weak."
When i look at the world and ask myself who plays the hardest game of morality on the rest of the world's population then i am forced to look very specifically at one race.
The problem is this. Necessity. Climatic conditions in Africa meant no wheel ever had to be invented. Which is fine. But it also means that conditions here were so "liveable" that resilience IE problem solving and future planning such as farming, engineering etc where not selected for in the native gene pool. It's simply didn't need to be. People were having kids and genes were being passed from generation to generation just fine.
So when you compare the people from Europe that came to the Cape, not the Portuguese, because they found the Cape much to harsh and moved along to Mozam...haha where the mozzies screwed them over in the swampy conditions. I'm talking about the people from Northern Europe who settled here, the people from cold places where planning ahead was vital, and where being alive today meant systems had to put in place and maintained years ago. When you compare those two groups of people, there was only ever gonna be one winner in terms of modern society.
Ultimately it means that yes people are not all equal. We have different strengths and weakness depending on the challenges gene pools faced during the spread of humans around the world.
Funny how we can all very easily admit that you will never find a better 100m sprinter than a black man of central African decent, never a better problem solver than a far eastern man, never a greater tracker than an aboriginal/bushman...and yet we have to hush when it comes to the strengths of the the caucasian population.
Morality, a strange creature.

An interesting read, Plum.

You have obviously taken offense to my earlier post and have decided to voice your disapproval.

Ok!

I see you’ve given it some thought and you have some valid points. There’s a spot in the Sun for us all.

Tell me, why would you have to hush when it comes to the talents of the Caucasian?

Are we that sensitive? That insecure? Do we go into fits of rage when our race is mentioned in a derogatory fashion? Do we drag you into the courtrooms because you called us a name?

You are right. The black man can run the 100m … for that matter the 10 000m quicker than anyone else. Superb athletes. Of that there’s no doubt. It's a talent given them.

We on the other hand looked at our short comings and build a car, a plane, a train, a boat to get to our destination even quicker. A talent given us.

Do we try to force our way into places we by rights have no right to?

Have we established global organizations that seclude all other races?

Has the black race?

Who is more racist these days? The white Man? The black man?

Who has more issues about their skin colour than any other race on the planet?

Why is this my fault?

Society tells me that I am to be tolerant of the black race. Are they tolerant of me and what’s mine?

It takes two tango my friend.

Respect is earned … not demanded.

No CleanCut, i never took any offence. Sorry if it came across that way. Was just expressing the way i feel about it.
My view is that political correctness is part of the problem because one can never find a solution to a problem until you are allowed to assess the problem in it's entirety.
In this case it would be that there are clear differences between the races but our politically correct crazy world tells us that everyone is exactly the same in all areas, which is the biggest load of nonsense ever. No species is the same throughout, why should humans be, especially when one considers the varying climates we evolved in.
Really, no offence taken mate and awfully sorry if i came across as condescending or otherwise.
Actually i'm not really sure why you thought i was offended. I was kinda elaborating on what you said. crossed wires :/

CC & Plum . There is a lot of banter, BS and plain rudeness on this board sometimes. A lot is said TIC and people take exception to things for different reasons. This, which by the looks of it, started out like it was going to turn into a ball of c-rap again ended up in a hell of an interesting debate with great and very valid points both ways. Well done.

My mistake, Plum.

I've re-read you post and now see it differently.

Sorry about that.

Most folk tend to swallow what they've been given without thought. It seems your not one of them. That in itself is a breath of fresh air.

I too do not easily accept what society says I must ... and this trends to ruffle some folks feathers, which inevitably lands me up in the dwang.

Either way ... it doesn't change how I see things.

I fully agree with you. We are as different to each other as night is to day. It would be so much better if we as a society would realize this and work toward our strengths as a whole instead of always competing against each other.

It'll never happen though.

No worries CC. I thought there was a miss-communication somewhere.
It does seem to suck to be a whitey these days. One has to rise above, i suppose.
Quotas are a total joke though. It reeks of insecurity and antagonism. Those two words pretty much sum up our government. But honestly the current gov are the dinosaur remains of the freedom fighters who naturally have a huge chip on their shoulder. I do however, have a lot of faith in the younger generation that is to follow.
It's sad to say but the older generation and their daft ideas simply have to die out before actual positive change will occur. Sadly this is years away....unless haha.
And indeed thank you for the compliment Ceradyne. Right now i'm suspicious!
