The commentators after the game said there was no MOM for the game today - but they agreed that the best SA player was Damian de Allende.
Lets face facts the one disappointing player today was Jannie du Plessis - after he was replaced Koch was substantially better than him.
Mohoje had very little playing time and did not show anything as a lock.
JP Pietersen did not do much to warrant his position in the team. Matfield took 3 kick-ins - but fouled up one such kick. His contribution to Tight 5 play was lacking - while standing around behind mauls and the scrumming was not really up to standard. Pienaar was slow in passing the ball and he did not cover the ball Burden scored a try from. Reinach was twice as good when he came on. Although not playing in his real position Lambie did exceptionally well.
On the whole the youngsters did exceptionally well - while some of the senior players did not really contribute as well as they should. One thing is clear that the Tighthead selection should be Malherbe and Koch. For the rest I believe Meyer should take a real hard look at Pietersen, Pienaar, Louw and Matfield again to determine whether they are still good enough.
