No, you don't scare me, because I love life, I love it too much for you to make me shudder in fear, I love it too much for you to intimidate me. I'm a woman, you know, I have that genital organ that according to your misogynous customs signifies weakness, and reduces me to an object, a nobody.

And I'm not afraid of you, I'm going to go on living, to travel by plane, to listen to music and sing aloud to it, to dance, to have drinks on the terrace with people I love, because, yes, I love. That feeling that's non-existent in your body - did the God who created you forget to provide you with it?

Is it the absence of love that allows you to carry military weapons and to kill innocent people on the streets? Or is it the absence of a brain that would give you perspective?

I'm going to keep laughing, yes, I love to laugh at everything and especially at caricatures, you know, the ones you came and paid us a visit about last January, because you lacked a sense of humour.

I like to dress as I please, to wear short, loose dresses in summer, to feel free. I like to get my hair done and to feel the wind run through it. Have you ever run your hands through a woman's hair?

I love my life - but you know who I owe it to? To my country, France, to my dear homeland that protects my freedoms and allows me to pursue my studies, allows me to love, to laugh, to cry, to rise up and be the woman that I am today.

This joyful and happy France, this France that shines, this France that's so sweet and so lovely, this France that you're trying to poison with your venom, that you're trying to sully with blood that you're spilling. This France that you envy allows us to live, while you're walking dead, all alone after your acts of terrorism.

I'm a woman and I'm not afraid of you, I will never be afraid of you. My life goes on - yours ended long ago.

Freedom scares you, but you will never take mine away from me.

And by the way, read the Quran properly and stop associating yourself with my religion and my God. You have disgraced me.

I am May, a French-Tunisian Muslim.

It is doubtful she will remain a muslim for long. Many muslims are leaving Is lam as they realise the koran supports these jihardists and their deeds cannot be of the true God. Many are also becoming atheists and many are becoming Christian.Go and google this.
Agree Moz a brave girl indeed and to all leaving the muslim faith as they are ostracized by family and friends and can also be killed for leaving.

Baboon-ou, it's "jihad", not "jihard".

Just trying to spare you further embarrassment.

All religions are losing adherents. It's a natural and perfectly understandable progression (a bit like evolution) that as people become more educated and evolve greater intelligence, they stop believing the primitive god-fearing nonsense their ancestors used to believe and they start thinking for themselves.

Don't worry Baboon-ou. It's been proven that the more stupid a person is the more religious he or she is likely to be . . . so those of us who are unfortunate enough to know you don't expect you to be anything but a blinkered bible-bashing fundamentalist who cannot tolerate other religions or opposing points of view . . . exactly like the "jihardists" (sic) that you hate so much!

LMAO!

Strangely enough theres a direct correlation between poverty and lack of education = religious nutfu.ckery .Smarter richer nations dont need it so much eh ? Beenis and the muslims have way more in common than he will admit ,they are all stuck in the dark ages and beleive in fairy tales plus of course their casual barbarity towards non believers .

 Brave lass.
Blaming all Muslims for a few radicalised idiots would be like blaming all Christians for the KKK. All religions have a few evil eggs , it's unfortunately the world we live in.
I can't imagine the stuff everyday muslims have had to put up with when they themselves have done nothing wrong.Personally, I'm an atheist

Read my post, it makes it seem like I think every atheist is good, not what I meant Draad.

I was just saying that I'm an atheist, there's definitely as many idiots who are athiest as there are atheists who are Religious, perhaps maybe even more. I wasn't trying to act like it was better in anyway.

But, my definition is that I don't believe in a greater being, be that a god or whatever.

Always as hard to understand what they mean.

It was decided to assign the purpose of wreaking terror to these attacks. That objective is  unsure.
People in countries at war keep living. Driving in certain countries is riskier than the risks  carried by these attacks. Yet people keep driving. They keep living.

Presenting as an achievement  what happens  regularly in countries at war or when knowing that people are already  taking more risks with their life is baseless.

In the meantime, though, changes are happening.
The french president announced measures.

