At this stage it may be better just to end the tournament and give the title to to the Hurricanes. They are playing well- but not as good as the Crusaders or Bulls in their prime years.
They seem to be playing especially well against other New Zealand teams- but just ok against SA teams. They certainly dont look invicibale like the Crusaders of old- or even the Bulls from 2008-10. The Stormers and the Sharks pushed them. 

 This is a very late stage of the tournament and with some teams only having to play 2 more games and the others 3 it is quite possible that the  only SA tram to feature in the play-off stage will be the Stormers.   The Bulls have two more games in Australia and only 1 game in SA and that may mean that even if they win all 3 games, they would have difficulty in making the play-offs.  
The Lions only have two more games and will also have difficulties in making the play-offs.
The surprising team is the Crusaders  - they were touted by the bookies as the cup favourites at the start of the season but it looks like they would not be in the play-offs.  Maybe too many geriatrics and reputation p-layers in that team.   Their show ing yesterday was poor.     

 I am quite happy for McCaw and Read and Co to rest now and start preparing for the Rugby Champion and the RWC.

Unfortunately rest won't help in the case of McCaw - he has rested enough and is not the player he used to be.  He will not meet requirements in the RC or the WC, so time for retirement from rugby is getting very late. 
I am also not overly impressed by Carter - he played mostly at inside center this year and was not that impressive either.
