What you wrote now is far removed from fact - up to two weeks ago you were still insisting that Francois Steyn should be the no 12 center. This story goes further back than last year in any event - but last year you condemned De Allende outright - you never said he has potential.
Now the story about his defense. I want to ask you from where you get the following garbage:-
"He is still beaten too often by a step to the inside."
The vast majority of the tackles missed by De Allende is where he follows up kicks and where he has to cover missed tackles by other players. If you look carefully at the missed tackles it virtually never happens that an inside step is the reason for the missed tackles - the facts listed by me are the main problems.
Just another question - how come missed tackles is an issue with De Allende - but not applicable in the case of Francois Steyn. He is a much worse defender and there is not a word about that from you.

Check the Canes/ Stormers game and their field length try.....just one example of being stepped to the inside. De Allende is still learning defensive alignment, if you don't get that, you don't get rugby.

This from a fool who seriously know nothing about rugby - one incident and that is career-defining in his book.
Now a further question - why no comment on the Steyn defense? Why is he such a poor tackler?

I think that De Allende is the form centre at moment for SA and have made steady progress. Yes, his defence can improve, but then if you look at the Canes back line, even Sonny Bill will get stepped around with so many threats to defend against.
The canes has gone unbeaten thus far this season and probable will take the trophy this year bar any injuries.
To me De Allende should get the bok 12 Jumper.
Kriel has been sublime. Probably to soon to get him in the bok squad, but then he could learn at this world cup.
What is his real position? 13 or 15?

Kriel played in the U20 WC last year and was exceptional at 13. However, he has not played there since and the Bulls will not give him a chance in that position - knowing the dunderhead Ludeke.
I think he was actually as good at 13 last year as he is as a full back this year.

100% correct - but we need proper coaching to enhance the skill set of the centers as well. That is where the bottom falls out in the case of Meyer. His selections are often enough based on size, not on ball skills and ball sense. However, since his appointment it seems as if he is beginning to realise that his initial emphasis on a single-minded kicking game set is not the answer.
Hence his selection of Willie le Roux. There are nowadays a constant series of attacks on Le Roux - but the problem is that Le Roux tries too hard to initiate attacking moves, while nobody else do the same. That is why some of his tactics do not work. He is still by some distance the best full back in SA - but we need more Le Roux's in our backlines and to achieve that we need better coaching of our backline players who have the basic skills, but needs refinement.