While hammering that freedom is at the heart of the culture of death, the french president announced harmful to freedom measures.
While assuring he wants to bring people together, he announced measures to ruin the fabric of the nation as he decided to create two classes of citizens: those who can be stripped of their nationality and those who can not.

And that's only two among other things.

And what does that woman oppose to that? That, as a woman, she can enjoy materialistic pleasures.

The first bit of news for her is that if she was moved elsewhere in the world, including in places that do not live under the yoke of muslim believers, she might not be able to enjoy those pleasures, not because she is prevented, but because the materialistic conditions are not available. Millions of women all around the world cant enjoy what she pushes forward.
The second bit of news for her is that the material conditions she enjoys in France are mostly due to the colonial capital France accumulated. As this capital is waning, great economical woes have accordingly risen.
The third bit of news for her is that she is the type of women who would happily push other women in depriving conditions as long as this ensures she is the one who enjoys the materialistic conditions she praises so much.
In that, she would welcome an alliance with muslims.

Muslims, keep oppressing women at home so that this woman can still enjoy her pleasures. This is what it will take in a world bent to destruction and with depleting resources.

Are you intentionally cryptic? I think i may have to coin a new term for your style, Crypto-philosophy. Haha figure it out, and then be confused as fek ;) I will smoke some zol tomorrow and re-read some of your posts. As far as I can tell I agree with a lot of it, once I figure it out.

Went to a restaurant after and one of my friends came call me from the middle of the place as I had been standing there for 10 minutes staring at the plants. I thought it was the Salad Valley...like at the the Spur haha, but it was jsut plants.I was actually looking under the leaves to see if the salad was not in bowls under there.

Plum, I had a similar experience in Amsterdam about 2 years ago. I must explain, I had given up smoking for many years before then so I didn't dare smoke a spliff, but I had a space cake instead. I ate half a space cake while we were walking to the Van Gogh museum and 15 minutes later I was complaining to my wife that nothing was happening, so I ate the other half of the space cake. Another 15 minutes went by and still nothing was happening so I went to another "coffee shop" and bought another space cake and ate the whole thing. The next thing I remember was about 3 hours later in the Van Gogh musuem, my wife tugging at me telling me I'd been staring at "Almond Blossom" for about and hour and 45 minutes.
It's an experience I would recommend to anyone . . . eat a space cake and visit the Van Gogh Museum . . . but one space cake is plenty . . . and book your ticket online otherwise you will (apparently) have at least a 1 hour queue.

Haaaaahahahahahahaaaa!!!

I too experimented with weed, but in my early twenties ... and at times also found myself wandering off to places I never thought possible. Talk about being deep in thought.

Problem is when I tried to remember where I'd been, I couldn't.

I guess that must be how Mozart feels nowadays ... but without the use of a "spliff" ... vacant ... can't for the life of me understand why the codger's complaining.

Plum ... you crack me up man!!

Oh and by the way thanks for the guitar suggestion. It's a good idea.

In my long career I( worked for the then Department of Forestry for ten years and that is why I found the Weza story in Amsterdam so funny - after all Weza, situated between Harding and Kokstad is the biggest plantation in the SH.
When I was in Forestry Department I knew the situation perfectly well - the trees was the cover from helicopter over-flights and the staff were virtually all involved in the trade - but how do you prove that.
Personally I have years ago smoked weed a few times - but it did nothing to me and I found it strange that some people uses it.
However, a more recent incident in Ballito was an eye-opener.  One of the town Councillors during a meeting mentioned that a friend of hers has  cancer and the only thing that relieves the pain is dagga tea.  He lost his supply and the Councillor asked if anyone knows where to get some of the stuff.  One of the White staff members quietly got up and  left the chamber.  He came back about ten minutes later - put a parcel before the Councillor and said it cost R20.   There was apparently a roaring trade going on at the filling station next to the Municipal offices.    End of story.

 Crypto philosophy?
The philosophy bit takes little time: nobody on this site does philosophy.

The cryptic side takes longer.

