15   Willie le Roux  14   Ruan Combrick/Lionel Mapoe 13   Jesse Kriel/Harold Vorster 12   Damian de Allende 11   Jamba Ulengo  10   Handre Pollard  9    De Klerk/Reiinach/Venter  8    Duane Vermeulen  7    Labuschagne  6    Jaco Kriel  5    Pieter/Steph du Toit/Lood de Jager  4    Eben Etzebeth  3    Frans Malherbe  2    Bismarck du Plessis/Adriaan Strauss  1    Tendai Mtawarira
16    Malcolm Marx17    Trevor Nyakane18    Julian Redelinghuys 19    Du Toit/ De Jager20    Marcel Coetzee21    One of the listed players above22    Patrick Lambie23    Jan Serfontein
The above assume that Habana is retiring as well - leaving that wing position wide open.  I do not think that Hougaard will play at scrummie for the Bulls Super 15 team with Paige and Van Zyl back in the mix
I would consider to play Marcel Coetzee at 7 and put Labuschagne on the bench.  Louw is too poor a general investment to retain.  He may be a candidate for the wing - but would play Ulengo their as first choice.
Bar Habana  all the above players are better performers than the retirees they will replace.  I would rather have Malcolm Marx as a hooker than either of Bismarck or Strauss.
The above changes will give us a strong Tight 5 and usable loosies who would not rate themselves as backline players.   The backline will function properly as well and not be sidelined like Du Preez and Pienaar managed to do in the RWC.  Which SARU would employ a proper backline coach to deal with development of the backline as a unit.
The above will depend  on how the players concerned develop in Super 15.  There may be some surprises though as well.
The future without the retirees look so bright I will need shades.  The damage done to the Springboks by players like Willemn Alberts. Victor Matfield and Jannie du Plessis will b a thing of the past and most of the others will not be missed as well.

That looks awful. Truly awful. Only two test quality backs. Only four test quality forwards. Only two genuine test quality bench players, Serfontein is okay at 13 terrible at 12.

The team will do much better without the duds used thus far.  What you regard is test quality is NOT test quality.  Anybody punting Morne Steyn, Francois Steyn, Victor Matfield and Willem Alberts as test quality - has his own head up his backside.
Why not make some suggestions - so that we can enjoy the jokes you will come up with.

The duds are still in the team, only new ones are added in. All the centres are worthless. The wings are just inviting trouble. The loose trio recklessly unbalanced and vulnerable. Both #5 locks are proven failures: Lood against the best teams and Stephanie has done nothing outside of a CC in what, three years?

Well, winning rugby is much harder than scribbling names down on toilet paper whilst relieving yourself. Here's a much better team:

15.Willie
14.JP
13.Serfontein
12.Frans
11.Damian
10.Pollard
09.Hougaard
08.Duane
07.Undecided
06.Brussow
05.Flip
04.Eben
03.Malherbe
02.Strauss
01.Nyakane

At the very worst I would go Serfontein at 12 with Kriel at 13. At least it has some semblance of experience and players who have been competitive at test level! Not flubs who have done nothing and been battered throughout Super rugby.

The BS raining in buckets again.   One of the best 12's in the SH must make way for Fat Fransie - the poorest performer in Super 15 in 2013, 2014, and 2015.   Supreme Joke of the year.   JP is going backwards fast - as fast s he is losing pace.
Brussow ahead of Kriel - that is a serious joke as well,   Flippie is a real stunner - the funniest thing on rugby in years - Can he play without being penalized or carded.  Good to have him play and vanish in Europe. ]
To be quite frank I would prefer a center pairing of either De Allende and Kriel or De Allende and Vorster the second one probably better than the first.
Fat Fransie - Wahahahahahahahaha - you funny guy,

A truly horrible team.....and illustrative of the challenges ahead. Can you imagine Liggies in the WC....Stephanie we already saw, totally out of his depth.....the provincial Combrink....untested, unbooted Faf...and some Jambo who has never seen a NZ adult?

This.....bwaaaaaahahahahahahaa ....is what they wanted HM to pick? You can't be serious.....this is nothing.

 Mozart
Labuschagne is ten times the loosie Willem Alberts ever was.  What is horrible?   Is it that it does not include players that caused us to lose half of the test matches we played in since last year through under-performance?
The laug hter is about the lunacy of even considering Fat Fransie - the worst center in all of Super 15 for three years running.
That team will beat any team comprising the reputation without performance players that has poisoned sA rugby in the last three years.  What can be more horrible than having Alberts and Matfield in a team.
The cancer is being removed - now we can go forward at last.

I put Coertzee on the bench - and discussed the possibility of playing him at 7 - but that would reduce our line-out options.  Will never forget about Coetzee.  I am not as dumb as Mozart and DF is about player evaluation.

That is fitting for your lunacy in team selections and players you support - I remain a realist and open-minded fan.   The handicaps ar largely out - and the stagnation removed - time is ripe to move forward.

Ag BS as per normal - the older AB players are going as well - you stupid old fool.  They will also implement a major rebuilding programme over the next few years,   You cannot understand the need for team renewal that was neglected completely by Meyer over the last few years and before him by De Villiers,
The whole story is that you are a fool because you do not realize that the Springbok team was not only hampered by under-performance of the older players - but also the necessary adjustment of skills.  Players like Du Preez and Matfield can only play the Bulls game of 2002 that was ingrained in them then - and their development got stuck in that era.  That is why in this WC we played the 2002 Bulls game plan and struggled even against Japan.
What a fool to write about the AB's whom he knows less about than his dimunitive knowledge of SA Rugby.
