15. Willie (11/14)

14/11. Senatla / JP (13) / Habana

13/12. de Allende (11) / Kriel (11/15) / Serfontein / v/Wyk (14) / Frans Steyn (12/10/15)

10. Pollard (12) / Lambie (15)

9. Hougaard (11) / Faf / Reinach

1/3. Beast / Marcel v/d Merwe (3/1) / Malherbe / Nyakane (1/3) / Kitshoff

2. Bismark / Strauss

4/5. Etzebeth / Lood / Willemse / PSDT (7) / Jacques du Plessis (7)

6/7/8. Vermeulen / CJ Stander / Kolisi / Jaco Kriel / Schalk

I pushed myself to include JP, Habana, Frans and Schalk for experience sake......the likes of Sithole, v/Wyk, Jantjies and Arno Botha would have been my preferable choices.....Arno is under an injury cloud and has not played much rugby of late, Schalk has been in good form. JP has not been in great form but spent most of the S15 wasted at 13. He remains a quality player. Habana is past his best but is an experienced campaigner and had a good enough test in his last outing. Frans like JP, needs to up his game. I would liked to have taken Jannie for experience sake as well but cant find room for him.

Out injured and who would have made my squad are Coenie and Coetzee

 Dave

You need 6 props in the team - you have only listed 5 props - there needs to be 6.  There also needs to be 4 hookers, so you will have to reduce the number of locks or loosies  by at least one.
I have also a problem with the backline numbers.  There needs to be cover for the full back and they need for that person at least another flyhalf.
Please note that -
*   Vorster is injured and out for the rest of 2015;*   Steyn has not been declared fit and has had no game time since May 2015 - he ill not getting fame time as he is contracted to play in Japan;*   I have serious reservations by JP as well - he is still in rehabilitation and what he has shown this year he was seriously speed-deficient.
In general I have no problem with your selections - but it is evident that the VI's will not agree with you.

I understand you can pick 31 players for your squad.

15. Willie (11/14)

14/11. Senatla / Habana, Combrinck (ALSO 15), (JP unfortunately plays game after game loafing away)

13/12. de Allende (11,14) / Kriel (13/15 plus wing as well) / Serfontein / Jean (12/13)

10. Pollard (12) / Lambie (15), Morne.

9. Hougaard (11) / Faf / Reinach

1/3. Beast / Jannie / Malherbe / Nyakane (1/3) / Kitshoff

2. Bismark / Strauss/Ackkers (Lions hooker

4/5. Etzebeth / Lood / Willemse / PSDT (7) / Jacques du Plessis (7)

and 6/7/8. Vermeulen (8 and 7)  / CJ Stander / Louw9 6 and 7)/ Jaco Kriel / Schalk (7& 8) NOT SURE RE STANDER AS HAVENT SEEN HIM PLAY BUT HE WAS VERY GOOD BEFORE LEAVING SA.

That looks to be a pretty good side and one meyer can safely use as a benchmark. Kolis is not remotely in the class of Kriel and we only need one small flanker. It will be a big blow if Coetzee doesnt make it.

It will be a bigger blow if wee victor does.

Crap there is no rule saying there needs to be 6 props and no way in hell will any squad have 4 Hookers.
My squad stays as is. I would replace Vorster with v/Wyk, Odendaal  or Frans Venter
Kriel and Lambie cover 15, Frans covers 10 and 15

Rubbish Louw is a must given Coetzee is out. Question is whther to take brussouw or Jaco kriel. One could drop Du Plessis as Steph is on board (Hence 5 locks and enough big loosies). Then t ake both brussouw and Kriel

Saffex how can you knock Meyer if you cant agree with your own starting team.
Just the other day you had
-Faff "was" your number one scrumhalf, but he has been relegated to back up player.
-You had Jantjies ahead of Lambie, but now Lambie is back in 2nd spot.
-You had Sithole for Habana.
- Delande and Kriel are no longer covering wing
Many of the others are the same as Meyer.
This is your team yesterday. Faff has gone from starting to the bench. Jantjies is listed ahead of Lambie. Habana has come back into the running in one day.
A schizophreniac selector? The Rudolf Straeuli of rugby fans......

Sharktwat mine would be:

15. Willie 14. de Allende/Kriel 13. Kriel 12. Serf/de Allende 11. Senatla 10. Pollard 9. Faf

Bench of Hougaard (in brilliant form at 9 for the Bulls in his last two games),

Jantjies/Lambie and Vorster......with the likes of Reinach, Goosen, Frans Steyn, Odendaal, Frans Venterv/Wyk, JP, Habana, Sithole, Kolbe and Combrink competing for the rest of the back squad spots.

Shark what the fuck are you talking about....I make no mention of who starts I listed a squad of 31.
Did you not read my post....did you miss the bit about being pushed into selecting the likes of Habana and co for experience sake....given its a WC.
Are you really this thick?
I have selected Lambie ahead of Jantjies because of his utility value.

Crap Beeno Louw is average....there are far better options including Kolisi, Carr and Brussouw not that Louw is a 6

Captain Jack in Tomorrow Land?  Is there any hope for improvement...I fear not Kolisi will stubbornly still be there...Jannie will stubbornly still be out.

Dave,        I do like your selection but have one question.        Does Meyer have to have more transformation players in the squad.
Not sure what the mix is but perhaps clevermike and company can supply the answer as to the numbers.        AGREE COMPLETELY WITH YOUR LOCK SELECTION.

There may be no rule - but the standard procedure of all participating nations is to take 3 Tightheads and 3 Looseheads to the WC. This is to cater for injuries and to always have two players in those two positions in place.  A replacement player is ruled out from the first ensuing game after his  arrival and no team can go onto the field of play without 2 tightheads and 2 looseheads  in the 23 man squad to play on a specific day.  That would not be possible if they have no alternate player  readily available
The same general principle applies to hookers, scrummies and flyhalfs as well.

Fartur the trick is to make some pretence that you don't care...even if it's so obvious to all that your tiny little mini me is hurt.

Mike there is no standard procedure, so as I said my squad stands - its not up for debate.

If a player gets injured , I'd send him home and replace him with another