Apparently, some on this site find nothing puzzling in that a text does not correspond with its title.

The title is: Open Letter to ISIS From a Muslim Woman

The letter that follows the title has little correspondence with the title.
From reading the letter alone, it turns very difficult to  understand that the letter was written by a muslim woman. The title has to give the information away for it to be understood.

Lets try another title: Open Letter to ISIS From a Well-off person living in an affluent country

As of a sudden, the correspondence between the title and the letter is no longer cryptic.

There is no correspondence between muslim, woman and the content of the letter.
The letter could have been written by a non muslim man as well.
The letter has no faith and has no gender. The perception of the gender and the faith as mattering elements depend only on the title.

Could the letter have been written by non well off people living in a non affluent country? No.

To certain degrees, the letter could not have been written by non well off women living in France.
There are women in France who have never set foot in a plane or do not get their hair done because they cant afford.

It is time to go back to that cryptic thing.

The letter is written by a person who self declares as a muslim and a woman. The letter tells nothing of the writer as a woman and a muslim.
On the other hand, the letter tells everything of the writer as a well off person living in an affluent country.

Those things are obvious from reading the letter and the title.
People do not rely on other people to see that kind of things.
That is when the cryptic thing is tackled.
There is no cryptic in what is obvious.

People must read several times to try to figure out? Dont waste that time on reading that, spend time on reading the letter and the title.

When done, it is obvious that the title bears no relation to the content, that the author must declare herself as a muslim and a woman for it to be understood when the text she wrote tells of her as a well person who lives in an affluent country.

Bollocks. The letter has everything to do with  fear and destruction as practiced by ISIS and a free persons defiance and love of her values. The fact that she claims to be muslim is irrelevant although it adds a further note of defiance in her stance.

Deny, I understand the point and agree with the message, but something is off. Where did you find it? Just interested. Look, this is the kind of feel good stuff normally distributed via chain e-mails by phishers to collect e-mail address to sell to spammers. They bank on good people spreading the word and then ride on the coattails to make a buck. No real harm done and a good message is spread.

Soon enough, this muslim woman who lives in France is going to be invited by people in France, especially those women who cant live the life she depicts, to go and check in any muslim nation freed from ISIS if she can live the same type of life.

1-0 to Traditionalist. Traditionalist be like "I'm not even gonna read the letter. I'll just kick you in a nads right from the title. You just got enigmad biatch! Next." Haha naais Rooi. You realise what you did was the equivalent of saying "My wife wanted to watch porn but i find it dodgey so I hired three strippers for us instead." I'm surprised with that dosage that you didn't meet Van G himself. That queue was "apparantly" an hour long...haha quality! Clean Cut, i think that if ever you do start getting more deeply into guitar...it's safe to believe what Bill Hicks said about musicians and contraban. Did you know Mark Knopfler wrote a lot of stuff while so I high that he couldn't remember it. He'd get high, hit record and then just play. He'd then listen to it the next day and try to figure out what he'd done. The leads on both Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing are some results. Bill Hicks man. Bill Hicks. I fear that because of this thread I might forever wear the tag of toking liberal hippy. This is not the case. I shave, often. I do however, support the movement for legalisation. SA tourism would benefit greatly from such a move by our government. I promise, I'm thinking solely of the economy. Also, I used to be on a West Indian cricket team in South London. A lot of the guys would smoke before/during fielding, and man they were funny. When the batsman is called for time wasting because he can't stop laughing at the oppos jokes, then you know.

  Another side of the story.

