In the final analysis about the WC we faced an Argentinian "B" team and still put in a scrappy performance noted more for the fact of ball losses and poor play - but gools on this site suddenly discovered a reason for their normal praise singing of the useless players.
This WC was noted for best-forgotten performances by players who should never have been in the squad and by application of a game plan that was BS in capital letters. However, it showed up clearly where the things have hone wrong in a year of rugby performances more noted for losses then anything else.
There are positives though and those basically are -
* that we will be rid of some of the worst reputation players ever in any Springbok team and their replacement by talented players neglected by Meyer would be a real future advantage;
* even if Meyer is retained as coach he will not get away with his present assistant coaches - he will have to lose his role in appointment of assistant coaches and get some real professionals for that job through advertisement of the jobs;
* the replaced players will not get a more modern and realistic game plan to misfire since they have skills not associated with the departing retirees and non-selectable other players in future.
