Mvovo.....finally vindication

Three years ago when I pointed out Mvovo was not cutting the mustard, that he was good against weak teams but overawed against top wings....I was villified. Then two years ago when he failed to collect a simple kick against the Bargies, the penny started to drop....but Davie boy still held firm.

So now I see he finally says Mvovo in the Match 23 is a mistake. This is a week where JJ has also finally fallen from grace in Dave's well thumbed "books".

Actually I think Mvovo is finally at least a decent player, his stint at fulback improved he high ball skills. Still no test player, but better than when he was the flavour of the day.

Just another example of an over hyped youngster. But why does this happen so much in our rugby. What is this thirst for the unproven new?

Um, its simple.......Mvovo is a good player, but a bit long in the tooth now......there are better youngsters......3 years ago was a long time ago.

Wake up Moz, Mvovo is getting on.......has nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with his age.......much like Habana and JP, its just not happening anymore......wing is a young man's game.

But more to the point......if you have two experienced wings in JP and Habana in your starting side, why stupidly add another wing to the bench......that's how stupid Meyer is......with two young centres starting, it would have made far more sense to have a centre as cover on the bench......but alas, it is Meyer making the calls here.

I mean, what the hell is Heinke v/d Merwe doing on the bench? If its not Steenkamp its some other never been......could Meyer be more stupid......I reckon PDV had more savvy than this clown.......but what I love is you think Meyer has it right........bwhaaahaaaaa

Yep its too old for a wing to be starting to make a go of things as an international winger.......had he been an incumbent like JP or Habana, I'd look at it differently......but his selection now is a joke given the likes of Senatla, Sithole, v/Wyk and Combrink would have been far better investments.

But this sums Meyer up, his conservatism sees him stick with players like Mvovo who know the system......he is too narrow minded to introduce the more worthy player because hey ho they don't know the Bok system.

I have always rated Mvovo.......but never ahead of JP and Habana.......much like I rated Olivier, but never ahead of Jean.......the fact that JP and Habana are showing signs of reaching the end does not mean that Mvovo, of similar age should be the player Meyer should be investing in.......are you able to comprehend this fact......I guess not?
