Put Willie on the wing in place of Skosan - he's our best player in the air and still has potential to break game open.

I kinda like CC's backline, but I'm sure they will put Habana and/or JPP on the bench, with at least one starting. I will also pick JLdP for the bench right from the get go. Not nearly a starter, but he is one for the future for sure. I'm no fan of playing players out of position, but this guy can cover 10 to 14 with ease. He needs to get exposure ASAP.

We have BIG problems from 11 to 14. I can live with the options at 9 and 10 and we seem to be OKish at 15, but none of the new guns really put up their hands for the other 4 spots. 1/3rd of the team. We're in trouble.

Don't think we have an international scrumhalf apart from Pienaar, who was never as bad as advertised. Still one would like somebody more dynamic.
Odds are Jantjies will implode. Lambie can function at 10, but has never been a real success, witness Wales in 2014, witness Japan.
The centers are provincial level, Allende recovering some semblance of form is the only hope. Step is bog ordinary and Kriel is a JJ clone. Mapoe will do diddly at test level.
And none of the wings would make a NZ Super team.
Pretty grim.

Really like your choice at scrummie. I'd chalk him up as captain.
Jaime at 11 shouldn't have too many issues catching the ball with the left hand.
Would prefer Brienne of Tarth at 4 and Bronn in place of Ramsey Bolton.
I also think that Baelish is a little long in the tooth and wood rather have someone like the nimble Obery Martell on the wing.

Agreed xavi, and also one of my least favourite characters in any movie, but I felt I had to include him for the same reason I added Joffrey and Ramsay to the GoT team . . . we have to be representative of the bad guys and the foppish and effeminate robots.
Actually I couldn't stand Luke Skywalker either. Terrible casting. I was always pulling for the Lords of the Sith in all the movies because Luke (and Annakin for that matter) was such a little drip. I'm definitely a dark-sider.

C3PO was annoying, but jar jar stinks was worst.
never hated ep1-3 as much as the rest of the world though, the llight sabre battles and force use is the backbone of the star wars movies and ep1-3 used that better than original 3.
was never rooting for the sith lords, mace windu and his BMF lightsabre, qui gonn jinn, yoda and obi wan, always had me going woohoo.
darth maul though was pretty damn cool, double ended light sbare for the win....sigh.
cant wait for rouge squadron to give my inner geek a quick fix before ep8,

We did a LOTR XV some years ago. I remember there was some debate as to whether Sauron should be allowed to be picked. Otherwise it was what you would expect . . . Gimli at hooker, Cave Trolls as props, Ents as locks, Frod o at scrumhalf, Aragorn at flyhalf etc. etc.

Just curious is GOR big back in RSA? These were niche books when I first came across the series....and unlike the TV series they became rather boring after the first two works. The TV series is benefiting from writing help for writer's blocked George Martin.

Shezza, unfortunately this is all very subjective. I'm sure everyone has a favourite breed that they think should be included and I did try to find a place for a Bouvier, a Bassett, a Mastiff and a few other breeds I know quite well. In the end, I went more on the pure physical dimensions of the breed and tried to relate it to the requirements of each rugby position.
I've never owned a Newfoundland but they are beautiful dogs. I just question whether the SA climate is cold enough for them because they have very thick coats. Would be a nice dog to own if you live next to a dam/lake or the sea but I don't think they'd be suited to J ohannesburg? I suspect you will be able to set me straight on this.