Ever wondered why the Arab countries are doing nothing for the  refugees?         Here is an excellent FB post that ALL people should read. This fellow is an Historian who offers an accurate assessment of the root of the problem the world faces today and likely well into the future.      Syria has had a civil war for almost 5 YEARS. Why all the "refugees" NOW and why so all of a SUDDEN and why in such VAST NUMBERS?      With an Honors degree in History and a lifelong student of the subject, I smell a rat.      This is a highly organized, well oiled, mobilized invasion of Muslims and Jihadists into the Western World. It's been in their plan for a long time. Momar Gadhafi predicted and explicitly stated that Muslim domination of Europe would happen without a conventional war and he said it 30 years ago. 95% of these economic "refugees" many who have cellphones are men between the fighting ages of 20 and 40. Very few women and children from everything I've seen.      Odd that he 5 wealthiest Arab States including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait are taking "no refugees" thanks and feel quite self righteous about it. No guilt what so ever? They are even laughing at us for doing so.      Ask yourself, why would Germany Belgium, Holland, France, Sweden and others want to destroy their own cultures from within? It doesn't make any sense? If this keeps up Europe will be burning daily within a very short few years if not months. Civil war in the streets between civilizations. Muslims vs Kefirs, that is to say, everyone who is not a Muslim.      Unfortunately, the reality is that Muslims are just not like any other immigrants. They don't want to assimilate, they want to set up separate enclaves and implement Sharia Law. Another problem is that while the civilized West rightly abhors violence, conversely Muslims daily display their love of violence. They live it and embrace it. In many Muslim countries public beheadings and stoning to death for adultery for example. It's a part of their culture precisley because Islam is, dare I say it, a death cult.      Islam is a supremacist, totalitarian, bigoted, fascist political ideology masquerading as a religion. It literally means "submission". The Quran MANDATES death for blasphamy, for adultery, for apostasy, for family honor, for being gay, Jewish or a Kafer as well as ten other "crimes" many not even considered to be so in the West. Death for drinking alcohol or taking illegal drugs for example.      Why let in vast numbers of these brainwashed people especially men of that age when past experience has already demonstrated the tragedy, not to mention the financial, social, and political costs of rampant multiculturalism in Europe. Ordinary citizens are against this immigration but strangely, their governments are not?      Someone or some organization is pulling some strings here is what I see. Is this invasion part of the New World Order's plan to depopulate the planet? Maybe there's not even any such an organization but it's all over Youtube and other social media.      The major media are implicit in selling gullible citizens of the West the righteousness of the "refugees" cause and openly siding against Western culture. One drowned child's picture in the right places sparks outrage and sympathy worldwide for the movement and resettlement of vast numbers of Muslims.      However the implementation of Sharia Law, No Go Zone ghettos in most countries in Europe and Muslim rape gangs go unreported. In radical Islamist countries honor killings, beheadings, stoning's, cutting off limbs, whipping and torture, pedophilia, child bride marriages, rape and misogyny go unreported DAILY and are dismissed as culturally ingrained.      Where is the indignity and the outrage over people doing this every day to their own populations? Yet a staged picture a drowned baby on a beach sparks a world outcry?      Muslim birthrates are 8 children per family while Europeans average 1.4. When these current milli ons bring in their multiple wives, children and extended families 85% of whom live on state benefits (England's experience) you can multiply their number by at least 10x, maybe 20x or even more.      By 2050 Europe will be Muslim dominated just by demographics alone. When their numbers are sufficient they will legally vote in their own kind and then Sharia Law.      Europe as we know it will be lost forever. Two thousand years of civilization will be destroyed by the same fanatical bearded, bigoted, brutal, boneheaded, belligerent bastards who are now slaughtering their own kind and blowing up ancient and irreplaceable world heritage buildings, monuments, books, manuscripts and other historically significant art treasures in Iraq, Syria and other conquered territories.      Canada should not get sucked into this quagmire of political correctness just to show how polite, civilized. politically correct and Canadian we are. We should learn a lesson from our Australian counterparts.

The main point of this letter is to show one person's defiance to the horror inflicted by terrorist......she clearly won't allow herself to be subjected to a life dictated by terrorist.....and coming from a woman....a muslim woman...the letter also clearly indicates her rejection of the accepted norms for a muslim woman.

Traditionalist, your interpretation of the letter is in stark contrast to mine and although I find yours interesting I'm sticking with mine. The attitude of this particular muslim woman is to simply say "Up Yours" .......pretty much the way the French will react as they slowly revert to the freedoms they enjoy on a daily basis.
